POSTGAME: Rd 02 vs St. Kilda
Add the last two to several very good games in defence at the end of last year and you have a very nice body of work in defence. i have been amazed at the negativity towards him from many on this site!!

CHANGES: Rd 02 vs St. Kilda
One on One against a little boy in Bobby Hill on a good track at the G is a far different proposition to chasing Butler, Gresham or Higgins around a lightning fast track at Docklands. Would love to see the Club have the courage to select āhorses for coursesā and bring in some real leg speed for Docklands. Out = Harmes, Jones & Jetta

Clayton Oliver Contract negotiations
By the 2 first rounders youād get for him.

Sparrow, Jordan and Nietschke
Will Hamill is a beauty and just what we need and Tom Berry would have been a much better selection.

PREGAME: Rd 01 vs Fremantle
With the increased speed of ball movement as well as more offensive forward entries as a result of rule changes, I canāt see how Neville Jetta can possibly play as a small defender. Game is now way too fast for Jetta.

More importantly, it takes a Coach with the balls to actually take the hard decision and move the player out of that position OR out of the team. This is where I think we have now evolved. Won't matter if your name is Oliver or Viney or Petracca when he's in there. If you don't play inside mid as Yze wants, you won't play inside mid and if you don't have another position that you can play, you might find yourself playing inside mid at Casey.

Absolutely correct. I believe there is a concern that we have too many that can only play inside midfield and nowhere else. eg Oliver, Viney, Brayshaw, Harmes, Sparrow, Jordan & Vanders. Yze wants team first footy and those not willing to conform will not be in there and will be considered trade worthy and it is only my speculation that the one with most trade value is the one that needs to conform the most. GPS tracks the players who run the most metres towards the oppositionās goal when the opposition has the ball, the Club calls it Defensive Metres and particularly tracks all midfield & forwards on this stat. Most on here would be very surprised if you saw that list of ranked players. Once again, a Demonland whipping boy tops that list.

Spot on Dazzle. Plus Vanders & Melksham. Yze certainly delivered it in a positive, educational manner. It wasnāt done in a way to belittle those players but I think weāll find far less tolerance for a lack of defensive running, not filling defensive positions in transition as well as stop plays, taking on the tackler 2 & 3 times, panic handballing etc.

Yes, Yze is not going to let the big 3 get away with what Ben Matthewās did. On a positive note, some of the Demonland whipping boys were pointed out and praised by Yze in the same videos for sacrificing their attacking position by moving to take the defensive positions that were often not occupied by the big 3.

If Oliver doesnāt make some big changes to the way he plays, including significant improvements to playing āteam firstā footy, the Club May well consider that his trade value is attractive. I can tell you that Yze ran a lengthy video session this week based on the positioning and work rate of our midfielders particularly when we donāt have the ball, and Oliver, Petracca & Viney were the continuous culprits of most examples. Iām loving what Iām hearing about Yzeās intent to improve the defensive efforts, selfishness and team first acts of the big 3 egos.

TMac on the Trade Table?
Wouldnāt want you managing our TPP if youād rather be paying T Mac $750 k to be playing at Casey as a back up tall forward as opposed to some Ruck insurance by paying McKernan $250 k at Casey in case Max goes down.

Welcome to Demonland Bailey Laurie
A close contact is on the Recruiting table of the Cats and whilst he never gives much away, he told me that the Cats moved to get ahead of the Dees because they had a strong belief that the Dees were taking Holmes with one of their first 2 Picks. āPersonally, I found that amazing that at this stage of our list make-up and needs that we would use such a high pick on a speculative project player. He stated that he liked what the Dees had done, particularly the Jake Bowie selection. He didnāt have an opinion on why Jack Carroll had slipped so much.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - FRASER ROSMAN
Personally, I think the exciting thing about this Pick is that we have recruited an 18 year old, Jewish, Carpenter.

TRAINING: Friday 11th December 2020
Absolutely agree Hemingway. 2 players Iāve spoken with that live in Elwood were less than happy with wind swept, and desolate Casey fields. I recall the recent disaster of the Saints move to Seaford with Players & Club admitting it was a very poor decision.

Farewell Josh Mahoney
I had a regular Senior player over for dinner 2 weeks ago and he nominated Mahoney as the first bloke he'd move on from the Football Dept. Been there for far too long for my liking and I am delighted he's going.

The Protected Species
I was sure this was going to be a thread about Melksham.

Tom McDonald
At $700 to 750,000 for two more years, I would take a Second Round Pick in a heartbeat, if there was any likelihood of him playing at Casey.

Yze is a Demon Again
But thatās what I said. If, he stays in football, the Dees are a real chance. He might not get the opportunities outside of football in this COVID stuffed world. Letās not underestimate that the Dees are now the great and enticing challenge of the AFL.

Yze is a Demon Again
I was told couple of weeks ago that the Club is in advanced discussions with Yze and are being listened to by Leppitsch. My source said that Yze is very likely and if Leppitsch decides to continue in Footy, it will be with the Dees.

Oliver Rumours on Footy Classified
Hi Rab. He phoned DāOrazio who is his Manager on Saturday night. I genuinely believe Christian loves the Club and probably loves every single person in it, however, I suspect that Christian genuinely believes heās built for Grand Finals and has a burning desire to play in a FEW before heās finished and might have just had some doubts. Heās contracted for two years so thatās that, however, Iād be very worried that if the Dees arenāt a GENUINE Premiership contender at the end of this Contract, he wonāt finish his career at the Dees. Time will tell.

What Iām stating is that Iāve been told by an impeccable source that Petracca phoned his Manager and asked, if his Manager thought it would it be possible to get a deal done. His Manager shot the idea down as being totally impossible. Now, this may have been a spontaneous call from a highly emotional and at times immature young man, however, I believe it happened and if it did, it demands an immediate inquiry. TBH, my sense of this being true is so strong, that if I had Pert or Bartlettās numbers, I would have contacted them to at least get them to investigate directly with the source.
