  1. I also have heard this...i may know the Carlton supporter of which you speak DV.
  2. Buckley is very much entrenched in the CFC club and environment. Eddie and Mick are grooming him to make a smooth transition from when he retires into a coaching role. It is quite obvious. :|
  3. Has anyone noticed that Tony Jines does'nt cover football anymore...apart from anchoring the sports news, he's now a liestyle and human interest reporter. This is for a reason - hes never played footy is'nt involved in the "inner sanctums" at clubs, yet attempts to emulate craig hutchinson by being inflamatory and trying to break 'big' strores which are usually storms in teacups and invariably dont eventuate. Pual Gardiner is holding a press conference tomorrow midday.
  4. Lets cut to the chase....Voss should not/will not/could not coach any AFL team next year. His comments on Footy Classified on monday night were inflaminatory as a result of his arrogance, imo. I believe Danhers will take up a position, whether it be as an assistant or head coach, at Essendon. Chris Connelly will walk from Freo and take up the role at the MFC and Mark Harvey will progress naturally into the head role at Freo.
  5. Theres at least one forum for each club on Big Footy and theres links to most clubs' major blogs there also...
  6. Just read the thread about kennet comong out and voicing his opinion on the AFL site. Jeff Kennet and Paul Gardiner appear to be the only club presidents visible in the public domain. Kennet has been very vocal on his thoughts of Ben Cousins, Illicit Drugs, Player welfare and the role of the AFL and clubs in this area as has Gardiner. Footy classified showed three presidents last week in beat the press with gardiner, smorgan and the essendon pres. who i'd never seen/heard of. Eddie everywhere is not as everywhere as he once was...should club presidents and club administrators for that matter be active in the media and participate in dialogue in the football community or should they remain behind the scenes?
  7. An institution such as the AFL with massive cash resources has no excuse for such an unreliable site. Clearly they are targeting the tech savvy demographic with video on demand, live match feeds, stats etc. but cannot deliver. As a keen stats analyser ive given up on site and gone elsewhere, bout time somoeone bought this up!
  8. Ahh a bit of an inter cheer squad rift?...I used to be in the cheersquad, nothing against the cheersquad i think their great and do a wonderful job to get the boiys over the line, but i found that it just wasn't for me, die-hard level two members barracker!
  9. All i have to say is DING DONG DING...
  10. Hey all, Ive seen the trumpeteer, looking rather dashing in royal red combination of a smoking jacket and a dressing gown and crevat deliver a very nice rendition of a grand old flag beofre the game and i heard him again after the game on the radio leaving the game whre garry lyon said that the club employed him to play in the rooms at the end of the game happy hammond style after a win but has not previously had the chance. Can anyone else shed some light on this guy? thoughts? I think its great. It adds some class and is unique...
  11. buy a time machine and re-instate Norm Smith, bring him to 2007, but to round one not ROUND 9 at 0-9!
  12. Lucky to get off IMO, his squeeky clean record did the job nicely. I think all dream teamers a taking a collective sigh off relief tonight. Hutchy, Carro, Stevens and Sheahan are gonna be rather pressed for articles this week...
  13. way too early to tell, still needs much development time, sandy... After his 1st spell on the ground he was put into the fwd. line and archer had him for breakfast.
  14. 6 - Bruce 5 - McDonald 4 - Bizzell 3 - Carroll 2 - Brown 1 - Jones Honorable mention to Flash, Neita, Bell and White.
  15. Ward look way out of his depth down back, he seems to struggle with accountability to an opponent who will run off him. Which is not a bad thing its just not his style. Green didn't really look out of his depth cos wherever he goes he can keep his head above water, just, by drawing on his natural talent. However, he is much beter on the wing/ half fwd. But the issue here is that is was only too late to move at around the 20 min. marl Q4 yet ND managed to leave it TOO LATE.
  16. Godfrey - good, but couldn't deliver when vital Miller - lost pre injury form Carrol - Great, took a while to get going BROWN - 'a blue collar effort'
  17. Rivers, Sylvia and Yze are all must-haves against the crow eaters
  18. I know where to find the recipe...glenferrie
  19. Correct Weight: Bartram: Bart(s)/Barto/Barty Bate:Bato Pickett:Choppy Moloney:Beama Read:Ready/Booker Jamar:The Russian/Rusher McLean:Chooka Johnstone:Trapper
  20. Yze for Mine, Thankfully BT agrees with so i think a new camry is coming to the MFC OOZZZZEE
  21. [ By the way there should be a 'both' and 'neither' option included in the poll. I would have gone 'both'.
  22. Don't overestimate this incident when judging Miller. I think this was a clear demonstartion of Miller's lack of confidence at the time, whereby he felt it paramount to play safe rather than take a chance, and this probably clouded his judgement. Wev'e all seen it or done it like that at some stage. That game would have been seen by him as a chance for redemption of some form. I suspect his lengthy layoff is a process to try and get that confidence back.(Partly)
