  1. Lol.. he's not going to publicity come out express a desire that he wanted to leave. He played a straight bat and exactly the answer you'd expect from someone that either had every intention of wanting to leave or was at least putting some serious consideration into it. Was speaking with an ex colleague last Thursday who worked with the Murray Bushrangers and is from Shepparton way. He knows his Dad Steve very well. His old man confirmed to him that Oliver and his family desperately wanted to leave for Geelong, but due to our high demand, Geelong could not cater to our needs. The asking price was too much for Geelong. The Oliver family/camp are incredibly disgruntled with the Dees in how this has all unfolded. Similar to the Petracca situation, there is some serious amending of the bridges that will need occur over the off season. You can spin whatever narrative you want about the media, but Oliver absolutely wanted to leave Melbourne.
  2. His after trade period press conference interview with the media.
  3. Tim Lamb has said we won't be going down the delisted free agent path this year. Put a line through him.
  4. Genuinely thought he was going to be a star forward for us after 2018. As others have point out, the moment he'd drop his head his confidence would be shot to the point where he looked like his emotions was going to spill over. Good luck to him.
  5. Armstrong at 5 is still too much of a reach. I don't rate him at all, I'd be disappointed if we picked him at 5.
  6. Both different, Langfords ability to play as a marking forward and score goals is why I have him ahead.
  7. Anyone check in on @bluey?
  8. Any news on Joel Smith?
  9. Beat me to it. Imagine getting a Cooper Hynes and Jobe Shanahan for instance on top of a Langford/Smith/Draper/ Smillie with pick 5 🤤
  10. I'm pretty sure I read that we'll potentially place Mentha on our Cat B list.
  11. Andrew might be the one we take with our late pick if he gets a bid.
  12. Actually a good interview by Lamb. So as it stands we have Smith, Tomlinson and Hore out of contract. From a list point of view where that leave us for list spots if say Tomlinson and Smith were delisted??
  13. No that's entirely incorrect. McKay was still crashing packs at under 18 level, was doing it each week with Gippsland Power. Cadman is vanilla and will be nothing more then a good ordinary forward. And who exactly are these competitive forwards that they've brought in? Schache? Jefferson? Fullarton? For me, Armstrong lacks intensity and second efforts. I see too much of Jefferson and Weideman in him. Not only that, hes a double grabber. I've watched games this year where whilst he puts himself in good easy position, he either doesn't complete his marks or double grabs.
  14. Trade period officially done. No Derksen.
  15. This is why Armstrong is a big no no for me. Lacks competitiveness and reminds me too much of Sam Weideman.
  16. Club doesn't owe anyone with any special treatment. Otherwise Nathan Jones would be a premiership player. Regardless of whether you're son of a gun or not, I want to recruit players who show glimpse of being potential AFL standard. I don't see it with Noah at all unfortunately.
  17. He's not AFL standard in my opinion and I wouldn't be offering him a rookie spot. Save it for Riak Andrew.
  18. I'm here waiting. I think your sources have stitched you up here brother..... Cover letter was just a gimmick from Seek.com
  19. I've got Smith and Draper gone before our pick hence why I have Langford as our number one choice.
  20. If you remember back to when Petracca was in his just for days he was very similar in terms of just banging it on the boot as well. His disposal was sloppy but he showed he had all the basic fundamentals of being a superstar once he entered an AFL environment. I see that with Smillie. Langford is a serious gun. Either way I'd be happy. Langford being able to also be as dangerous up forward is why I have him.ahead.
  21. I've been a big Langford fan, but Jeez I'm slowly coming around to Smillie.
  22. I've seen a few comments on Lindsay that say he's similar to Billings. I don't see it that way at all. During the Coates League he played majority of his games as an inside midfielder and showed that he was willing to get his hands dirty and win the contested footy. Some vision here.
