  1. Outside only taking 2 players at the draft or upgrading rookies for the remaining spots can anyone explain why we had to trade absolutely everything for pick 9 surely keeping a few other picks would have been useful for some other trades or someone who falls through in the draft
  2. Hope we get smilie looks like the modern prototype 194cm mid. That or just go for the best ball users that seems to be more important than ever these days
  3. I say we go with a tall and a mid like we did with Oliver and Weid or Jackson and Pickett, if Oliver and trac left we up [censored] creek anyway and no number of picks now will save us
  4. Not sure that would make sense given there first pick will be 28 are they going to stop every other club bidding to including saints and gc
  5. The way they tweeted it and it has since been re reported by other media outlets certainly doesn’t give that nuance, so it’s fair play. Most ppl will only read the click bate headline and look no further and assume more drama at dees. It’s gutter journalism and should be treated as such
  6. Love it, need to hold the media to account for running these sort of stories when there is nothing to them
  7. Really hope this happens we need as many tall options as we can get and he is ready to go, one will work out eventually
  8. Good pickup if we can make it happen without giving up much, we really lacked in depth this year and this will help address that
  9. But you also don’t trade him out for nothing but a hand shake either, his value is rock bottom right now, even if we go through this again next year we could still get the same deal then and most likely much better if he is actually committed to getting his body right
  10. There methodology seems a bit sus with you have west coast ranked below us a team that sells out every game even when winning the wooden spoon, makes more money than god and have a wait list on memberships, and probably makes multiples on sponsorships than we do
  11. It’s been put to bed by the president and our list boss within the last week, the only ones digging it up are the media because they have nothing better to talk about with only 3 trades in 3 days.
  12. Well trading pick 9 and next year first plus something else would give them kako and pick 5, while it would allow us to get 9 and we can on trade Essendons first next year and our first next year for saints pick 8 or something giving us the 2 picks inside 10 plus an extra 2nd round I’d guess. It’s gets the 2 picks inside 10 we want
  13. Think Essendon will be aiming to trade down so they can get Kako and a player before, if anything they will want our pick 5, so we should be able to get 9 and next years first if we wanted at a minimum
  14. Really don’t like the idea of trading our first pick next year and a 2nd this or next for a pick 11/12/13, with everything going on it’s hard to see us making finals let alone deep finals. We would need to be finishing top 4 for this to make any sense and although in theory this draft might be deeper than average I’m sure we would get a just as good or better player next year in most likely scenarios I’ll preface this by saying that if Kalani White is a low first round pick next year then it could make sense
  15. So if last year was his final warning and he’s broken there trust again you want to give him another chance just because. Sounds like the kind of poor culture that has got us in this position to start with
  16. One of the many things that I don’t understand about this why would we shop him round to cats who have the least trade capital, why would we not be shopping him to north or saints or hawks
  17. Because the media needs it to happen, they cant make 2 weeks of content where the biggest story is Bailey Smith and what cats will trade for him
  18. Guess that’s the million dollar question everyone seems to be saying something different, I’d agree if he hasn’t changed then let him go.
  19. If we are bottom 4 next year it probably is better to trade him if he truely wanted out, he would still have massive value and lets us fast track a rebuild before Tasmania comes in
  20. Yes and incoming, it’s up-to dees if we want to trade, realistically it’s a salary dumb if we do. Personally unless he’s fallen off the wagon again I’d be waiting 12 months as if he can get his form back at a minimum it would increase our bargaining position at worst we get the same deal, I can’t see his stock falling any further.
  21. That’s about the dumbest thing I’ve ever read
  22. It was Tom Morris saying someone in Clarries camp thinks dees would trade for a future first and a player, hardly the most reliable reporter or sources I doubt even Oliver himself would know what dees might want for him
  23. It’s quite possible Clarry is thinking the grass is greener and maybe this is our way of getting him to look round and see what the reality would be for him outside the mfc, I doubt he would get the special treatment and latitude he has received at Melbourne from anyone else. What other captain from any other club is going to board him while he get over his issues that almost derailed his career while there wife is almost due to give birth. It’s going to be almost 2 years now that Carrie had been paid like a million dollar player and playing like a half million dollar player.
  24. No one is bigger than the club, besides Oliver hasn’t held up his end of the bargain after signing his new contract. I don’t have any issue if we want to wait another year and see how he is going then but I’m not against a trade if we can work something out that doesn’t involve us paying his wage and get a talented player back who can immediately play a role
  25. But they nearly always come back. Maybe the grass isn’t always greener and things at dees aren’t so bad
