  1. I don’t believe an offer has been tabled, but they have certainly been active for some time and I suspect will ramp up their intensity should Judd commence the year strongly. Warner is their clear priority.
  2. Thought some might be interested to know that the West Coast Eagles have tabled a 6 year offer to Chad Warner which is front loaded with the early years at $2million per year. WCE are stacked with Draft picks in next year’s Draft, so expect it to happen.
  3. I get given the list of the final rating of all Draftees by an AFL club the morning of the draft. This particular club didn’t have a selection on night one, in fact, weren’t particularly active in the Draft this year due to trading players in. They rated Jagga Smith the best player in the Draft. In fact, 6 of their 8 analysts who watch Coates league games, rated Smith 1. In their “aggregated” ratings list they had Smith 1, Ashcroft 2, Langford 3. They had Murphy Reid a lot higher than he went, Taj Hotton a bit higher, and Travaglia a bit lower than he went. They rated Xavier Lindsay right about where he got picked. They tried to get up the board to get Ollie Hannaford, but couldn’t do a deal. Interestingly, they classified Riak Andrew & Ricky Mentha as not Draftable.
  4. I should also say he said the young boy Brown, is a ripper to train and will do whatever it takes!!
  5. The concern recently from an assistant coach is whether Jefferson has that fierce competitive desire, and will do whatever it takes to be successful. He also shares the same concerns regarding Verrall & Adams. He said that Kenterfield has that quality in spades and if he doesn’t succeed, it won’t be for lack of fierce effort.
  6. I can tell you, that very question of, “why do the players love Goody so much” is definitely included in the review.
  7. I can see how people could interpret the content of his speech in a few different ways, and tbh, the content was the least of my concerns. If ever there was a time to not have a number of crownies before making the most important speech in his time at the Club, it was then. Might seem old fashioned, but I also believe it was the time to shave, to not go with the trendy 3 day growth. I’d be rather confident that Sam Mitchell, McRae & Fagan won’t be slurring their words during their speeches. Was the absolute occasion where he had to take the totally conservative & professional leader type approach, and unfortunately he didn’t.
  8. No, not at all. The bargaining powers have changed significantly, and a month ago, Claz didn’t want to leave.
  9. Hi Daz & Brendan. I can’t say too much except that right now, I think a deal gets done. When I announced this a month ago, I didn’t think it was possible because I couldn’t see Dees getting fair value from Cats. They’ll certainly have their work cut out taking on Bailey, Claz & Stengle. The stories I could tell re Bailey.
  10. Just letting you all know that I was told today that the Caulfield facility will be announced very soon, perhaps over the next couple of days. I was told the MCC is a significant contributor and that the Board considers Pert’s work as exceptional. I wouldn’t post this if it wasn’t from a very credible source, so let’s hope we’re all celebrating soon.
  11. I believe Clayton definitely wants to stay, and I believe he will. It’s just that clubs realise that Dees want to change the way they play, and they’re just probing to see what the situation is with Clayton & CP. Let’s be clear, there’s many, many more discussions had than there are trades done.
  12. Let me say very clearly that the Dees are not shopping Clayton, but they have been asked if 2 first rounders would get it done, and I believe it wasn’t totally shut down / dismissed.
  13. Sam Wicks from Swans to Gold Coast will probably happen.
  14. Guys, I’m hearing that Clayton is not totally off the table. He’s gettable for the right offer.
  15. I’m told the Bailey Smith to Geelong is done and he’s even been told he’ll get Number 2.
  16. My mail is that Houston is off to the Saints. 5/6 years at $850 per year.
  17. Thanks for the support Dee Zephyr. As I clearly stated, however, apparently not clear enough for Deelectable, was that Carlton in particular had come early & hard with a 5 year, big $ offer and the Swans didn’t think they’d be able to retain him as they had other priorities. Two SA clubs made even bigger offers and Dees showed a little interest. I can tell you that the FD of the Swans are pleasantly surprised to retain him and I was told that he’s accepted at least $600k less over the term to stay at the Swans.
  18. Apologies. If he has resigned with the Dogs, he knocked back an incredible offer to stay.
  19. Thought you guys might be interested to know that the Tigers have tabled a 10 year, 15 million offer for Jamarra.
  20. No mention in that article that he’s submitted the transfer & registration form. That was submitted today.
  21. Here’s a little one that the media don’t know about yet. Ben Cousins has just completed paperwork to play for Old Xavs this year. I hope it happens and it is great to think his health is such that Ben believes he could play that competition at 46.
  22. I’ll try to get an update, but as we all know, Geelong is just about the number 1 destination club. They don’t lose players they want to keep, and Max is one they will want to retain. Couldn’t see him going anywhere in the short, medium term.
  23. I’m only guessing, but he has had a strong start to 2024, and he was particularly good against the Dees in Round Zero, so that may have stimulated their interest. Lever is on the record as saying he’s a very difficult match up as that 3rd/4th tall. I know the Swans were disappointed with him in 2023, but what we’re seeing now is some of those Swans forwards excelling now that Buddy is not hogging the forward line. I think he’s a handy player, but I wouldn’t be over stretching for him just because he’s a free agent.
  24. Current situation is that Swans have lowballed Hayward as they’re happy for him to be the one that goes. He’s currently on $600k a season and was on the “to be dropped list” about 5 times in 2023, but survived due to injuries. Carlton have been interested for 12 months, the Dees interest is a lot more recent. Swans are very keen to retain Florent, and by pushing Hayward out, they’ll most likely be able to.
  25. Been an enormous distraction to the Lions, at last count about 6 couples have separated at least temporarily. I know a couple of guys that have been betting big against the Lions and getting juicy odds, particularly for their Gabba losses. Once again it’s hard to imagine how this story hasn’t broken long before this with all the guys covering the game Mrs Cameron is not popular.
