  1. So what's this guy's name ? BTW just read my first thread and don't get carried away with your vitriol .
  2. Well now that you've given us this gem my fears are allayed .
  3. Yes but did anyone see him do anything positive after quarter time when the pressure was on ?
  4. I'm not talking about ability - Cale possesses it ; I'm talking about coping with pressure .
  5. My point is that fumbling the football under pressure is genetic . People respond differently to pressure , and perhaps the Mortons don't have a genetic propensity to coping well with it .
  6. Yes I know he's young ; yes I know he's inexperienced ; yes I know there's lots of upside to the guy . BUT- If you watched the Hawks succumb to the pressure exerted by the Saints last night ,you may have noticed Cale's brother continually fumble , stutter , and turn over the ball when the heat was applied. My concern now is that it may be a genetic thing because Cale regularly turned it over and missed his targets too when the pressure ultimately came after quarter time .
  7. Bartram - missed the flight Bate - was barely noticed Bell - stranded at Tulla Bruce - was rarely sighted Buckley - exciting but reckless Davey - a poor game Dunn - was rarely sighted Garland - not an influence Jamar - was rarely sighted C. Johnson - not the worst P. Johnson - little to enthuse Jones - a poor game Martin - played a part Miller - our best player Morton - poor under pressure Newton - 5 minute performance Sylvia - junk time possessions Warnock - missed the plane Wheatley - not as impressive Whelan - loose and inefficient Valenti - gave some drive Wonaeamirri- not on ground
  8. Yes WJ I certainly agree on Rich being the standout , with Zaharakis being a major talent. Natanui must be regarded as a player with serious deficiencies with a fundamental inability to read the play ,whilst having a super leap is not necessarily an advantage in the ruck any more - just ask Jeff White .
  9. Bartram - never stopped trying Bate - little too late Bell - just a game Bruce - tried to lead Buckley - skills were suspect Dunn - continued his renaissance Garland - not as effective Green - plenty of endeavour Jamar - tried but ineffective C. Johnson - another good performance P. Johnson - just a game Jones - needs a rest Martin - comfortable in defence Miller - little too late Morton - impressive in bursts Newton - provided a target Sylvia - a poor game Warnock - was rarely noticed Wheatley - not as influential Whelan - not his best Valenti - no major strength Wonaeamirri - exciting too infrequently
  10. The only enlightening thing he said was that assistant coach Sean Wellman awarded free meals to any defenders who kicked goals , which gave him added incentive to work his way forward .
  11. From my perspective he has only expressed fondness for thc club and his former mates here . Remember he didn't want to leave , the club gave him an offer he couldn't refuse ! I'd personally take him back in an instant Let's not get carried away with our importance after an emotion charged win - we're still not world beaters and the rebuilding process is many years in the making !
  12. Bartram - great in close Bate - not as influential Bode - no influence again Bruce - loving the captaincy Buckley - exciting but careless Davey - needed more involvement Dunn - excellent tagging game Garland - continued to impress Green - justified the elevation Jamar - impressively broke even C. Johnson - has finally arrived P. Johnson - some memorable moves Jones - tireless in traffic McLean - restricted with injury Martin - deserves another game Miller - impressive and valuable Sylvia - constantly a presence Warnock - struggled but persisted Wheatley - continued outstanding season Whelan - Whelan of old Valenti - enjoyed the toughness Wonaeamirri - limited but important
  13. Bartram - just a game Bate - signs of growth Bode - has shown nothing Bruce- leading the way Davey - needs consistent involvement Dunn - finally some substance Frawley - a year away Garland - not as influential Green - classy rebounding game Jamar - little to excite C. Johnson - may have arrived P. Johnson - becoming an influence Jones - couldn't break shackles McDonald - happier on ball McLean - not as influential Miller - provided active target Sylvia - tried but failed Warnock - tried but overwhelmed Wheatley - our best player Whelan - lost in battle White - active and valuable Wonaeamirri - limited game influence
  14. He grew up as a Demon supporter .
  15. 6 - Wheatley 5 - Garland 4 - McLean 3 - Green 2 - Bruce 1 - P . Johnson
  16. Bartram - provided more run Bate - little when needed Bode - little to commend Bruce - gave great leadership Davey - not enough input Dunn - needed to impose Frawley - too easily outmuscled Garland - a superlative performance Green - a consistent performance C. Johnson - gave regular drive P. Johnson - continues to impress Jones - struggled to escape McDonald - not a defender McLean - arguably equal best Miller - made an impression Morton - some crucial errors Sylvia - had little input Warnock - too easily outpointed Wheatley - an outstanding performance White - little beyond tapouts Yze - not a liability Wonaeamirri - had little influence
  17. He actually married in to the Gandel family .
  18. No need to mention names but one of the list is a Gandel ( almost as good as a Pratt or Smorgon )
  19. What do you call a Filth supporter in a white tracksuit ? -The bride What do you call a 30 year old female Filth supporter ? -Granny What does a Filthwood supporter use for protection during sex ? -A bus shelter . What's the first question at a Filthwood quiz night ? -What are you looking at ? Two Filthwood kids in a car without any music - who's driving ? -The policeman What's the most confusing day in Filthwood? -Father's Day. How do people know Jesus wasn't born in Filthwood? -You try finding three wise men and a virgin there .
  20. Have I said he was crap ? Have I said he had no potential ? Have I said he's not going to be a 200 game player ? Have I said he hasn't shown some terrific form ? I doubt there's any rational supporter who could say Morton's game hasn't ( understandably ) deteriorated from his early outstanding displays .
  21. 6 - Garland 5 - McLean 4 - Wheatley 3 - McDonald 2 - Green 1- Aussie
  22. Bartram - appalling disposal skills Bate - was totally outplayed Bell - no further reprieve Bode - not a footballer Bruce - prolific but wasteful Dunn - had limited impact Garland - has established himself Green - classy and involved Johnson - a pleasing game Jones - slow but determined McDonald - excellent stopping game McLean - never stopped trying Miller - an important contribution Moloney aggressive and valuable Morton - is going backwards Rivers - had limited influence Sylvia - limited but effective Warnock - has cemented position Wheatley - an excellent game White - game's best ruckman Yze - dangerous but selfish Wonaeamirri - perfect opportunist's game
  23. Unbelievable ! In nearly 40 years of watching the Dees I don't think I've come across a less talented footballer .
  24. Hinch disowned the Dees about 5 years ago !
