  1. Hard to say whether Dunny or Cross will feature in the top 5, Would love to see Viney take it out, think back to his games against Joel Selwood, Gary Ablett and Jack Steven he has had a great season.
  2. Against Essendon and St Kilda we had all six playing and lost two games we should have won. I admire Roos for playing the kids but we can't expect too much with so many kids out on the ground.
  3. Nothing to loose, no one expects us to win this game...Roos could try a few things like he did against Geelong!!
  4. For team balance yes, too many kids in our team at 1 time, Newton can certainly impact a game and Bail can get his 20 touches at times, which is a lot more than what our first year players are getting.I don't think North Melbourne had any first year players in their team on the week end and we had 4, at times we have had 5 and 6 first year players on the field.
  5. Just picture Dangerfield with the demons guernsey on, if there is one guy who would look a million bucks in the red and blue it would be Dangerfield. Dangerfield is exactly the type of player we need.....
  6. Chaser another question mate...making in our game these days is so important...Nat Fyfe is a perfect example and Dustin Martin and Dane Swan are so hard to beat in a 1 v 1 marking contest...who is the best marking midfielder in the top end of the draft? Hope you don't mind all these questions?
  7. Maybe he had the flu/illness as other posters have used to excuse their favourite players having a quiet game on the weekend...I thought Michie was ok early and I would give him another go.Toumpas played well at Etihad against St Kilda and I would bring him in.
  8. Yes, he made a big impact and probably deserves to stay as the sub..in my opinion we have too many kids/first year players out there, Hogan, Vandenberg, Angus, ANB, Harmes, Stretch....these guys can't be expected to beat seasoned Afl players. I am happy with Hogan, Angus and Vandenberg but I think anymore than three of these in the same team is exposing us.
  9. How could anyone object, it's not like we have poached him from another team, or through FA....we have drafted this guy as an underage player .....I think his team mates wouldn't have a problem with it, which can be a downside to getting a highly paid player on a teams list....He wears the number 1 and has been with us since he was 17... We all know he is worth it. He is a " marquee player " which will result in people signing up for memberships and the sales of merchandise and numbers through the gates...If we loose this guy it will be the biggest mistake the MFC has ever made. What would other teams be offering him? If Boyd is worth 1 mil/year for WB
  10. Luke Hodge .... Jack Watts.....these two names should never be compared in any way. I know I go on about it Rjay, but surely I'm not the only one who hated his game yesterday, seriously it must of happened 3 or 4 times where he kicked it to the opposition and he hand balled it to Brayshaw who got wrapped up straight away....you just don't do that.
  11. So that's his excuse for kicking it into the man on the mark....bizarre.
  12. Out - Harmes, ANB In - Vandenberg, Toumpas I like Harmes, but he really doesn't get enough of it yet.
  13. We needed Cunnington on our team today, Viney was doing it by himself for a while today he had very little help from Jones and Vince which basically cost us the game, our backs stood up well considering and our forward line looks great when Dawes can get a bit of it...but we definately need another A grade midfielder ... We need a Cunnington, Scott Thompson type hard contested midfielder... We weren't far off today, but our midfielders cost us the game today in Vince and Jones.
  14. I am sorry to have a go at Watts, but his performance today was quite simply terrible, how many turnovers did he do....hard to believe First quarter kicks it into the man on the mark from a kick in...it's been a long time since I have seen that happen, probably under 10's and second or third term when he had it on the members side just outside the 50 with Hogan streaming forward with a 10 gap on his opponent and Watts ignores him and kicks it straight to a north melbourne player....it's a [censored] joke
  15. Clearly our best players were Hogan and Viney ...We were second to the ball in the first quarter until Viney must have been given a different roll on the second quarter because he changed the momentum in the middle on his own IMO, Hogan was simply dynamic, worked hard and is the complete package...how good are his passes to players inside 50.. 6-VINEY 5-HOGAN 4-DAWES 3-Tyson 2-Cross 1-Gawn
  16. We need to move the ball quickly today if we are going to be a chance....if we stop and prop every time we get the ball today we will be in trouble, let's make it easier on the forwards by getting the ball in their quickly and fluently...
  17. Why not? I havent seen a first year midfielder as good as him for a while, and it's not like he can feed off a Gary Ablett like O Meara did in his first ,Cripps had 35 disposals yesterday...
  18. Can't wait for him to play next year and be our Ollie Wines/Dustin Martin type...but better.
  19. Get up boys, it's unlikely but who knows ... we need Hogan to kick a bag which is entirely possible, I'm excited to watch them after last week ... keeping in mind that after the way we played last week not to expect too much this week ... come on dees:-)
  20. As in, putting the VB on your weetbix or just on the side,,,,my fathers brother.....if there was no milk in the fridge would crack open a beer and put it on his weet bix, bit of a crazy bastard but a legend for it.
  21. Yeh he is like a polished version of any outside mid we have at the minute, gathers haps of ball and has class....add to that he comes from Geelong, which means he brings a lot to the table in terms of leadership to our list.
  22. Lame call but - Francis in the draft because he is a red nut.
  23. Cripps was all quality today , seems to have a lot of time with the ball,,,deserves the rising star award ahead of Hoges IMO
