  1. See thats where i disagree. He was a strong contributer for the twos last year. He had 2 games where he kicked 4 goals in both. He kicked 25 goals from 14 games which is very impressive for a first year skinny forward. I agree with the rest of what you say though. He should have been dropped aftet the Geelong game and even now I'm still shaking my head why Smith (the bigger mature body) was dropped and Weed stayed in. If we are fair dinkum about playing finals then personally weed has to develop at VFL and we just go with the Watts Hogan combo who both just work well brilliantly together.
  2. But Dais i can see both sides of the story to why keeping him in the AFL will help speed up his development like they did with Oscar or play VFL to work on his weaknesses and develop at a normal rate. Its a balancing act which im sure the coaching staff have discussed. I would be happy of Weed played 10 to 12 games this year. Next year hopefully we'll start to see a bigger person who'll start to clunk those big marks. In saying that he is an omission for me this weekend for Hogan.
  3. Hey Diamond Jim would be great if you could maybe do bit of a game day update for all of us? Would be highly appreciative mate.
  4. My player of interest today.. Kennedy, Brayshaw, Trengove, Pedersen and Hibberd.
  5. Don't worry mate your not being spiteful. I feel personally that if Bernie would need to play good footy its back to the position he knows best and thats being that aggressive midfield tagger that he does best. He won the best and fairest playing in this position. Why the coaching staff leaving him down back i have no idea.
  6. I too would have had Melksham out due form but with the 3 quicks they have im thinking maybe he stays in to do a long down role. If Gus plays a blinder today then he comes in for Hannan. He adds more at half forward then Hannan does and also give us bit more class and edge to the midfield rotations. I think Weed will have the weekend off. Has been going at it since JLT series and corkie will give the selectors an excuse to rest him.
  7. Im sticking by what i said here. If he continues the form here is now then i cannot see him getting another contract next year. Its either midfield or bust for Bernie. His 32 next year and only going to get slower. Him getting 25 disposals a game isn't going to save him. Just ask Daniel Cross. Also the humble pie that i have ever only eaten is Jayden Hunt. Funny that there were a few on this thread that shared the exact same worry i had with Hunt before debut and yet i was the only one who put my hand up while some turned a blind eye.
  8. Its amazing how some are still not taking the tiges seriously. The problem we'll have is trying to contain their small forwards in Castagna Rioli Butler and Martin when he rest down there. Our defense has been shitouse this year so i can see us leaking goals out the back to these guys. We just seriously need to tighten for gods sake. Riewoldt is a star. I wish i had faith in Tom McDonald but his form this year has been poor. Do we back Frost in and maybe give him a go? Midfield of Nankervis Martin Cotchin Prestia Caddy Grigg Vlaustin won't be easy at all. You give Martin a sniff and he'll tear us apart. Goody needs to be fair dinkum and put a tag with him. Mitch Robinson completely shut him out tonight and did a fantastic job. Give Vince the job.. He is bust down back and bernie plays his best footy when hes an aggressive midfielder tagger. This game is also where id love to see Tracca spend some quality minutes in there. His last Qtr was quite good when he went in there so lets start to use his explosiveness and smarts in the midfield. Hogan vs Rance, Watts vs Ashbury. Hogan owes us big time. I expect him to come out and dominate Rance.. There are no excuses, hes fresh and ready to go. Watts is in fine form so i expect him to also get the job done and kick a couple. Kent really needs to step up here. His speed and power is what makes our forward line potent because when he is up and going him and Garlett can really cause headaches up forward. Viney Tyson McDonald and Vince need to seriously lift if we are any chance of winning. They are experienced players that have been in poor form this year. For us to move forward we needd these guys up and firing.
  9. Minor.. back out playing.
  10. Im cringing already about what Dustin Martin will do to us next week.
  11. Lewis Jones Oliver Jetta and Hogan were the best for me round 1. He played well but i thought these guys were the clear standout for me.
  12. Hogan is the obvious for Weideman. Hannan needs to go. Had an ok first Qtr but barely did anything for the last 3. Had 0 tackles which is not good enough. If Brayshaw and Kennedy have good games then i think it has to be out of either of them. Id bite the bullet and bring Hibberd back in straight away. We are just lacking serious composure down back. Bring him in for Melksham.
  13. So 1 good game out of about the last 12. Some are easily satisfied.
  14. A great workhorse effort by big Spenc. Couldn't have asked for more.
  15. Are we a better side though? Sandilands Fyfe, Neale, Mundy, Hill Brothers arr a pretty good core of players to start of with.
  16. Roos coached his own way both those years and had him playing ripping footy. Goody has a fair bit more input 2016 and Bernie is playing down back. Coincidence? who knows. But clearly his best footy was playing as an agressive midfielder. If it was up to me id have him tagging Martin but its now obvious Goody doesn't bother with tagging star players so thats out the window already.
  17. Of course he'll stay down back due to injuries. But once those guys get back from injuries then where does that leave Bernie? up forward? Surely not.. I don't see how me saying he won't be on the list next year due to poor form is stupid. 32 next year with fresh recruits and more further development of Wagner and Smith. And i don't agree with you about wanting to win games instead of blooding youth. Otherwise Weidemen and Hannan wouldn't be playing at all. Goody will reward whoever is in good form in the VFL.
  18. Just saw Melkshams stats.. 10 disposals 0 contested 10 uncontested 3 tackles and 7 turnovers. Under Paul Roos he wouldn't get a game with those numbers. Will Goody drop his mate?
  19. Spot on. Your talking sense though, That doesn't go down well in this thread.
  20. Under the special requirement from Goody and Macca.
  21. ??
  22. Tex Walker is a star.
  23. Sorry but when we haven't made finals for 11 years i think most on here have every right to get really impatient and [censored] off when we just throw away games like today.
  24. Crows are looking quite lethal. 3 minutes into the 2nd Qtr and Tex Walker has already 5 goals.
  25. I thought Frost was quite good. I definitely feel far more relaxed with him down back then Oscar.
