  1. Unbelievable ! In nearly 40 years of watching the Dees I don't think I've come across a less talented footballer .
  2. Hinch disowned the Dees about 5 years ago !
  3. Actually I liked the alternate strip , except for the long-sleeved version as worn by Brock in the last quarter .
  4. Bartram - disposal was childlike Bate - more was needed Bell - becoming a nonentity Bruce - provided no leadership Buckley - promising but limited Dunn - Jane not Tarzan Frawley - devoid of presence Garland - continued his renaissance Green - needs more consistency Johnson - some exciting moments Jones - feeling the pressure McDonald - just a shadow McLean - more was required Miller - tried but limited Moloney - persistent but erratic Robertson - insignificant before calamity Sylvia - just a game Warnock - a pleasing performance Wheatley - easily our best White - stagnant and ineffectual Yze - some life yet Wonaemirri - could not escape
  5. The name's not on the list , but if Moloney plays most of the season I think he has a strong chance.
  6. Bartram - too many clangers Bate - classy and involved Bell - loose and careless Bruce - brave and effective Buckley - an important game Davey - angry and classy Frawley - had little influence Garland - a pleasant surprise Green - wonderful defensive game Holland - played his part Jamar - excellent tap work Johnson - had little involvement Jones - terrific second half McDonald - was well beaten McLean - fantastic four quarters Miller - merely started well Moloney - continuing fine season Morton - calm under pressure Robertson - terrific until injured Warnock - may have arrived Valenti - little to enthuse Wonaeamirri - exciting and talented
  7. Apart from promises and plans ( none of which have come to fruition ) and a coach advocating youth (because of a poor senior list ) what is there to be proud about ? I love the club , and I love the colours , and I love the history , but I see nothing yet to suggest that we are on any sort of road to recovery on any level ; please explain your seemingly baseless remark .
  8. My bugbear has to do with the voting by media 'experts ' who are influenced by final quarter heroics by the winning team , and ignore the earlier quarters where the losing team's players may have dominated , along with the team .
  9. Bartram - still finding way Bate - wonderful second half Bell - still in dreamland Bruce - true captain's game Carroll - played little part Davey - creative and inspiring Frawley - feeling at home Garland - some surprising effectiveness Green - maintained his influence Jamar - responded to responsibility Jones - uncharacteristically quiet game McDonald - never stopped running McLean - continued to excell Miller - finally a leader Moloney - continued excellent form Morton - some important touches Rivers - some creative interceptions Robertson - inspiring last quarter Warnock - surprised us all Wheatley - continually outstanding kicking White - just a game Wonaeamirri - vitality and inspiration
  10. I saw a casually attired and dishevelled McNamee early this morning , about 10 David Neitz drop punts from the courts at Kooyong where he originally made his name , and I hope he'll be wearing a suit and working on his appearance before speaking to a marquee player , 'cos it wasn't a good look . BTW ,I am always well attired and groomed , even in the early hours .
  11. It may very well be , BUT he's probably right when we talk about QUALITY of possessions .
  12. Give him a crack at full forward with the license to break open packs for Aussie and a lethargic Davey . He's being paid , his Sandy form ( when not injured ) has been exceptional ,so he deserves his chance even if he is ancient . Many may argue that he's not the future of the club , but either are McDonald, Robertson , White , Jamar , etc, etc ,etc . They are getting regular games whether they deserve them or not , and at least Holland gives us a chance to be competitive up forward with his Tarzan- like build .
  13. A little unfair on me I believe . If you check my next post ( Votes )I gave Bruce second top marks , and Green 4th best .

    6 - Moloney 5 - Bruce 4 - Jones 3 - Green 2 - Aussie 1 - Sylvia
  15. Bartram - not on field Bell - not on Earth Bruce - was actually trying Carroll - may have played Davey - not on field Dunn - didn't actually play Frawley - very limited ability Green - was actually trying Jamar - probably stayed awake Jones - continued to excell McDonald -was probably asleep McLean - portrayed a statue Miller - may have played Moloney - was actually trying Morton - showed us nothing Rivers - probably didn't play Robertson - definitely didn't play Sylvia - certainly on field Warnock - playing at Sandy Wheatley - was actually selected White - probably on field Wonaeamirri - wanted another game
  16. Jones has gone backwards this year , but I guess he's not Robinson Crusoe , and McLean has obviously dropped in the pecking order due to his indiscretions Junior and Bruce were the obvious ( and only ) candidates IMO.
  17. Which Carlton guy was he " way bigger than " ? The guy must have been a midget !
  18. Bailey stated that there were others ( already ) on the list that would likely be tried before Valenti , and that he ( Valenti ) would have to continue to prove himself before promotion .
  19. 10 News just reported news of a mystery neck injury likely to keep our skipper out for some time , thus forcing the decision that the coaching panel seemed unwilling to make .
  20. Should we put all our eggs into 1 basket and go for broke , or just go broke ?
  21. ....and Bell made 3 , so we only had 19 on the team sheet !
  22. Batram - becoming more confident Bell - was rarely noticed Bruce - excellent tagging game Carroll - had no influence Davey - better second half Dunn - too many clangers Frawley - pleasing defender's game Green - showed great class Jamar - continued to plod Jones - feeling the pinch McDonald - gave good run McLean - fabulous 4 quarters Moloney - match defining error Morton - significant learning curve Neitz - poor before injury Rivers - still so classy Robertson - a better contribution Sylvia - may have arrived Wheatley - was rarely sighted Whelan - flew the flag White - lttle but tapwork Wonaeamirri - continuing to please
