  1. That's more an indication that I think Schache looks incredibly overrated (think Peter Wright last year, maybe even a poorer version), while Weitering appears to be the second coming of Harry Taylor.
  2. If Adelaide match, it means that he can't automatically join another club. It sets the terms, and then his options are to sign with the club who owns his rights (Crows), the Crows to trade those rights to another club, or for him to elect to not sign the contract and enter the draft (most likely Carlton, or even better Brisbane).
  3. When Danger's options become "got to MFC" or "chance it in the draft", he may be more likely to choose the certainty of MFC. Hopefully Adelaide make a stand. I also think it's amusing that the one's publicly stating that talks have been amicable between the parties are all those who have a vested interest in Danger's move to the cats being seamless. And cheap.
  4. Who was it that said Plowman wasn't a fan of Todd Viney? Funny, because I recall TV waxing lyrical about LP at a club function leading up to the draft. It's not like we overlooked him - we didn't get the option to take him. I'd be happy with a Bugg/Plowman/Tomlinson combo for an early pick.
  5. Would be happy with this dependent on cost. Obviously. Solid role player, decent experience at this early age, has scope for improvement.
  6. I'd say because, to me, Weitering looks like clearly the better player.
  7. It's a technicality, but I think he did hold his place in the 22 for the majority of the season.
  8. Intagram WJ.The candid photos would indicate their legitimacy.
  9. The likelihood is that there's not a great deal going on, and the media know even less, but Purple has turned "revving up the feral hordes" into an art form, particularly when it comes to having dees supporters frothing for trade rumours.
  10. People think this would be a leap of faith in the players not getting banned? What about Port with Ryder? The teams chasing Carlisle? The AFL must have the inside word, but be unable to release it publicly.
  11. I worked with a guy who was close mates with Melksham from junior footy days, when Hird first came to the club and brought in the weapon. He passed on stories of how Melksham was handed a new diet plan that had him eating 2 full rotisserie chickens per day, amongst all the other things that were going on. The aim was rapid weight gain, and it worked at first, before 90% started dropping with soft tissue injuries. This is all before the supplements saga became public & I never heard any mention of that.
  12. Good point. Legs are fairly unimportant...
  13. My thoughts exactly. But no one has sealed any deals yet.
  14. While we're at it, can someone please confirm the rumour I've heard that Ablett Jr has his eyes on a move from Geelong to the Gold Coast franchise?
  15. Adelaide playing hardball and "will accept offers from other Victorian clubs." Essentially, you can't have Motlop on the table at one point, then convince him to stay, take him off the table and expect Adelaide to be content with pick 13 only.
  16. Under-performing according to whose metric? What is your alternative to keeping him? Delist him? Trade him for a 4th round pick? These options do not improve the list. I don't think you've considered the implications, or you don't understand them. You don't get better by getting rid of every player that isn't a superstar. Right now he's in our 22. If we can't use him to improve our list, the aim is to persevere until he either develops into an even better player, or other players go past him and push him out of our best 22 or 25, then if his value is that low, you might move him on for little to no return.
  17. Brett Anderson is known for very little other than being a self-proclaimed draft expert. He doesn't have ANY runs on the board in regards to inside knowledge with trades as far as I know. Fwiw I've been told Watts will stay, mostly because we're unlikely to get better value by moving him on.
  18. And that's something we know he can get over too.
  19. Id really like Plowman, but it depends on the cost, and more importantly the opportunity cost.
  20. Their supporters may say the same after seeing us linked with Hartlett and Bennell...
  21. North? How can they afford to pay their "home grown" players when shelling out for Dal Santo, Waite and then Higgins?
