POSTGAME: Rd 12 vs Carlton
Well it was a good night at the G not to cold, pies were hot and fries crispy we arrived a bit earlier than usual. 7.50 start just to late, almost 50,000 was a tad disappointing given the way the media were pumping the Blues up. The lady next to me thought our players looked like they were on Valium early but we perked up and with Tomlinson in to take the heat our whole backline lifted and held sway all night. Tracc was imposing has quick hands and high footy IQ superb all round game, how good to have a fit Salo back. 59 inside 50’s to 39 seemed about right if we can get the forward 50 connection right and accuracy back to where it needs to be could have been a percentage booster. Judd and Roo are both very smart footballers they constantly surprise me. Mind you some of our early kicking killed our momentum and from some of our more experienced players. Never felt threatened all night but how good would it be to have Big Harry running around in our forward line, have to get Benny fully fit for our run at the finals, shoulda won by more but really enjoyed singing the song again. Pleasant trip home and watched the replay. Good night.!!

CASEY: Rd 11 vs Southport
Judging from the stats and comments we have some good depth at Casey JJ to good for VFL, Laurie, Woey, Schache look ready to come in when needed. Deakin Smith, Howes starting to get amongst it, whereas AMW, Sestan and Addams fair way to go as is Jefferson. Is Turner carrying something as he appears to have dropped off and the Big question is Benny Brownhe appeared to stop getting touches in the second half?? A really great win by Casey up at the home of the Sharks despite their monster ruckman dominating the midfield. Well done team that was a great effort.!!!

PREGAME: Rd 12 vs Carlton
Happy with the Tomlinson inclusion as mentioned has been very solid down back at Casey and will help Jake play his intercept role, Hunter is an automatic inclusion and looking forward to what Joel can bring to our stagnant forward line. How good if he can clunk a few contested marks as well. Going to be a bit of a nervous watch at the G tomorrow night but aren’t they all the way we are playing. Hurry back Clayton and Hibbo.!!!! Plus a bit of forward manic pressure would help.!!

Ball Magnets Podcast - Jack Viney
I think Jack mentioned Tom was one year older and that’s why Tom was Batman and Jack was Robin. Lol.!!

Ball Magnets Podcast - Jack Viney
Well RDN that is some interview given that JV and Tom Mitchell have known each other since pre- school days and played together until U15’s. Mitchell was able to get Jack to open up more than I have heard previously, great listen. !!!

Sestan & Verrall Re-Sign
FND and he likes to win his own ball, could be a real handful if we can get him 100% fit and firing.

Sestan & Verrall Re-Sign
Ollie Verrall is a Ruck/ forward 200cm and hopefully still growing we have Addams coming through backline, good size, handy mark and accurate kick 196cm could be a May replacement in a couple of years.!!

Jake Melksham Suspended
I noticed in the Photo Gallery that a coach and trainer were holding Jake back from an altercation so I guess someone from the Werribee team really upset him.!!

Agree BDA 29k for two top 4 sides at the G was a tad disappointing on a perfect Saturday afternoon for football. I must admit that due to the tightness of the game we didn’t fire up until the last quarter so the boys didn’t get a heap of support, there was more yelling at the poor quality of the umpiring fraternity. Still very happy for the clubs coffers.!!!

CASEY: Rd 10 vs Werribee
Maxy is coming off a ML injury and not back to his best yet still racked up 35 HO’s. We need to utilise Tomlinson or Diso until Petty comes back in and use either BBB or Schache for TMac.

POSTGAME: Rd 11 vs Walyalup
So did Lever. Well my day didn’t go so well, the drive in was pleasant and the pie was hot But Jacko turned up to play possibly his best game on the G Freo made the most of their opportunities and racked up a lot of uncontested possessions in our forward line which we seemed ok with as they did it whenever we looked a bit lively. Although one of our best Max is right off his game at present. Lever is being exposed down back by us not playing the third tall. We continued to bomb the ball into the forward 50 with total oblivion and managed a miserable 10.12 and three out on the full. Where has our accuracy gone?? The Dockers had a game plan that they stuck to by playing wide and maintaining possession at times we seemed quite clueless. It was a quiet drive home football wise.😪😢

VOTES: Rd 11 vs Walyalup
6 - Tracc best by far 5 - Sparrow 4 - Grundy 3 - Gus 2 - Max dominated hit outs we just weren’t smart enough to capitalise 1 - Salem showed some good touch and is on his way back Big drop off for Riv, Spargs, Fritta, TMac, we are crucifying Levers Game playing short in the backline and cruelling the forward line also having no marking forward.

2023 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Thanks WJ I am really looking forward to this years draft and hope that we top up the list, definitely need two quality mids, a tall defender or possibly a young tall, plus Kynan Brown. Prefer that we don’t trade out our crop of picks for 1 - 2 players.!!
