  1. Not quite. It’s either Trengove OR Scully (Scully in reality). Don’t let the facts get in the way though.
  2. Obviously we can’t question that, but I think we can question if enough is enough? Our own “handouts” weren’t without limit and I’d think their existing handouts are not held back by ineptitude, but by not allowing time for the potential to be realised.
  3. What’s your point though? Because we’ve had help in the past, North should get whatever they ask for whenever they go back to the well? There has to be a limit.
  4. I suspect Yze’s presence at tigerland will have them stepping away from any deal for Harmes.
  5. My vote is for Chol. Particularly if GC are contemplating rolling in pick 4 to Adelaide (as mooted) for a return of a teens pick and a couple of others, so they can offload the salary. Grundy’s departure nicely opens up some space for that, which we’re unlikely to use on a FA this year.
  6. Again, I doubt that is actually the case.
  7. Don’t reckon he’d actually know.
  8. A bit like Tomlinson I thought. Not interested.
  9. I feel like he wasn’t going to improve if he stayed, but I expect him to kick on wherever he ends up.
  10. Jack Riewoldt vibes for mine (pre-enlightenment) but I still think we could easily end up with Caddy & Watson if the cards fall a certain way.
  11. Dew with the Choco & Chaplin links would seem an obvious choice, if willing to move back to VIC.
  12. Smokescreen of irreparable relationship to force the move through?
  13. Didn’t you just answer your own question? Overly cautious approach vs caution-to-the-wind approach.
  14. Not in the slightest! But would appear to be a short term solve for us.
  15. Rumours of Lynch?
  16. Forward who can ruck... Depends on what Richmond would want for him though (too much) and if Yze wants to do us a favour..?
  17. Checked the AFL app - he’s listed as 190cm. Still more on the short side than I realised.
  18. On that, consider a hypothetical where Gawn goes down with an ACL during the finals series. Do we stick with Grundy, who surely will have made plans elsewhere and have a foot out the door, but may be willing to stay? Or do we abort the pick 1 attempt & go chips in for a proper longterm ruck solution like Sean Darcy? For mine that would dovetail nicely with Kalani White’s entry to the list. No pressure kid.
  19. I’m not convinced you are correct. I think he’s now worth more than we paid last year and it’s not relevant. We paid for a ruckman that had a massive injury cloud over him and was only fit sporadically for over more than 12 months. He has low proven to be fit and capable, only being kept out of the side by the league’s best ruckman and the fact he’s an ordinary forward. He’s also worth a lot more to Port than he was to us (back-up vs missing piece). I think we will work to get him to Port if it’s his preference, but should be asking for a pick around 20 and not pay a cent of his salary going forward. Port can play hardball but that will only bring Sydney into play as a real option.
  20. 187? Christ, didn’t realise he was so small. That’s a gamechanger. Probably not then.
  21. From Geelong. Adelaide apparently not coming to the party on salary, on account of him doing an ACL. I wouldn’t want him necessarily for 2024, I would want him for beyond.
  22. Doedee (doo-day). Free Agent. Tall defender. Roughly now is the time to fill our boots propping up the list with FAs, by virtue of the fact our draft picks are all due to fall near the back of each round, and we also figure to receive pitiful compensation if any for FAs that leave us, so compo dilution is less of a concern for us. Probably more alike to Lever than May, but I remain concerned that our succession planning may not be sufficient to cover for May when inevitable drop-off hits. He’ll become an accomplished gorilla-tamer, rather than the force he has been for us.
  23. Probably. Just seemed to be a cheap & competent backup option. But as others have pointed out, probably not the option we’ll go for.
  24. But Darcy is a number 1. No way he takes a back seat. Lycett has little choice.
  25. Surely if Grundy is to go out, Lycett comes straight onto our radar.
