That was very perceptive Sydee I liked the way you summed up all our options last year and I now agree we need to recruit another tall back and hope like hell that Daniel Turner and Jed Addams have a huge summer and pre- season to fill the hole that Harrison Petty has left down back . Now that he and JVR have taken the reins up forward. Very impressive indeed.😁👍

Agree chook Max is an absolute champion of the game, always plays the ball and leaves the low level stuff to his sniping opponents. We will all look back on his career when it finally ends in fondness and amazement.!!!

Judd McVee the exit kid, thinks so fast picks out targets and hits them up in a blink of an eye and his hands are also so quick and accurate you have to replay the sequence just see how he did it. Judd is an important cog in our backline machine.!!!

I didn’t get to the game or get to watch live as we were out at a family catchup all afternoon but have watched the replay twice and the last 13 minutes several times as well. Our forward line looked very very strong and versatile and Harrison Petty had one out of the box and opened the forward line up for the rest of the group. I say Yes we have found our full forward I don’t expect Harrison to play that well each week but the group really jelled yesterday against a strong and proven defence. I think that at 197cm Petty has the height, just needs to work out in the gym more to build his core strength and resilience. Having 71 inside 50’s certainly helped our case.!!!

We watched it last night great interview by Hamish, Jack set his sights on AFL footy and always wanted to be at the elite level like his dad. Great footage of him running out with Todd as a little Demon with his blonde hair wearing the number 12. Jack has achieved the ultimate in footy and is playing career best footy May it long continue, love what Jack brings to our club.💕

Agree Macca I thought the same we failed the continuous improvement axioms we had really good teams but failed to continue the build to excellence whereas Bombers, Lions and Hawks were more ruthless with their recruitment. If Swooper and Danners had TL and JT in their corner who knows.!!

BB he mentioned that he has already put on 6kg so that is a good start and he is listed at 195cm 6’4” same as Shwarter. Well done Mathhew Jefferson and MFC sounds like the young bloke is starting to build nicely, another pre-season and another 6kg on that frame and watch out we’ll have JvR and Jefferson Ford running around with Fritta, Kozzie and Chandler then look out.!!!

We just missed finals in 2017 & 2020 and 2019 was our year from hell with surgeries and injury, also 2022 top 4 finish hardly a failure but compromised by injuries and we ran out of steam. Very harsh Cranky Franky.!!!

Personally based on what we need at this point in time, Petty needs a spell to get back to 100% fit, Tomlinson needs to stay in the backline and Schache should come into the side to play decoy forward Or bring Grundy back in to play that role. I felt sorry for BBB yesterday, he tried his guts out but couldn’t hold his marks or get to the ball drop on a number of occasions. I liked his little kick to Max for Max’s 2nd and he certainly covered a lot of territory but unfortunately it isn’t enough and there were a number of people around me calling for him to be subbed out, it was that obvious. Or do we play Smith forward and use Schache as the Sub?? We have options, playing an injured Petty or BBB shouldn’t be one of them.!!!

Thanks DD those figures show just how good the Crows were, their pressure and hard offensive running really dampened our effectiveness But we were still good enough to get over the line. !!!

I remember the exhilaration and ultimate disappointment of the John Northey era 87 should have been ours and his year but as pointed out 5 out of 7 winning years got us back in the groove. The Daniher 10 year span was something else particularly 98 and 2000 we got used to winning again and enjoyed going back to the G. Hard to believe how quickly the past 7 years have gone under Simon Goodwin and how we have changed, we now expect to win every game, 2018 so exciting to be back, 2021 we saw perfection for the first time in 60 years, Goody has built expectation and a strong culture back to our mighty club. Love Goody and what he brings week in week out.!!!!

I love what Mark Choco Williams has bought to Melbourne he refines them, lifts them up to AFL level but also keeps them well grounded so they don’t get ahead of themselves. A fair dinkum Legend of the game and he is ours for another twelve months at least.💕
