  1. As if Goodwin would say he was crap?
  2. Tyson - Joeboy finally vindicated
  3. Jones - dynamic and consistent Hogan - quieter but focused Oliver - prolific and clean Tyson - a momentum killer T.McDonald - outstanding first half Hannan - always looked dangerous Neal-Bullen - finally justified retention Salem - silky smooth mover Spargo - provided forward pressure Brayshaw - continued impressive form Melksham - clever and unselfish Gawn - provided first use Hibberd - back to best Harmes - prolific ball winner Petracca - just a game Fritsch - a classy mover Jetta - reliable when needed Lever - safe and steady Lewis - the consummate professional O.McDonald - almost always safe Vince - consistently good decisions Weidemann - another irrelevant game
  4. It’s not country football?‍♂️
  5. Hogan - continued outstanding season T.McDonald - a significant impact Weideman - junk time possessions Neal-Bullen - replace with Viney Petracca - was obviously underdone Jones - impressive captain’s game Brayshaw - career best game Gawn - was masterful again Harmes - important but careless Oliver - back to best Spargo - love his endeavour Tyson - prolific but wasteful Hannan - made an impact Melksham - not as potent Fritsch - lots to like Hibberd - returned to best Hunt - effective but lacking Jetta - brave and reliable Lever - improving each game Lewis - professional and important O.McDonald - underrated and important Vince - barely wasted possessions
  6. Much like Gary Lyon’s trite interview with Goodwin during the 1/2 time break in the StKilda match.

Fritsch<>Brad Green - both left footers - both strong overhead - both mercurial around goals - both have meticulously groomed hair
  8. I believe McCartin will suffer from the same syndrome our own John Fidge did about 30 years back. He came to us as a man-mountain of a 17 year old who'd dominated schoolboy football because..he could, but either through lack of desire or lack of appropriate coaching for a precociously talented junior, he failed to rise to any heights and was eventually shafted to Brisbane and ignominy.

Dunn turned up to play this year looking overweight and obviously with the wrong mindset.. it's come back to bite him on his not-indistinguishable arse

Dennis Cometti has occasionally let slip that the Dees have always been his sentimental favorites
  11. Watch footage of him on You Tube and you'll be hugely impressed . He's a boy mountain , and obviously still growing , whilst his athleticism for one so tall is outstanding , as is his desire to put himself into a contest . I think we can feel as excited about this one as we do about our first two picked prodigies .

Actually Watts already looks as if there is some body development taking place ; the same certainly can't be said for Morton whose body shape looks to be regressing

It's far from relevant to the real world now , but he played an under age game against my son's team 4 years ago and he kicked either 5 or 6 goals from CHB . To further rub salt into the wound , he also dominated an underage basketball game against my son's team around the same time .
  14. Flower - graceful , stylish , unmannable , skinny Schwarz - guile , strength , heart , passion Jakovic - genius , accurate , thrilling , tough Parke - probably the best mark ever at the club ( in my lifetime ) Tingay - stylish , determined , exquisitely skilful

As I mentioned elsewhere , I recall this talented young man following up his 8 goals with the Dees by taking 8 wickets a week or two later as an opening bowler with the Melbourne district cricket first eleven.

Smoker ended his football career with Williamstown 2nds at the end of last season.

Does anyone remember a player by the name of David Hone, who played as an amateur ( or came from the amateurs ) and who was a brilliant and courageous standout immediately at centre half back, but then disappeared, virtually overnight ,possibly to continue his studies?

I believe Cuthbertson is still playing good quality senior football in the Diamond Valley League An interesting fact about Glenn Swan is that he followed up his 8 goals for Melbourne by taking 8 wickets the following weekend ( I think ) playing for Melbourne 1sts in District Cricket .
