No, I will not be a member next year. The way I look at it is if I performed as bad at my job as this club has this year, I would be fired. So I don't see the obligation of supporting them next year. Earlier this year, I was thinking of getting out of Melbourne for the winter but the only thing that stopped me was the MFC being premiership contenders. I only had a 3 game membership this year and I was thinking about how many general admission tickets I would have to buy to see all the games that I would want to go to. Well in hindsight I made the right decision because I dragged myself to the MCG on Friday night to use up the 3rd game on my membership. I've already given my boss a resignation date in March next year and will buy a few Lonely Planet books in the coming weeks. Thus said, I hope next year to be somewhere on the other side of the world and here that the Dees are doing well.

Last year we had an AFL team that made a preliminary final and a VFL team that made the grand final. Instead of the 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' philosophy, the club's response was to have a massive clean out of players that has killed our depth this year. Do it again and the talent will be stretched pretty thin and we'll spend the next few years in a familiar situation. I don't know the answer but I hope someone at the club does.

Today was my first look at Casey this year. Our injury list and the clean out at the end of last year made it look like a totally different team. Lever started off well with a strong mark and reading the play, I'd say he will get better week by week. Also well done to the Casey women's team who looked a lot better than last year.
