  1. Need to take one step back to then take two steps forward.
  2. He's always been my number 1 preference for our next captain by a long way. Glad others are starting to realise what an incredibly influential leader he is.
  3. We won't miss the 8, but I don't think we make top 4 in my honest opinion. There is still concerns with our forward line which obviously got shown out during the finals series. There is also some concerns around Pettys injury. Speaking to a player this off season who I bumped into up here and he stated that the injury in itself was pretty significant and the club will take all precautionary measures. Reckons he might not be back in full training around mid to late February.. but that was purely his own opinion. I also have concerns around our midfield and ruck depth. Last year we did have Harmes, Grundy, Jordon ready to step in immediately when needed, but this year our depth is very thin with young players like Woewodin who are still unknown at senior level. We've been very lucky that the likes of Petracca, Viney and Brayshaw have been playing consistently each week for the past 2 years, but they're also getting older as well so the hits and knocks will probably get to them at some stage next year. The way I see it is that next year will be a year where we'll take a step back purely because I think we'll focus on getting some games into kids such as Howes, Turner, Adams, Woewodin, Laurie, Windsor, Tholstrup, AMW and even Will Varrell with the hope that we can then catapult again with a rejuvenated list for the next few years. I would be okay with this if it means it gives us the opportunity to extend our premiership window for the next few years.
  4. Photo gallery is up. https://www.melbournefc.com.au/albums/1470139/afl-training-gallery-pre-season-begins?modal=true&type=gallery&playlistId=1470139&playlistSize=10 Jefferson certainly looks like he's added a little bit of weight on. Sparrow is a pure ball of muscle. Blake Howes looks like he's put on a bit of weight as well. Woey looking very fit.
  5. I see Collingwood have invited 204cm ex Port Adelaide ruckman Brynn Teakle down for a chance to trial with them over the summer for a spot on their rookie list. You would think this would have made far more sense from a list perspective. Of course out of all teams it had to be Collingwood with the smart list decision here.....
  6. When training officially starts he is not allowed to commence training at the footy club on official duties. Has to train away from the club full stop.
  7. What on earth.. Have I completely said something very sensitive here?
  8. He is. Using the yellow footy to cover his belongings for a photo shoot it seems....
  9. He deserves his spot on the list. Forward structure completely broke down in the finals the moment he did his knee. I don't think he ever gets back to his best but from and off field leadership and coaching point of view he's worth the contract.
  10. Apparently will be put on the list on the 27th of November?
  11. Jesus.. Nathan looks like he could still play with the set of pipes he's got going on..
  12. I wouldn't say he nullified Max considering it was actually Darcy Fort who was wo was playing majority of ruck for the night. Fullarton had 4 hitouts for the whole night lol.. Max was very close to pulling out of the game due to his injury he was carrying and he's even admitted this. Had to play under extreme duress throughout the game and it showed as the night went on. It was more Max playing in pain more then anything. Fullarton had zero influence on the night.
  13. Agree 100% I thought a mature back up ruckman was a much bigger need then Marty Hore and made more sense. If Gawn goes down then, I would hate to see how Fullarton/Schache would go against a English/Luke Jackson/ Rowan Marshall and even Grundy... eek.
  14. That's why he's lasted all the way to pick 58. The game is going away from big bodied midfielders like Ollie's Wines and it's absolutely no coincidence Wines has struggled the past few years because thr game has gone quicker and less contested. He'll play senior footy but he'll be found out very quickly for his poor athletic ability and zero speed.
  15. Or we could just simply forget about him considering he's in GWS colours now and we throw our full support behind Tholstrup instead......
  16. Which is fine. But he really does need to be realistic with his player comparisons.
  17. He compared Brown to Errol Gulden.. 🥴 I like shifter, but I think it's time for him to retire.
  18. Nope. Especially as we have filled that spot with Marty Hore.
  19. How about poor Ryley Sanders getting his jumper presented by Lindsay Gilbee lol Poor kid.
