Closer to the end
In Josh Mahoney & Jason Taylor we trust. What crap.

CHANGES: Rd 06 vs Gold Coast
Very difficult team to play as a forward in, With atrocious supply from midfield, however, Hunt was clearly the most ineffective player on the field. I like Rivers but he has had a taste and must now go back. His poor kick across field which resulted in a score against, plus his rookie mistake of not taking the body which resulted in a goal, just followed up his shocker against Geelong. I thought Tomlinson was our 3rd least effective player and is looking just like the plodder that many thought he was prior to his recruitment. After those 3, I thought that there were some disappointing players, however, I think Lockhart is being played out of position and Viney whilst being so very poor with ball in hand really did battle away and despite some courageous selection calls, I can’t see him being dropped anytime soon. Out Rivers for O Mac Out Hunt for Bennell Out Tomlinson for Weideman Out Lockhart for Nathan Jones (Providing Nathan is 100% fit & ready)

CHANGES: Rd 05 vs Richmond
Are you seriously saying you would drop Hannan? I can’t fathom what you would expect from a mid sized forward that hadn’t played any footy for about 18 months. I thought everything taken into consideration Hannan was very good. We had two very poor players today, AVB who looked so underdone and Rivers who just looked out of his depth today, and remarkably you come up with a Hannan & Lockhart. Staggering!

You can’t have watched the game to suggest dropping Tomlinson.

Jake Lever.. Can someone explain??
Many self professed experts at Demonland were ecstatic at his recruitment. Where are they now?
-
TEAMS: Rd 04 vs Geelong
Lack of pace, lack of run and a non penetrating kick is what has had an effect on Nev. They can’t keep playing him on opposition talls so as to hide him from their quick smalls.

Where are we at?
I’m surprised that most of the absolute pessimists in this thread that say the list is really unbalanced & we’re a mile off, are the same ones that keep sprouting, “ in Jason Taylor we trust “
-
Where are we at?
But the point is that if last year’s Pick 3 isn’t in our next Premiership side, either Jason Taylor has stuffed up again, or most of us will be on the wrong side of the daisies.
-
Where are we at?
So you don’t rate Last years Pick 3.

TEAM: Rd 03 vs Essendon
Or, you’re simply wrong. Your comment in an earlier post that Smith was deplorable or disgusting Last week and it was one of the worst games from a Dee that you’ve ever seen was embarrassingly stupid.

Ricciuto on Lever
What an absurd & stupid comparison. Gawn & Trac were Draftees that we recruited for nothing in precisely, or in perhaps an even better position for us than what they were predicted to go. As opposed to having to grossly overpay a 3rd tall defender to pry him out of his Club. Look, you were a well known supporter of the Lever trade and you are soon going to have to realise that he is just a good, ordinary 3rd tall defender that you Draft at around Pick 30 - 40 and you pay $400 - 450k pa tops.
-
Ricciuto on Lever
And many others were critical of paying so much for a 3rd tall who’d already done a knee. No hindsight, critical at the time.
-
Ricciuto on Lever
And all those other Clubs would be regretting it based on his output with us
-
Ricciuto on Lever
So, we’ve got one game for our $1.5 - $2 million we’ve paid him thus far.

CHANGES: Rd 03 vs Essendon
My mail is that they really want AVB in, but after last week it is too hard to drop Hunt & they won’t drop Jones & Melksham after one poor game. So, I’m saying IN: Kossie & Weid. OUT: Jackson, & ANB.

CHANGES: Rd 03 vs Essendon
Spot on DD. Apart from 2 brain fades he was very solid for a bloke essentially re-starting his career after injuries and a longtime out. Steven May would be on 3 times his money and probably had 3 brain fades when you consider his poor attempt at a mark 3rd man up which got over the back and resulted in their first goal plus his pathetic kicking out which included a look away attempt that he pulled across his body and it was just good luck it didn’t come straight back over his head for another goal. Lever would be on twice his money and was no better than Smith. I’m staggered that anyone would suggest dropping him after that game to bring back Hibberd the turn over merchant or slow as treacle Oscar. What people must realise is that you can’t play all 3 of Oscar, Jetta & Lever because they are so slow. When you consider that Salem isn’t quick but great kicking skills, you can understand why they’re trying to get some run out of defence via Harmes, Joel Smith & Rivers. Just unfortunate for Smith that his 2 errors were so graphic that a few on here highlight him instead of others that were totally useless to rather ineffective but inconspicuous, eg Tom MAC, Nathan Jones, Melksham, Lever, May. All of whom are far more experienced and on much more money.

CHANGES: Rd 02 vs Carlton
I can’t see how Lockhart could possibly be dropped after his game in Rd 1. I think he keeps Salem out. Vanders definitely not yet available as he didn’t play the last quarter on the weekend due to foot soreness at 3/4 time.

GAME 29: Demonland's Best/Favourite Demon 1988-2020 - Lyon vs Gawn
Took the 2 young sons to one of those pre-season footy days at the Junction Oval in the mid 90’s and was waiting patiently at the table to get signatures, when Lyon casually leaned over to a teammate sitting next to him and said, “faark this is going to be a long day.” Lost me forever at that point did the arrogant one.
