  1. Fairytale#1: May winning the Norm and giving his premiership medal to Jake M. Fairytale#2: Grundy getting a horses-for-courses gig next Thursday, ripping it apart, then taking that form through two more games (Fairytale#2A: The second of those being a Collingwood rematch) p.s. Thank you, everyone, for not taking up @SPC's offer to nominate players from other clubs. How will anyone be able to qualify anyway?! p.p.s. The above views do not necessarily reflect the author's residual MFCSS. Go away, QF favouritism!
  2. That's the guy! And the 'BBB' will be vacant? (p.s. I hope BBB1 does keep up / increase his WDees involvement)
  3. I mentioned this once before: the guy who was BOG for Norwood Redlegs in 2022 GF. Shepp boy?
  4. Yes, yes, yes, says my long-distant childhood.
  5. Surprised, but pleased 'MGE' tops the list! Shaping up to pull further ahead in AFLW8, too! Can't W8 😄
  6. If Port lose today, and we win, they would then have the concussion problem in the OP scenario. Gee, this is fun. (Off track, Warning: Be it 11, 12, 13 or 14 days, the extended vacuum will probably be puzzle time on here. I'm afraid I've got one in the wings...)
  7. Saving it up for the empty 11/12/13/14 days ahead?
  8. @Dees_In_October, you need something to keep this on the front board. Well done; it's worth it!
  9. Well, that sorts out one part of the puzzle, and an MCG final becomes more likely: now, the less-likely outcome of one of Brisbane or Port losing is required for it to be otherwise, if/when we win. If the really unlikely scenario occurs - that they both lose - we get a home final regardless of our result! Saturday night's D'Land chat will be fun!
  10. ...presuming Brisbane beats St Kilda, which will be known by then.
  11. Goodwin: We certainly won't be resting players "unless they're forced to rest." Wriggle room 😉
  12. I want Tomlinson to succeed (as I do all our players), particularly after his cruel 2021 after early great signs, but... On what it is claimed he does to release Lever, I note that in Jake's biggest intercept quarter today, the last, Adam had been subbed off. Early, too, it looked like body and brain are starting to let him down: Koschitzke(?) got the jump on him more than once. Got some sympathy, though, for the Tommo-as-sub idea (subject to those other tantalising 'ins' prospects...)
  13. ...and there's a little face-the-crowd cheer-leader-in-waiting over in our bay. Kept us going nicely. Sign him up, DA!
  14. You can sit at the near edge of the GA bays abutting the DA's bays, like we do. Chants and the rest of the good vibe very easy to join in on (though there is the occasional oppo stirrer to contend with!)
  15. Not commenting on BG's future; just noting Max, in his interview with Jack V this week, said AA ruckman Mark Jamar never let him win a ruck contest at training but Verrall manages to beat him on occasions.
  16. So, so many to choose from, but...
  17. Thanks for yet another challenge, good sir! I'm sure you have a Max-like 200 in you and look forward to them all 🙂 Nominating 'lead singers', I went too specific first up, but also not specific enough in presuming Rod Stewart, Van Morrison, etc.. So, per my most recent PM, somewhere between a 'Do'h!' and a 'Grrrr!' 😉
  18. This thread should attract more individual posters than any other, ever. I was there the day the gangly lump kicked 4(?) at Casey. I attach myself to all the foregoing about Max and, I suspect, to all that will follow here!
  19. ...Though if really strongly dislike (I hate the word 'hate') is the criterion, a premiership-winning year out of that May-chopper Hawkins would be my Number Two(s).
  20. I like Grundy in for Petty. However, Goodwin made a bit of a point of how Petty and Van Rooyen combined being part of the last 2 weeks of success in the forward line. Grundy can possibly match Petty in individual capabilities but I wonder whether the 'combo' effect can be matched? Can that be trained, and embedded, particularly in the short time frame since the need arose?
  21. Timmy-Timmy said it, too. There's always two in a shell...
  22. Pics for the 'Show Me The Puppy' thread, please, IHW!
  23. Well done, Brett. In fact, well done all umpires.
