Rebuild Time WERRIDEE Style
As Nathan Buckley pointed out - On The Couch recently when things are going your way, Nothing is as good as you think and when it is going against you, Nothing is as bad as you think. However when the dust settles we really need to clear cap space this year and if we can trade next years 1st for a pick or two this year it would be a good time to do it. We need another gun mid, a tall and a ruck. Come rain hail or shine this is a critical exercise, forget about trading out our picks or any of our experienced contracted players for peanuts. You need to have experienced heads around the kids to teach and educate the tricks of the trade.

2024 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Iโm with Spirit Of Norm Smith after watching that game last night I would also be pushing to top up our depleted midfield stocks with best available, we need contested footballers with good foot skills and pace, they improve the team straight away plus a ruckman. I would also rookie in another tall and best available speedster. Without a strong midfield base we will continue to lose our advantage.

TRAINING: Thursday 1st August 2024
Thanks WCW greatly appreciated and how good is it having all those happy kids running around the club, canโt remember seeing happy children at training with RDB, Northey or even Danners when coaching. Lol.!!

Caleb Windsor Could Miss the Rest of 2024
Agree Demonstone I like Howes as well he looks a natural winger who can play back, possibly forward as well.

Stats Files - 2024
Thanks DD the only thing that comes to mind is our efficiency with ball in hand, maybe our better players do more with each disposal, we certainly didnโt rack up so many disposals chipping the ball around as they did it seemed our only desire was to get the ball forward and sometimes to our detriment.

Caleb Windsor Could Miss the Rest of 2024
What a disappointing end for Caleb Windsor he has been a bit of a bright shiney light for us all year and timing was terrible. Hope you have a quick and complete recovery Caleb.!!

COACHES VOTES: Round 20
Agree BBP they had the 5-6 most influential players on the ground, however I felt that we had a greater spread of players that understood their roles and stepped up as required. Their midfielders and Hogan were better than our counterparts and we didnโt take our opportunities like they did. Yet we ran all over them late in the 4th and they ran all over us early in the fourth. For all their dominance they are only a 2 point better side than us, so we arenโt as [censored] as a lot on here are asserting. They are clever and know how to chip the ball around and round and string a chain of handballs together quite impressively and rack up a lot uncontested ball to stay in the game.

Part 9: Jason Taylor - Visionary or Over-rated - 2021
Hi CF Deespicable is doing a rolling draft & trade revue, he has just completed an excellent review from 2014 - 2021, he hasnโt covered 2023 yet so why are you focusing solely on โ23??

My 3 word player analysis V GWS
Agree I thought it was Billโs best game to date, he like all players need continuity to build belief and win the trust of teammates. Same with Woey I kept an eye on him Saturday night he was making position all night to provide an option for our kick ins but no one used him, thinking itโs a lack of trust in his ability to find the next target.

POSTGAME: Rd 20 vs GWS
Me to we get the opportunity to bring in new players, another pre season into our kids and we hopefully get to start a new season with Tracc, Clayton, Max, Jack, Jake, Steve, Petts, Ed and maybe TMac and Milshake refreshed and ready to take some big scalps. Whatโs not to be excited about.

Trade Targets
Personally I believe that we need to free up 5-6 spots on the list at a minimum, we have to accomodate McVee, AMW and possibly Verrall . We need:- 1. Ruckman 2. Biggish, fast midfielder 3. Med/ tall utility Use freed up Rookies spots for best available No pressure Jason Taylor & Tim Lamb just donโt let us down. Lol!!!

POSTGAME: Rd 20 vs GWS
Agree Binman it looked pretty dire my daughter said god we could lose by 10 goals. I was hoping like hell we would regain some momentum and stop their run which we eventually did. Their mids were better all night and although Max had been pretty good they totally bamboozled us in the first 15 minutes of the last quarter. We looked totally inept. What is your handle on that 15-20 minutes Binman?

POSTGAME: Rd 20 vs GWS
I must admit when we went to the game I hoped for a win but expected a loss, yet we came out firing 10 shots on goal but only converted 50%, our pressure was right up there. The Giants have a lot of tools in their bag of tricks, their handballing is creative and their short passing is accurate and hard to stop, they run in waves and have a lot of very good players and stagers but when it came down to it in the end weโre their forwards (bloody Hogan) kicked at 72% accuracy for set shots and we kicked at 62%, they kicked straighter and all our hard work and sometimes quite brilliant team work went unrewarded. The conditions were so cold and damp but both sides adjusted pretty well, at the end of the game we just all looked at each other and thought we should have won it. Demon Army were great all night, the people around us were quite vocal and we enjoyed hot jam donuts as we walked back towards the city to get the car. No parking at the G not even for Permits, outlandish really.
