To add insult to injury , the fitness guru at the resurgent Kangaloos is a fanatical Demon suporter !

Whelan Carroll Warnock Bizzell Rivers Yze Petterd T. Johnstone C. Johnson Pickett P. Johnson Davey Garland Jamar Hughes Neaves , Bartram Bode
-
Brown - heart , no skill Ferguson - heart , no skill Miller - nothing at all Bell - needed the run Ward - made up numbers Holland - heart , no skill Bruce - skill , no heart McDonald - a poor game Green - many meaningless possessions Buckley - little to commend Newton - played without intensity Robertson - just a shadow Neitz - please rest now White - a valiant performance Bate - is going backwards Jones - still a beacon Wheatley - many usless disposals Frawley -kept at task Godfrey- heart no skill Sylvia- couldn't get going Moloney- probably wasn't playing McLean - career worst game
-
Only 3 players turned up in the first half : White , Godfrey , and Jones

He's certainly not the most glamorous , athletic or skilled player to ever grace the field in the red and blue , but for the life of me I cannot understand why Dutchy is always so roundly maligned and derided by , not only those on this site , but also the match committee that gives him such limited opportunities . He is very rarely carved up by an opponent ,whether in defence or attack ,which cannot be said for many others who continue to be selected ahead of him ,and there is nobody who can argue that he doesn't give his all , which can also not be said for many others in the current side . While the team is crying out for a defender who can stand the Browns , Roccas , and Fevolas of the world , Holland gives way to undersized Miller , Carroll , and Frawley - none of whom can successfully manage the task ,whilst we are constantly crying out for a large target at CHF ,yet continue to play the undersized and underweight Robertson , Bate , Dunn , and Sylvia . Where is the logic ?

Brown - flawed but tried Carroll - playing without purpose Bizzell - continues to achieve Wheatley - seemed totally lost Ward - diabolical foot disposal C. Johnson - was barely noticed Green - tried but failed Moloney - a welcome return Buckley - occasional nice touches Godfrey - was completely outplayed Miller - had no imput McDonald - honest as always Sylvia - continued spirited effort McLean - was well held Frawley- thrown to wolves Jones - great first half Newton - screamer , little else Robertson - injured but tried Neitz - injured , needs holiday White - totally one dimensional P. Johnson - very rarely sighted Bate - an abysmal game
-
Brown - continued working tirelessly Carroll - a steady performance Bizzell - playing for keeps Ward - playing for loss C. Johnson - displayed more attitude P. Johnson - was barely there McLean - McLean we love Robertson - a selfish performance McDonald - not as prolific Davey - slowly became relevant Miller - a huge underachiever White - a tireless game Newton - had no influence Garland - had no influence Frawley - had no influence Buckley - had no influence Dunn - had no influence Sylvia - made worthwhile contributions Wheatley - couldn't maintain form Godfrey - was comprehensively beaten Jones - continued outstanding form Bate - fumbled under pressure

What about looking at some of the Sudanese giants who are living here - not only are they tall and athletic , they apparently know how to look after themselves too

It must be Holland to come in to match up with Brown .

Demonland Player of The Year Votes v Carlton
joeboy replied to warren dean's topic in Melbourne Demons
It's intersting that Sylvia was included by all in the votes , and I personally regarded him as our most important , but impartial ( and not necessarily stupid ) journalists from both The Age and The Herald Sun didn't even include him in our top 7 players on the day, -
Brown - didn't hold ball Carroll - average until injured Bizzell - rock in defence Ward - terrible decision making Miller - playing out time Petterd - season ending injury Wheatley - wonderful field kicking Dunn - needs game time McDonald - prolific as expected Bate - wonderful second half Newton - cause for excitement Jones - seaon's best game Sylvia - easily our best C. Johnson - tried but disappointed P. Johnson - tried and impressed White - dominated as required McLean - passion overwhelms performance Robertson - sublime but flawed Davey - lacking the sparkle Frawley - kicking has improved Godfrey - was outpointed easily Buckley - made little impression
-
Rodney Eade made a point of speaking to his leadership group before embarking on the Akermanis sideshow and garnered the attitude from the players' representatives , so he is obviously just 'shooting from the hip' as expected .
-
6 - Mac 5 - Bruce 4 - Davey 3 - Sylvia 2 - Johnstone 1 - Ward
-
Brown - turned back clock Carroll - looked at sea Bizzell - gave away height Ward - a commendable effort Bell - unfortunate early injury Green - had no influence Johnstone - had minimal influence Bate - thrown around field Bruce - prolific ball winner McDonald - pure committed effort Davey - the better Davey Robertson - great third quarter Neitz - played on courage Johnson - continuing to impress Wheatley - had little influence Jones - couldn't break tackles White - controlled centre circle McLean - consecutive disappointing games Sylvia - brilliant in bursts Godfrey - impressive and determined Petterd - showed impressive glimpses Newton - an impressive debut
-
My point is that he's targetting the wrong players .
-
Daniher doesn't have the time to get out and see most of the potential recruits and must rely on CAC's recommendations.

