Time for Jack Viney to lead on his own?
goodwindees replied to Ugottobekidding's topic in Melbourne Demons
I just don’t know where Jones plays in 2019. He sure ain’t an outside running wingman. Look at Collingwood’s wingmen, Sidebottom & Phillips. Wouldn’t they love the thought of playing on Jones. -
Pies have much better experienced players in Pendles & Sidebottom compared to Jones & Lewis. Grundy matches our key player in Gawn and they smash us for outside run. They’ll trade Darcy Moore and end up with 2 first rounders this year so let’s hope they don’t nail their picks again.
-
I’m amazed at the calls for Vince to come in. He was in terrible form before injured, in fact, poor for most of the year. We were terrible tonight with Tyson & Jones on the wings so surely we need to replace at least one of them and we know it won’t be Jones. out Tyson and in either Hunt or Joel Smith fir some leg speed on the fast WA track.
-
I had him in best 8, possibly best 6 in what was a superb team performance. We are so lucky Alistair sent him our way. Those that persisted in extremely negative posts on Lewis & Frost either have to apologise, change their identity to keep posting or just shut up.
-
I’m going to persist in reminding all the Frost knockers how bloody stupid they were and how little they really understand the development of a tall afl player because they were relentless in their bagging of him. There are also some fools who have been relentless in their posting that Jordan Lewis should never play again. Boy has Jordan made them look stupid! They must all be embarrassed by their poor judgement.
-
My comparisons (no need for your apostrophe) weren’t based on playing close to goal, they were simply small/medium players that regularly make best 22.
-
Dahlhaus is a superior player than, Spargo, ANB, AVB, Hannan, JKH & Kent. He is also more of what we need than Tyson. To say he’s not Best 22 is just wrong.
-
In fairness, I don’t believe any of Frost’s supporters ever said he’d be a “gun”, we just couldn’t understand why so many continually bagged him and stated he wasn’t even AFL standard. Unbelievably early call for someone with so many attributes.
-
I assume however that you don’t put yourself in that 70% Pro Dee. I know nothing about Facebook surveys but out of interest, were you one of the clueless fools that continuously bagged Frost?
-
I have come to realise on Demonland that there are some Posters that just object and want to counter argue just for the sake of it. It would make a really interesting study. I suspect that it might have something to do with perhaps not having been player they wanted to be or just general lack of life achievement which manifests itself in keyboard warrior syndrome. As I say, the "let's tear it down", "let's doubt it", "let's ridicule it" reaction is alive and well at Demonland. I've given you a bit of good mail, totally backed up by Pro Dee and all you want to do is still dispute it.
-
Well the Club agrees because as I say they have withdrawn their earlier interest and they continue to go very hard for Gaff.
-
Hi Ante_Up. I’d only be guessing because the fact is my strong, direct connections are within several Clubs, Swans, Hawks, & Geelong not the Dees. I must say I’m surprised that anyone is doubting this mail because as I say, prior to my Post, Dan H was only being mentioned in injury reports.
-
Yes ET, with Grundy and Reid finished for different reasons, they are desperate for May. The feeling is that Gaff’s “brain fade” was due to the incredible stress of the upcoming decision to tell the Weagles that he would be leaving the Club to return home. He loves the Eagles but was favouring a decision to come home and the Club also thought that was the case which led to the massive McGovern offer. Who knows how this recent event changes things.
-
That was always going to be an issue, particularly when a Club like the Saints who have lower picks gets involved, however, Dan H has to agree to go to a bottom Club like the Saints. To answer your question, if we were to package Tyson & that Adelaide second round pick which is now not too bad you might squeeze something decent from a Carlton etc etc.
-
Surely, you’re aware as is the whole football world that we had an enormous crack at Dan when he signed his last Contract. Mahoney has been on record earlier this year as saying that he really believed that we had the salary cap ability to bring in 2 top end talents. I suspect that Dan & Andrew Gaff were 2 that we’re in the mix.

As some of you know, particularly Skuitt, many weeks ago I posted that the Dees had an arrangement in place that if Sydney could be satisfied with a very high Draft Pick, Hannaberry would be Demon next year on a long term contract, and as I stated, “very big coin” Let me make it clear that my Demonland Post was the very first mention in any form of media about Hannaberry breaking a Contract with more than 2 full seasons to run. A couple of weeks later Damian Barrett & others started to get a sniff and started running stories. As we now all know, the Saints became aware of Dan’s availability and are in for anything with a pulse and have taken over the running. Let me update you. About 2 weeks ago, the Dees informed Dan’s management & the Swans that due to the necessary but unexpected increase in the contract values of some recent signings that the Melb FC would be withdrawing any interest in that Trade. I believe that the Club also had to increase their offer for Andrew Gaff which made a 4/5 year $800k offer to Dan rather difficult. I can also inform you all that the Swans are desperate for the Hannaberry trade to happen as they are extremely keen on Steven May and need the Pick and the salary cap relief. I have also been told that the Tom Lynch to Richmond deal has been done. Also, just to make yesterday’s defeat worse. In addition to Buddy having the exact same heal injury that sidelined Mitchell Starc for so long, Josh Kennedy has a knee injury that hasn’t allowed him to train for weeks and is also being jabbed to play.

Well Jonathon Brown showed that footage amongst several others on On The Couch as another example of Jesse Hogan being terribly out of position.
-
Sounding like you’re one of the Frost bashers who is giving faint praise through gritted teeth. At least you are giving faint praise as there are many Frost bashers that have been decidedly quiet the last few weeks.

What I do know for absolute certain is that we’d already be qualified for finals if those morons had selected Frost instead of Petty against St Kilda. Must be said that there were also plenty of morons on Demonland that posted Petty instead of Frost. Just laughable.
-
It is so easy to take a potshot at the bloke coming in to pay his first game in about 10 weeks and on base money instead of the Top 10 highest paid players that play every week and continually let us down against Top 8 sides.
-
Spot on! So mentally weak!
-
What are all you Frost haters thinking now? Not a champion and never will be, but your derision of Frost has been absolutely confusing to me.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 19
goodwindees replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Or it could just mean we’re going to lose our 4th game based on Selection blunders from these slow learners. -
We can’t have watched the same game! My new nickname for Nibbler is Fumbles.
-
Jordan Lewis is absolutely cooked, never pick him again
goodwindees replied to DeeSpencer's topic in Melbourne Demons
The title of this thread is quite possibly the most inaccurate & inappropriate in all my time at Demonland. It has gone on for far too long and is quite frankly demeaning to the Demonland brand. Please close it down.- 581 replies
