The issue is with bringing Grundy back is the domino effect it has on our forward line when he's down there. He's a liability down there, and it's not like he's crashing packs or bringing the ball down. His lack of forward IQ and inability to time his leads to create space has a net effect on the rest of our forwards because our system simply doesn't flow on as what it has prior to the Carlton game. The coaches have now clearly identified this and dropped him once again. If the coaches didn't think Gawn couldn't handle being the sole ruckman then they wouldn't have made the decision themselves.

It's no coincidence that some of the best footy this year we've played purely when Gawn was playing as a lonesome. Come off it.. If we win or lose the flag it will be purely nothing to do with Grundy and based on whole team performance. Not surprised that you don't understand that but.

Did the job against McInerney and Daniher, O'Brien and Thilthorpe, Soldo and Miller and then Goldstein and Xerri. You guys actually make out like Gawn hasn't made a career out of smashing two ruckman in a game. Before Jackson, Gawn was racking up All Australians purely as a single ruckman who was getting double team each week. Besides, Cox and Cameron are two of the softest ruckman in the game and don't even convince me otherwise.

Sheesh where do I sign??

I think Goody has handled this whole Grundy situation perfectly. I think the plan was to give the Gawndy combo one more look before finals which was last week, and it simply didn't work. All good, I have no issues with giving it one more game and I think in hindsight if Goodwin had his chance again he might no have selected last week. Barring an injury to Gawn from here I think we've seen the last of Grundy in red and blue as I believe he'll request a trade (would be silly not to for his own career sake).

They won't. But I'm happy to bring it for them.

Paging @goodwindees......

It's always the good ones...

Of course he'd say that...

It's still a L next to our name and pretty much cost us top 2 spot.

Would have preferred Woewodin myself, but what other options did we have in mind?

Think it's fair to say we won't see Grundy again this year unless injury to Gawn. Forward experiment hasn't and won't work but I think for he's sake he'd be silly not to seek further opportunities elsewhere.

Hibbo isn't named emergency. Smith will go forward, Tommo down back and Laurie as a midfield/forward. Jordon will be sub

Absolutely love these changes btw!

Mark Williams coached him at Werribee. I think we've certainly put the feelers out to his management knowing Brown and McDonald will be on their last legs/retire.

It tells us that we're simply doing just fine without him and he's not highly influential as some on here are making him out to be. It's telling enough that Simon Goodwin has been willing to drop him a couple of times this year and preferred Chandler who's made greater impact from an offensive and defensive aspect. Personally I think he'll come in for Jordon which I think is the wrong move because playing 4 smalls hasn't really worked for us this year imo.

Our win loss ratio when Spargo is playing this year is 8-5. When he isn't playing it's 6-2. We're just fine without him thanks.

As evident against Brisbane where he turned it over badly in our front half and gave Brisbane all that momentum to pile on 7 of the next 8 goals for Brisbane. I also think he's body language this year has been [censored] poor this year. The constant waving of arms and screaming at his teammates to give it to him when even he's not in a comfortable spot himself has been poor from his end. He did this to Kynan Brown who on the weekend who in fairness should have given the hands off, but instead of going up to him and patting him on the back he had his arms out and shook his head out of frustration. Didn't even go up to him and explain so which was disappointing. No coincidence that we haven't seen him since Brisbane and hopefully it stays that way.

Yes. Fritta will be ready next week and based on form it's a direct swap for me.
-
Correct, he's been dropped.
-
Don't stoop to his level with this sort of stuff mate.

I'd like to see them give Bailey Luaurie a go in place or James Jordon

Right choice
