If we can recruit the best possible midfielder available at 5-6 plus a couple of extra quality kids and 1-2 additional 23-25 yo’s from other clubs including a fwd/ruck: And CP5, Clayton, Max, JV, May, Lever, TMac, Bailey Fritsch, Chandler, Petty, Salo, Langdon, Spargo, Bowey, zbillings, McAdam and Jake Melksham are all fit and available And Sparrow, Rivers, Kozzie, McVee, JVR, Langdon, Windsor, Tholstrup, Turner, AMW, Laurie, Woey Jnr and Howes take that critical next step We will only need a couple from Fullarton, Mattie Jefferson, Will Verrall, Jed Adams, Kynan Brown, Oliver Seston, Marty Hore and the new crop to step up and I am confident that we can make top 3-6 on the ladder and then anything can happen.

I am not surprised, 2024 has been nightmarish with a media pile on the likes of which only the Bombers have previously suffered. Our lack of a Marketing/ Media guru has been telling, when we should have gone on the front foot to defend our club we stood idle and just took it, maybe the fact that we were being attacked internally (legally) as well as externally by a number of lesser lights in the press would have really hurt us and this wasn’t helped by a couple of our players antics in ‘23-24 and then a couple of very poor losses and the Petracca debacle really hurt us on and off the field. let’s hope that out of these Reviews they identify the need to build a very strong marketing/ media savvy team to defend and strengthen our mighty club.

Very happy to have Jake Melksham commit to another year he and TMac provide strength of character experience and leadership to our group.

Well done TMac the extra year is well earnt he was back to his best this year and provides valuable depth and experience for our younger brigade.

Sadly If the negative press didn’t get you, the 4 close losses and the 3 total wipeouts would have discouraged the hesitant and late joiners.

As for Luker Kentfield he may take another year or two developing at Casey, it will be Jefferson’s time during ‘25.😁

Tim Membrey don’t mind that, he is a tough competitor and could possibly take some of the pressure off whilst the kids are developing.

I loved how you scoped that out Skuit, well thought out and worded, doesn’t matter how lofty the ideals but countered by the white anting and financial imposte on our club.

It’s all easy to say what ever one wants to say or what one wants to believe but in the final analysis no one really knows. Everyone is just playing catch up football.!!

Good luck Kate Roffe, thank you for your 11 years service on our Board and for being our President at a crucial time in our History. The club delivered three premierships during your term as President, AFL, VFL and AFLW, that is a phenomenal success rate, we will be forever grateful to have celebrated this success with you. Have we acquiesced to the press and the kindly Mr Lawrence, None of whom have been elected to the Board of the MFC, if a Complete Review of our recently successful club is undertaken by an External organisation it could turn into a complete mess, witch hunt even. The club could really become destabilised and set back years. Be careful of what you clamour for.
