Trade Targets
Yes but we would have had to give up an early pick for him which meant we wouldn't have had Lindsay or Langford.

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
You have contradicted yourself yourself big time. You made the statement that Trac has contributed significantly to our off field situation, only to then list off a few dot points which one point was basically off the back of a freak on field injury and another that you have taken a stab guess at (Maynard) because why not just blame Petracca eh? โThe reason (Maynard) was let into the house I think was because Max Gawn and Christian Petracca happened to be there and Max Gawn let him in,โ Wilson said on Channel 9โs Footy Classified. Majority of those off field matters had nothing to do with Petracca at all.

Farewell Judd McVee
What? McVee is simply out of contract. His well within his rights to exercise his options elsewhere as we speak and thats clearly Fremantle. I dont put McVee and loyalty in the same basket.

Interesting part on that. If Adelaide is not prepared to pay all of his wage - forcing Melbourne to still chip in some of his salary at a new club next season - the Demons would certainly ask for a better return on the picks. It means at least one more club may have to get involved in the Petracca deal if the Demons target a top-10 pick in the trade which Adelaide currently does not have. The future of hard nut Crow Luke Pedlar is the curve ball as the goal kicking playmaker is interested in more midfield opportunities after playing mainly forward in 2025. Pedlar, 23, has been hard hit by injuries at Adelaide, limiting him to only 39 games in five seasons. The man taken with pick 11 in the 2020 draft, from Mt Gambier, could emerge in trade discussions along with full back Jordon Butts. Butts, 25, is a free agent next year and could become a target for Melbourne if the club deals premiership defender Steven May to Collingwood. The Demons conceded the seventh-most points in the AFL this season and are eager to improve their defensive record under new coach King next season. But the Crows have not yet shown any interest in trading either Butts or Pedlar and would likely try and complete a Petracca deal with Melbourne with picks only.- Farewell Judd McVee
Exactly. Once they nominate thats it.. literally the last person to backflip to another club that had initally nominated a destination club was probably Mitch Clark.- Farewell Judd McVee
Judd. Christian has given some much to the club regardless what people think of the current circumstances. Premiership player, best and fairest winner etc etc.. McVee can get [censored]. We picked him when every other club ignored him, put ample amount of support around him, helped with his hamstring injury, only to then throw it back at our face.- Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026

Because other the him doing a Kent Kingsley on us he has done bugger all at AFL level. People get sucked in by one performance and think his Allen Jakovich. Been in the system for 3 years in one of the worse teams we have seen and he's struggled to break into the best 22. I dont want another Harry Sharp thanks.- Farewell Judd McVee
Its because we simply wouldnt get anything for him and that would be a disaster for us.- Malcolm Rosas Junior

There is a bit about Gus to Linsday i agree. I liken Lindsay to a Hugh McLuggage with his ability to play inside and out. Early days McLuggage was also a winger before he went inside, so I see similarities to that.- Sam Flanders
Sam FlandersโSam Flanders met with four clubs last week in Melbourne โ St Kilda, Melbourne, Essendon and Carlton. โHeโs got a couple of offers in; heโs going to wait for all four offers to come to his manager before he makes a decision. Got two years to run with the Gold Coast Suns, but the view is now heโll return to Victoria and play for one of those clubs. โI think Melbourne is in the box seat because of his strong relationship with Steven King. I think that certainly helps given the time they spent at the Gold Coats Suns, interim coach at the back end of 2023. โHe needs a fresh start, he wants to play more in the midfield, heโs been squeezed in the last 18 months under Damien Hardwick. โAs Sam Edmund reported late last week, St Kilda has come very hard for Sam Flanders, so that spending spree appears to continue.โ King:โFor his football, should he go to St Kilda, or should he go to Melbourne? I just think heโs going to get more opportunity at St Kilda. Cornes: โSt Kilda is a better proposition for him. Iโd rather be playing at St Kilda than Melbourne โ they seem a complete mess the Dees, donโt they?โ King: โComplete mess is strong.โ Cornes: โTheir best player (Christian Petracca) wants out, (Judd) McVee is gone, whoโs pulling the strings? New coach comes inโฆ Iโd rather go to the Saints.โ King: โI agree.โ Gabelich: โMelbourne is clearly going to be a big talking point in the trade period. They are going to be as active as anyone for whoโs coming and whoโs going.โ- Sam Flanders
SEN with Kane and Kingy- Sam Flanders
Heard that too, Gaeblich is similar to Twomey in terms of having good sources.- 2025 Player Reviews: #20 Xavier Lindsayย
Absolute gun. Would love to see him get more of an inside role next year. You can build a solid midfield around both he and Langford.- Trade Targets
