  1. It does attract wordplays, doesn't it, often of the salty variety. DubDee's of an hour ago, innocently Aussie, is a mistake I once made in refeened company. Never again!
  2. Yep. Per her post-selection interview (see OP), in her own words she's been 'in and around the half forward line...trying to create scores for the girls in front'. Looking at her Gaelic footy vision, if she's made the transition from round to oval ball, her delivery skills shouldn't be a problem!
  3. I was hoping to quarantine my MFCSS with the boys, Ever!
  4. Slapping $100mill on it. Time for another house.
  5. Mentors, @Mincho Mania and @DeeZone? I'm imagining something nearer parents: he's arrived at his apparent destiny, has ANDREW D(emetriou/G)ILLON(McLachlan)! And speaking of Dill'n'Gill, the 'Front Bar' lads had them on for a grill last night. Bit of fun.
  6. One of them would lose, though...
  7. It may only me, layz, but... 🤔
  8. Title change noted and acknowledged @Demonland. That was about as vent-y as I can get! 😄
  9. Damn! I get Friday's Age for the DA cryptic crossword and expect some other readability to go with it. Not today, then...
  10. My OP was just at a specific emotional level, DD; the boys finals are dead to me now (unless Collingwood and Carlton both crash and burn...) I've moved on, very happily, to the girls' very entertaining campaign.
  11. Tomorrow night: Jesse and Toby; yes, please. Jeremy, not so much, thank you
  12. Early call, but A. Mackin may be that person!
  13. Didn't he enjoy that 2022 premiership! Go with our blessing, Moose.
  14. Can't they... 😬 (Someone was going to, John; sorry...)
  15. She expects to play half forward, and, with only her Gaelic footy vision to go on, speed, agility, smarts and disposal skills and accuracy suggest she's got Banno's role covered! So, yeah, I think so. Only that 'first game of Aussie Rules, pretty much ever' thingy to deal with! And the sister has that other important goal on her resumé, too!
  16. From the '31 Quotes' article on the Club site: 'Ron had the courage to believe that it could work, even though a lot of people thought he was crazy, out of his mind and destined to fail.' (Jim Stynes on the ‘Irish Experiment’) Grapeviney, yep.
  17. Lining up for the Hawks, one AINE McDonagh. Soft spot, @WalkingCivilWar? 😊
  18. Thanks, What. Is this James- or Club-reported, or only otherwise 'believed'? I'm not fussed; it's just that those threads make it seem factual, from somewhere I've missed.
  19. Just to bring this thread up to date, Melbourne-wise, Luke Dunstan, retired. But also to ask a question: Several threads seem to refer to James Harmes as actually, rather than speculatively, gone. What is his current status?
  20. I hope it's okay to 'take the honours' to start this week's thread. I wanted to acknowledge Aimee Mackin's debut this week and the unfolding repeat (surpassing?) of Melbourne's Irish Experiment success. The Goldy/Macca/Macca story is so uplifting, to have and to watch. https://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/1435443/mackins-moment-aimee-to-debut
  21. Now on Club site.
  22. You obviously missed my gameday post, then! My, those screens are BIG!
  23. Don't know about sliding but - in Alice Springs, go figure - definitely slippery... And then it all became 'slippery' as in 'between our fingers'...
  24. 1. Well said on the experience. But 'stuff' is creeping in. We could lose the PA'd goal scorer 'announcement'... 2. 'Most'? I hope it's more 'more', and trending further!
