  1. See, I didn't say he is carp, but he does not deserve that sort of hyperbole. You've inadvertently lent weight to my argument.
  2. I don't think it's out of the realms of possibility, and for that reason I'd take Kennedy and not trade Toumpas.
  3. So that Essendon could complicate things by trying to ask for too much? Like any decent picks we bring in? Just get it done.
  4. Howe is worth more than moving forward by 3 slots, and the academy picks are irrelevant since we wouldn't have access to those players anyway.
  5. I'd definitely look at Whitecross. Lauded for his leadership at Hawthorn.
  6. I've said it before, but I still like the look of Tommy Glen as a later pick.
  7. Can't imagine what we'd want from North that they'd be willing to give up. I hate their list. All their best players are ageing imports.
  8. Sorry, didn't realise you were such a precious little rose petal. Funny though. The kid is not getting games & wants to leave for opportunity. Considering he's doing that, and the norm is to state a preference, why should he not be allowed to also? It doesn't mean necessarily refusing to look at any other options or holding the club over a barrel ensuring they get inequitable compensation. Simply he's looking for more opportunity elsewhere, and may exercise the now-common option of nominating a preferred destination. Why that has anything to do with being a spoiled brat or Gen Y is holed up in your little head. Unless you think he should be made to toil away in the VFL for another few seasons at Box Hill until Hawthorn decides to elevate or delist him because... Just because clubs should have all the power? Your antiquated logic doesn't apply here anymore. And to put a line through the kid's name for it would be the height of pigheaded stubbornness & ignorance.
  9. You definitely can if you're not talking about past performance, but what they will do.
  10. Probably the most ridiculous stance I've seen on this matter.
  11. Great problem to have, and great for us too if we can take advantage of it.
  12. Thanks for your expert opinion, but I'm going to back mine on this one, which is pretty much the opposite. Oh, and obviously that of Goodwin & McCartney, et al.
  13. If the floated Prestia deal is not on, I'd certainly entertain a Howe-for-Anderson deal. I'd like the Hawks to add a bit to that though.
  14. I don't agree, but anyway... Edit: I should clarify - inconsistent maybe, but I don't think Melksham is absolutely a poor decision-maker or has poor skills; quite the opposite. Consistency can and will be worked on, and I think will improve markedly in our environment. I also think his work ethic will add to the club culture.
  15. It would depend on the cost obviously, but I think we'd be better off with targeting Whitecross as a FA anyway, and keeping focus on Bugg & Melksham. Would be very happy to get the above three and Kennedy & Anderson though.
  16. Really? Vince was viewed by many as a soft front-runner with a deadly kick, often with good reason. What are Melksham's limitations exactly?
  17. Might be wrong, but I think Bombers supporters will be up in arms in 18 months time, wondering how they got so little for him & calling for heads. He has all the attributes for great success.
  18. I'm sure a lot won't agree with me, but I expect Melksham to have an impact equal to Vince.
  19. Exceptionally weak draft remember...
  20. As I heard yesterday, Bird had approx 6 straight games where he was in the best for swans reserves at the end of the season, when the Swans suffered midfield injuries, yet he still couldn't get back into the side during finals. Apparently something has happened where the leadership group at Sydney has blackballed Bird, demanded he not be selected, and he will not be returning to the swans regardless of what he wants.
