2026 Pre-Season Ladder Predictions
Yes probably May, Milkshake and Macca next year, Vines and Mihocek end of โ27 then Max, Steele and Lever in โ28. We already have replacements on the list for half of these and we will get three runs at the draft and trades to cover the rest. Iโm feeling pretty confident bing181. Tracc/ Claz and Max our huge outs, they are the three that will test our recruiting skills.

AFLW: QF vs Brisbane
It just comes down to finishing they can we canโt quite finish off our good work but they got those last two goals by hitting up loose targets.

Good luck girls your best is well and truely good enough to get this very important win. Go Dees.๐๐

Next Captain? (in a few years)
Iโm also thinking Trent Rivers with Langford Lindsay, Chandler, Disco and JvR in the developing leadership group. We currently have a bit of added leadership in the team with Steele joining our ranks and hopefully a fit Lever will also bolster our on field leadership. I am feeling a bit more bullish about the potential leadership depth within our younger playing group.

2026 Pre-Season Ladder Predictions
We still have 13 Premiership heroes in our side even if a couple are in their twilight years, we still have a solid core of players as a starting point. Add Chandler, Turner, Steele, Jiath, Mihocek, Langford, Windsor, Lindsay, Tholstrup, Heath, Van Rooyen, Adams, AMW, Howes, Kentfield, Culley, Melksham, Laurie, Jefferson & Johnston. Add in five new players in the draft and you can see the bones of our next team starting to emerge. Can Steven King and Co re-ignite the fight the never give in attitude, the team first belief within the group to defy gravity and the downward fall, to hold the line and start the climb back up the ladder. We will have some great kids to develop and replenish the team and with another good draft ahead of us in โ26 and a bit of a war chest to further recruit for need And Steven King and Co are the real deal we can turn this battered frigate back into our 2021ish destroyer.

2026 Pre-Season Ladder Predictions
Clayton played 15 games in 2023, 21 games in 2024 and 22 games in 2025 but there was a significant drop off from when he was racking up disposals ranging from 660 - 754 during his golden years.

Gawn Interview on SEN (6/11/25)
I think that you hear what you want to hear, he said that he is excited by the changes at the club he enjoys being in the conversation each year as to who is the best big man in the league and hope he can remain in the conversation for the next couple of years. He said that everyone who knows Kingy sayโs that he is a ripping bloke. He mentioned seeing Goody at the races and as mentioned he loves Claz and Tracc they will always be premiership heroes, etc but now understands that they need a change. He met the sponsor of the Best Big Man in the AFL competition and was very complimentary about all the Rucks that featured heavily in the competition ( Max was the clear winner racking up 60 votes next best 36). He mentioned that he is now in a heavy running program running around 50 km/week and breaks it up a bit doing some 10k runs and as DS mentioned he wants to run a marathon once he retires.

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
Yes Binman he really looked at home on the wing in year 1. Now that we have CJ, a fit AMW and superfit XL it should free up Rivers and Windsor into the centreline.

2026 Pre-Season Ladder Predictions
Looking back through our win/loss run this year 7 wins and 6 close losses we werenโt that far off the pace apart from Round 2-5 where we were smashed. Given that we have lost our former champions in No.13 & 5 plus 4 & 9, I am expecting a slight drop off but with the inclusion of Jiath, Steele, Mihocek and Heath we have backfilled much better than I had expected. So with another year under their belts and a strong preseason our 25yo and youngsters will hopefully take that next step plus the Steven King and crew effect will provide a more cohesive and added enthusiasm within the list and the addition of another five quality youngsters could see us win 10-12 games in โ26. I am expecting a 10-12th finish but wonโt be surprised if we finish a little higher in the order, as previously mentioned by some of our more knowledgeable posters nothing ever stays the same, some will rise and some will fall why canโt we be one of them.

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
Did you watch the final series in โ21 by chance, three super games in a row topped off by a 39 possession game in the Granny.

Kobe McDonald
Yes I wasnโt aware of the Irish connection, I would have thought Swans, Blues and Cats, maybe Saints have a closer affinity with the Paddy Wagon๐คช

Welcome to Demonland: Changkuoth Jiath
I think that CJ is our fifth attempt so should go alright but now I am worrying about Max and Jack. ๐๐

To my mind Harvey it is all the negative press that we have incurred since we went out in straight sets at the end of 2022, we have wreaked the storm for failing not once but twice and had a number of negative player instances over this period as well, whereas the four teams that have been deliberately bottoming out for four or five years come up smelling roses. Our numbers have plummeted whilst theirs have increased steadily. Teams that have had similar instances of player issues donโt seem to have been impacted in the same manner as us and havenโt been impacted by supporter drop off. It could also be that we have dropped back to our poor numbers that we enjoyed prior to 2021 where we slowly dragged ourselves up from low thirties to low fifties during our mostly positive rebirth with PJ, Roos and the Pres that ended up suing us. Maybe our Reset at least starts us at that level again mid fifties with an expectation of restarting our climb back to relevance. A number of our Dee friends have dropped off and no longer read anything associated with us in the press. Quite depressing really.๐ค

Thanks Ghostwriter thats good to know but I havenโt really seen much evidence of MEC, perhaps Binman should be part of that committee when you combine The Demon Army and Demonland as a group there is a high level of footy IQ and intimate club knowledge that could provide a great source of information to help promote the MEC to where it needs to be.
