Andrew Dillon is the Next AFL CEO
All things considered Andrew Dillon has undertaken a long Apprenticeship at the top of the AFL so would have invaluable inside knowledge of how it all hangs together. This will allow Dillon to hit the ground running and not have to learn the ropes and get tripped up by all the seasoned experts in clubland, etc, etc. I would have had my money on Brendan Gale, he’s been brilliant at Richmond but he may have some short comings that we haven’t spotted??

Dees Potential Draft Play to Secure Pick #1
We are in a great spot with our list But as previously mentioned we need more outside class to compliment our AA midfield group, we topped up on talls last year this year has to be quality tall mids.!!!

POSTGAME: Rd 06 vs Richmond
Agree FB BBB always looks better when we get the midfield clearance and kick it long into F50, so does Fritta, we haven’t been as dominant out of the centre this year, particularly against Lions and Bombers. Need to focus more on centre clearances and if we don’t win don’t allow the opposition to waltz it out without extreme pressure. We have a lot of learnings in our first 6 games let’s hope we can get back to 2021 energy and team focus. We looked more like Melbourne after half time.!!!

Does Kade make the grade, or will it be Chandlermonium
I remember watching Kade after our Granny win hugging Jake Lever, he was crying and I remember thinking jeez this kid is really invested, he played a pearler in the Casey Granny and is now producing the goods at AFL level. If he can maintain his current form he will be an automatic lock in the 23, he is young and relatively inexperienced but you wouldn’t know it. He helped keep us in the game Monday night, really starting to like this kid. Go Kade Chandler.!!!

POSTGAME: Rd 06 vs Richmond
When we walked back to the car we were all excited and happy, it was a great night the pre-game experience was moving and well respected. Both teams played hard tough footy and even though they got the rub of the green from the 4 adjudicators we still managed to kick 9 of the last 13 goals and were still running hard at the end of game. They took us on early and ran out to a 25 point lead and we took them on and clawed our way back to an 18 point win that’s a 43 point turnaround despite numerous poor decisions against us. Our better and most experienced players All played well, our second stringers all had a crack and our 5 kids all did themselves proud ( Bowey, Chandler, McVee, JVR and Laurie) and all in front of a crowd of almost 84K noisy excited fans, how good does it get.!!!! PS( The Anzac Eve game for those of us that have had family members who fought and were damaged in the Great Wars and those that are still representing us in the Military this game is an expression of our care and respect for all who have served.)

VOTES: Rd 06 vs Richmond
6 - Jack Viney 5 - Max Gawn 4- Christian Petracca 3 - Clayton Oliver 2 - Kade Chandler 1 - Jacob van Rooyen I gave votes to the two kids that kept us in the game and eventually won it for us. Lever, Brayshaw and Langdon all deserved a vote, a great team effort in the end it was an exhilarating and tense game to watch at the G and boy did we get behind them it was so loud in the second half.!!!

CASEY: Rd 05 vs Richmond
Thanks KC and all posters very disappointing day for Casey I think that the 2.9 first half really killed us. You can’t doubt Dunstan’s endeavour and a lot had a crack including Harmes, Turner, Woey, Bell but I agree where were our other AFL listed players, they are playing for their futures and we are going to have to make way for a new lot of kids at the end of 2023.!!!

Training and Trackwatching
I travelled out to Casey Fields today with my daughter and two grand kids for the MFC kids Clinic. My first trip out there 1.5 hrs each way But very impressed with the facilities the organisation of the clinic, player and staff involvement and the large number of kids and parents in attendance. The kids got to mix with the players and have a lot of fun with like minded kids of their own age as children were split up into similar age groups. When the clinic concluded we were lined up along the fence line with the kids and all players involved came along from both ends and signed their autographs and posed for photos, etc, which took a long time. clinic started at two and it finished at 4:30, I felt very proud of our player group for giving up so much time for their fans. The sun shone for us and my two left feeling very happy with themselves. My only complaint was that there were no famous bacon and egg rolls, so had a hot dog and coffee instead. Well done MFC.!!!!

2023 Injury List
Agree Chelly looks like Will Verral will struggle to get on the park this year and that’s a shame for any young player trying to make an impression.!!!

TRAINING: Tuesday 18th April 2023
Thanks KV and all posters greatly appreciated, injury news looks improved, players sounded relaxed and friendly be hard for management to be overly confident after our miserable showing against the Dons. Nice that the club made themselves and the players available for 10+ year members.!!!
