  1. Actually Watts already looks as if there is some body development taking place ; the same certainly can't be said for Morton whose body shape looks to be regressing
  2. He was the full forward and had over 20 possessions - he may not have ' earnt ' them , but probably deserved them IMO.
  3. It's far from relevant to the real world now , but he played an under age game against my son's team 4 years ago and he kicked either 5 or 6 goals from CHB . To further rub salt into the wound , he also dominated an underage basketball game against my son's team around the same time .
  4. I don't understand how the stats ' flattered him a little ' . He either got the ball or he didn't , and the stats say he did ! There wasn't much else he could have done as a forward .
  5. Embarrassingly insipid performance from Frankston who are unlikely to exist beyond this season if they cannot amalgamate with an AFL side . Of the Demon players PJ was totally dominant in the ruck and Newton showed an increasing propensity to chase , tackle , and make second efforts .IMO he was more impressive than Miller who also showed out against meagre opposition . Bartram was easily BOG , and is obviously very comfortable in this environment . I continue to be impressed by McKenzie, an unfashionable hard nut who appears to have a touch of the x factor to him . Bail gave alot of drive , as did Valenti before injury . Watts was a standout because of his coolness under pressure and his ability to make quick decisions with clever use of the football from either foot . He seemed to enjoy the freedom of playing on a wing or flank and regularly brought team mates into the game with an uncanny ability to make something out of nothing . He was easily the best 18 year old on the field . Whelan was Whelan and enjoyed the freedom to move forward and kick a goal in true rover style , which is not his forte . Bennell didn't play and may have been held in reserve as a last minute replacement for tomorrow's game . .
  6. I don't want to pat myself on the back too much , and I may have been stating the ' bleeding obvious ' but I did pick it in my 3 word player analysis this week ( ' a certain nominee ' )
  7. 6 - Bruce 5 - Grimes 4 - Jamar 3 - McLean 2 - Moloney 1 - Martin
  8. Bate - effective but limited Bennell - was rarely sighted Bruce - outstanding all game Davey - only brief glimpses Frawley - solid and dependable Green - prolific and determined Grimes - a certain nominee Jamar - a vital presence Jetta - had limited influence Jones - brave but slowwww Jurrah - some exciting cameos Martin - another promising performance McLean - terrific in close McDonald - gave some grunt Moloney - strong and aggressive Morton - seemingly without passion Petterd - some effective disposals Rivers - Rivers of old Robertson - Robertson of old Sylvia - made another statement Warnock - loved his energy Wheatley - provided some composure
  9. Duh ! OK then let's recruit him as a centreman .
  10. This conjecture is just too ridiculous for words - Scully may be better on a flank !
  11. I'm sorry for my late involvement in this , but is it too late to suggest that I will frame it free of charge - it is afterall part of my business as a picture framer / gallery owner that I regularly frame sporting memorabilia . If the jumper is left at either my Malvern or Fountain Gate stores , I can have it framed , with a plaque denoting the relevant information included , within a week . Please advise ASAP if I can be of help .
  12. 6 - Davey 5 - Bruce 4 - Sylvia 3 - Martin 2 - Grimes 1 - Jurrah
  13. Bennell - much to learn Bruce - never stopped trying Davey - classy as usual Frawley - tried but failed Green - had little influence Grimes - stuck to task Jetta - disposal was disappointing Johnson - murdered in centre Jones - tried but failed Jurrah - cause for optimism Martin - growing in confidence McLean - needs rest immediately Miller - a casual observer Moloney - failed to impress Morton - played without intensity Petterd - little to enthuse Rivers - totally one dimensional Robertson - career is over Sylvia - quieter but pleasing Whelan - game has passed Warnock - was well beaten Watts - had occasional involvement
  14. I agree with your summation , but think he's more like a reincarnation of Paul Hopgood - probably the worst skilled footballers I have ever seen in 45 years of watching the Dees religiously . They look alike too !
  15. Anyone remember the hype surrounding McLean and Sylvia ,who both dominated TAC competitions ,but have failed to reach dominant levels in senior company ?
  16. ......and you tell me to ' grow up ' ! Yes I can see GC offering us the world for Miller , he's exactly what they need .
  17. Not a fair comparison with Watts for so many reasons , but I agree with your summation of Jurrah's game .
  18. 6 - Green 5 - Johnson 4 - Moloney 3 - Frawley 2 - Martin 1 - Davey
  19. Bartram - league's worst kick Bate - a casual observer Bennell - was rarely sighted Bruce - possessions lacked impact Cheney - was rarely sighted Davey - too many turnovers Frawley - terrific all night Green - our only professional Grimes - stuck to task Jetta - all at sea Johnson - strong all night Jurrah - cause for excitement Martin - career best game McLean - better but slow Miller - gave no leadership Moloney - heart of team Morton - career has stalled Rivers - was well beaten Robertson - little to commend Sylvia - continued his renaissance Watts - some nice touches Whelan - oh so loose
  20. and either was Brett Ratten.
