Anyone else concerned about the whole kozzy Pickett situation? I know he's been home in SA for for whatever reasons, but hasn't trained for 2 whole weeks, and now Victoria shutting down as a whole, I don't see him returning anytime soon.

Some really good points mate. Reading this post just reminds me of the sad situation with Shane Tuck and the autopsy report on his brain which was incredibly sad and alarming. I'd rather McCartin worry about his health then footy if that's the case.

On a side note that's off topic, I saw on 7 news that Mitch Hannan is out indefinitely with a groin Injury.

The days of just sitting at full forward just to kick goals only are long gone Old, It's changed now hence why we haven't had a power full forward kick a century since 2008. Get with the times mate, I know you well enough not to explain further.

Mate he even admitted this on the demonland podcast. Pretty much said Holmes wasn't their main target as it was portrayed in the media. If anything our main target was Finn MaCrea but he was snapped up beforehand by Collingwood. Our recruiting team thought Laurie was going to GWS at pick 16? When he was available they were extremely happy and pounced straight away. If Holmes was still available at our 3rd choice then yes we would have jumped at it.

It's not about kicking 50 goals. It's about him taking the pressure off Luke Jackson and Bayley Fritsch who would have both gotten the 3rd and 4th defender. Weideman and Brown out changes the whole dynamic set up of our forward line. Jackson now cops the 2nd best defender and personally I think he'll struggle with the adjustment and bigger defender.

No that's not what I said. I just had concerns with the depth of our tall stocks and felt we still needed a developing young tall in the wings in case a Brown, Weideman etc go down. I'd rather be putting games into a young 18/19 developing tall like a Callow who is physically ready then say a Mitch Brown who will now most likely get a gig come round 1. Petty imo is still a fair way off. He missed 12 months through injury and isn't even doing full training and still doing modified work. Again, question marks over the durability of his body.

Mitch Brown is 31 years and we are in trouble and going nowhere if he's playing round 1. Ben Brown is half cooked with knee issues which we were well aware pre trade period. Petty has missed 12 months of football due to injury and will be a fair way off match fitness. Tom McDonald is cooked. He'll never get back to his best and people need to start accepting that. Weideman has now gone down. McDonald takes the number 1 defender now and Jackson the 2nd best. Defenders will be laughing.