Why are you such an apologist for Cameron ? I can't see that he's had such an impeccable record .He may have had a few successes with on - ballers along the way , but his record with KPP players leaves alot to be desired , IMO , and at the end of the day our success or otherwise is inextricably determined by big men not on- ballers . Has a contingency plan been set for post Neitz life ? No, and the jury is out on Newton . Is anyone being developed to assume a key defensive post ? Rivers will take one role , but we know Carroll is not the answer for the other , whilst Frawley will need 2 - 3 seasons . Is anyone being groomed for CHF ? No , and there's nobody on the horizon . Is anyone being groomed to assume the ruck mantle from White ? Jamar is not the answer , Johnson has improved out of sight , but will never be a number 1 , whilst Neaves has hardly set the TBO alight .

Ward - failed to inspire Carroll - was totally overwhelmed Bizzell - played with purpose Bell - little to commend Bate - an inconsistent performance Wheatley - good when trying Yze - a wasted selection Pickett - fat and disinterested Davey - just a shadow Green - had little influence White - our only winner Johnson - just plodded along Holland - gave his utmost Petterd - showed some class Frawley - out of depth Bruce - disposal still amateurish McDonald - surprisingly quiet game McLean - not captain's performance Godfrey - tried his hardest Sylvia - continues to frustrate Robertson - no second efforts Jones - lacked peripheral vision
-
I was nearly murdered a few years ago for calling out to Lockyer that he should get a real ( first ) name .
-
Bell - maintaining the rage Carroll - aggressive and reliable Holland - was da man Ward - tight and attacking Bizzell - back to General Johnstone - missed the flair Bate - becoming so dependable McDonald - prolific and dedicated Davey - unusually unreliable disposal Bruce - kicking was disgraceful Sylvia - has finally arrived McLean - everything one expects Neitz - gave team direction Robertson - loved centre stage White - shared rucking honours Johnson - gives us hope Petterd - calm and assured Frawley - suspect under pressure Green - match saving mark Jones - classy and aggressive Wheatley - wonderful field kicking Godfrey - disciplined and reliable
-
It is certainly Brock to whom you refer . He has an obviously highly toned and buffed upper body , but it is supported by puny , chicken - like pins .
-
I'd love Judd , but Pavlich is also coming off contract , and I'd love him more .
-
Brown - a vital component Carroll - master of defence Bizzell - flawed but useful Bell - career best performance Wheatley - defied the critics Ward - effective but reckless Johnstone - used only sparingly McDonald - dynamic and important Bate - applied himself well Green - prolific possession winner Bruce - gave team impetus Robertson - had little influence Neitz - always provided contests White - experience paid dividends McLean - great in bursts Davey - sensational until injured Johnson - improving each game Jones - great early on Petterd - showed excellent composure Frawley - showed encouraging glimpses Sylvia - displayed commendable aggression Godfrey - wonderful stopping game
-
I'm talking about muscle not weight . For starters, look at Miller , Jones , Carroll , Rivers , Bruce , even Neitz and McLean - they are all much less muscle-bound than they were last year . They are obviously not puny when compared with normal human beings , but line them up against The West Coast , Adelaide , Hawthorn , and even the Kangaroos , there is no denying that we pale significantly in strength , by comparison .
-
Fitness is not an issue . The problem rests with the decision to scale back the weights and put the emphasis on lighter bodies and speed . We can see the puny bodies against every team we've played this year , and ironically we appear to have become slower too .
