Ricciuto on Lever
What an absurd & stupid comparison. Gawn & Trac were Draftees that we recruited for nothing in precisely, or in perhaps an even better position for us than what they were predicted to go. As opposed to having to grossly overpay a 3rd tall defender to pry him out of his Club. Look, you were a well known supporter of the Lever trade and you are soon going to have to realise that he is just a good, ordinary 3rd tall defender that you Draft at around Pick 30 - 40 and you pay $400 - 450k pa tops.

Ricciuto on Lever
And many others were critical of paying so much for a 3rd tall who’d already done a knee. No hindsight, critical at the time.
-
Ricciuto on Lever
And all those other Clubs would be regretting it based on his output with us

Ricciuto on Lever
So, we’ve got one game for our $1.5 - $2 million we’ve paid him thus far.

CHANGES: Rd 03 vs Essendon
My mail is that they really want AVB in, but after last week it is too hard to drop Hunt & they won’t drop Jones & Melksham after one poor game. So, I’m saying IN: Kossie & Weid. OUT: Jackson, & ANB.

CHANGES: Rd 03 vs Essendon
Spot on DD. Apart from 2 brain fades he was very solid for a bloke essentially re-starting his career after injuries and a longtime out. Steven May would be on 3 times his money and probably had 3 brain fades when you consider his poor attempt at a mark 3rd man up which got over the back and resulted in their first goal plus his pathetic kicking out which included a look away attempt that he pulled across his body and it was just good luck it didn’t come straight back over his head for another goal. Lever would be on twice his money and was no better than Smith. I’m staggered that anyone would suggest dropping him after that game to bring back Hibberd the turn over merchant or slow as treacle Oscar. What people must realise is that you can’t play all 3 of Oscar, Jetta & Lever because they are so slow. When you consider that Salem isn’t quick but great kicking skills, you can understand why they’re trying to get some run out of defence via Harmes, Joel Smith & Rivers. Just unfortunate for Smith that his 2 errors were so graphic that a few on here highlight him instead of others that were totally useless to rather ineffective but inconspicuous, eg Tom MAC, Nathan Jones, Melksham, Lever, May. All of whom are far more experienced and on much more money.

CHANGES: Rd 02 vs Carlton
I can’t see how Lockhart could possibly be dropped after his game in Rd 1. I think he keeps Salem out. Vanders definitely not yet available as he didn’t play the last quarter on the weekend due to foot soreness at 3/4 time.

GAME 29: Demonland's Best/Favourite Demon 1988-2020 - Lyon vs Gawn
Took the 2 young sons to one of those pre-season footy days at the Junction Oval in the mid 90’s and was waiting patiently at the table to get signatures, when Lyon casually leaned over to a teammate sitting next to him and said, “faark this is going to be a long day.” Lost me forever at that point did the arrogant one.

Best Interstate Recruits - since 1970
I’d have Viney as a clear number 1 from Johnno.

CHANGES: Rd 02 vs Carlton
One of the smartest posts on this site for a long time. Another case of just rolling over and accepting mediocrity.

CHANGES: Rd 02 vs Carlton
Really like this side Werridee with the exception of Hore as I don’t rate him at all. I would also play Weideman at CHB for the whole year and play Tom Mac deep forward. Love the fact you’ve realised that there is NO future in Jetta & Hibberd.

Melbourne - Prahran connection
You might be thinking of a real tough nut called Garry Chapman. Was a very tough half back/midfielder with Prahran who went onto play 2/3 seasons at Fitzroy. Does anybody remember a big, overweight plumber full of tattoos called Steve O'Brien, Number 34 I think. Made Toby Mitchell look like a clean skin.

TRAINING: Friday 8th November 2019
I haven’t spotted May back early which is a real disappointment after his pathetic 2019 performance of turning up fat and then consequently breaking down all year. I thought he owed the Club so much that he’d be first back.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL
And you can believe that AFL players care little about where they fit in on their Club’s pay scale if you choose, however, that would totally defy one of humans greatest emotions (envy) but maybe your limited experience with AFL players proves otherwise.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL
It probably only indicates that Canplay led the witness/senior player with his line of questioning, however, nobody could possibly be the slightest bit surprised that the majority of Dees players would be shaking their heads at Tomlinson getting a long term, lucrative contract.

Poll: Who do you want with our first two picks?
You are so overthinking this mate. This is from a mate of 40 years who we each served as each other’s Best Man at our respective weddings 30 years ago. There is no bs with this info. For the last 10 years I get emailed his Club’s full Draft report about 5 minutes before the Draft and I have never let him down by abusing the trust.

Poll: Who do you want with our first two picks?
Yesterday I had breakfast with a mate that has been part of an AFL club’s recruitment team for 10 years and due to him passing me info prior to the actual Draft, I would rather keep the Club confidential, however, let me assure you that this is one hell of a successful club. My mate’s role is purely Victorian based and focuses totally on the TAC, no other league. The bottom line is that he told me this Club had a major meeting last Saturday whereby all the TAC watchers met for a full day and compiled a mock Draft of Victorian TAC players. Whilst having to be a little guarded at this time of year, my mate told me that at Saturday’s meeting, Hayden Young was the almost totally unanimous choice as number 3 from the TAC. In fact, my mate scoffed at the thought of overlooking Young at 3 even after the interstate kids were factored in He was very strong in his praise of Kemp but didn’t want to elaborate too much about other players in the 5 to 10 range as this is where his Club would be selecting. He did however say that neither he or any of his other TAC watchers had Weightman in the first 12 and said he’d be highly surprised if any Club took him in the Top 10 after the interstaters were added in. Thought you might be interested.

Jack Newnes
Doesn’t have a great relationship with Richo which wouldn’t help us.

Josh Mahoney in the Media
Very safe kick after taking an eternity to sum up his safest short option. Provides absolutely no run, much less burst out of defence. If we’re playing Oscar as a second KPD, we’re in trouble.

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ADAM TOMLINSON
Herald Sun has written as part of his performance rating that MFC should reconsider their long term, big money offer.

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ADAM TOMLINSON
If you reckon he went missing today, you should have seen his last two games. He was outstanding today compared to the last two games in which his team happened to play very well. He is just a low possession, role player that gets more games than he should because he’s tall. Having said he’s tall, he can’t take a contested overhead mark to save himself. No wonder no other Club is currently chasing him.
