  1. Haven't you heard of the old football trueism - Happy body , happy player ?
  2. 8am - Mondays , Wednesdays and Fridays
  3. Well you notice I didn't conclude the spelling on ' excited ' , for fear of appearing to be over the top .
  4. Rivers appeared to do everything at full pace , and was involved in all manouvres whilst I was at training . Sylvia looked primed , fit , and strong , and was probably unlucky not to appear on my 6 highlights list .
  5. 1- Moloney . Involved in everything ; chiselled , tanned ,and IMO, the fittest at the club . 2- Davey . Fit , strong , enthusiastic ; a leader . 3- McLean . Exactly the same as Davey. 4- The indigenous gang . So many x factors . 5- Rivers. Happy , healthy , strong. 6- Casey Fields . An oasis in a desert - literally and metaphysically .
  6. Wona's grabbing of the ball and thrilling dash forward in the last seconds against The Loins was the most spine tingling episode IMO, not to mention his ' war dance ' celebrations .
  7. A bit presumptuous to get too carried away with any of the names listed ,at this stage !
  8. Like most of the diehards on this site , I regularly scour the pages of The HeraldSun and The Age for signs of life at my beloved football club , and call me daft , one-eyed , or blinkered , but I believe we have received more coverage ( mostly informative and positive ) in the last 2 weeks than even The Scum , The Tankers , and The Bummers ,the perennial lovechildren of the editors who are trying to artificially enhance sales . Feelgood recent articles about Watts , Barassi , Connolly , our other newest recruits , Bailey , Green , McLean , Casey Fields ,our membership numbers , and of course , Jimma , are just a few of those stories that immediately spring to mind and keep me feeling optimistic about the path ahead .
  9. I agree , and though I'm loathe to compare him with a player from the opposition , there are remarkable similarities with Nick Riewoldt in demeanor , attitude ,and eloquence . If he can also emulate the StKilda captain's ability on the field then he could well be the superstar we have craved for decades .
  10. Who do you suggest we invite ? Unfortunately Judd is no longer available , and Nathan Buckley has retired !
  11. I too was amazed by this virtual oasis in the middle of a wasteland .
  12. I started the thread originally as I was the one who originally heard the conversation , and whilst I believe there was nothing in the discussion to suggest that it was a hoax , I am prepared to accept the wishes of the Sandringham Football Club representative as sincere .
  13. As the title says - just announced on SEN
  14. Correct . The appoinment and subsequent removal of Paul McNamee smacks of the same ineptitude .
  15. Trent Croad apparently spoke to a group of 10 year olds for a friend's daughter's 'show and tell 'at school , and there are now 30 or so new converts to Hawthorn . It's not impossible to influence impressionable minds
  16. You will therefore understand the symmetry between the IQ levels of the locals and rabid Collingwood supporters , further enhancing the idea to align with the area - and helping to change the club's image from the hackneyed notion of Range Rovers and snow- weekends .
  17. Actually I don't live in the area and rarely work in this store, so I can't really comment other than from my reading of the sales' figures.
  18. I have a store in Fountain Gate Shopping Centre (which is the largest complex in the City of Casey) and one of my major retail items is sporting memorabillia, including framed AFL team photos. In a result which pleasantly amazed me, in order of quantities sold in 2008, Demons' associated products ran (a distant) third after Collingwood and Hawthorn items, suggesting that there is already a handy supporter base where many are suggesting a lost cause in attracting new support.
  19. ..' devilishly handsome ' - methinks not . You must actually be THE MAN to have made a comment like that .
  20. Actually his critical comments regarding StKilda's players' unwillingness to travel long distances to Frankston for training sound remarkably similar to the tirades by many Demonlanders towards the Cranbourne experiment .
  21. Pick 19 and Chris Johnson for McIntosh. Do the deal !
  22. Good suggestion Haydo , but we wouldn't get him on ' the skank girlfriend 'clause , cos she's actually gorgeous.
  23. The fact that Green had arguably his best year yet , despite the team having one of its worst ever , suggests his re-signing is imperative . Why anyone would contemplate trading him is beyond comprehension .
