It's a left-field suggestion, because Naitanui is in career best ruck form and he's always struggled against Jamar. Footy is all about matchups. Do I think he'll be included for this one off game to negate Naitanui's influence ? Not likely, but it wouldn't be the worst decision I've seen. Not withstanding Spencer's clear improvement it's also fair to say I think he's a potato and I'm far from confident he'll successfully compete with Naitanui.

You think Stretch needs a break after just having a week off and you think others are crazy. I see plenty including Kennedy-Harris for Stretch. Stretch was important against Geelong and will only get better. This change won't even improve us. Stretch was the player that hit up Howe for both of his goals and also chimed in with an important one himself. He stays. Footy is all about matchups and one of Naitanui's hardest ever opponents has been the big bodied Jamar. I have no clue as to whether he'll do it, but I'd be tempted to swap Spencer for Jamar despite Spencer's good game. It might even be his last game for the club, but it may prove pivotal. Our centre clearances were important last week, but I don't see Spencer having the same success against Naitanui. Last week he played against virtually no ruckman. So, controversially... In: Hogan, Garland, Jamar Out: Bail, Spencer, Riley

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - ANGUS BRAYSHAW
Gator replied to ashdemons22's topic in Melbourne Demons
Carey and Matthews are the best I've seen. Senior was a more spectacular and powerful player than Junior. I also reckon Judd's best is better than Junior's best. Others won't agree - eye of the beholder, etc. I do agree that Junior has probably been the most consistent and prolific player the game has seen. -
We're talking "pre-draft".
-
I believe it was 2.96 over 20. Any mid under 3 seconds is considered good. I agree his pace has never been excellent, but I disagree that it's ever been a "knock" on him.
-
I said 8-10 preseason and haven't changed my view. I thought 8 was the bare minimum and haven't changed my view. On track.

Not true. 2 - MELBOURNE - Jack Trengove DOB: 02/09/91, Height: 185cm, Weight: 82kg Recruited from: Kybybolite/Sturt (SA) Draft range: 1-2 Meet Jack Trengove Although he will be taken at two, Trengove's exceptional performances in the SANFL senior finals showed he is equally deserving of the No.1 tag. In the preliminary final against Glenelg, he was best on ground with 29 disposals. Finals prevented Trengove from attending the NAB AFL Draft Camp, but he followed up at the South Australian state screening with an outstanding beep test: level 15.3. Likened to Collingwood great Nathan Buckley, Trengove has excellent speed, endurance and leadership. He can also play midfield, forward or back. He is no relation to Port Adelaide's Jackson Trengove. He tested 2.94 over 20 metres in pre-screening. While his speed is exaggerated in this bio it wasn't a "knock" on him at junior level.

Post Match Discussion - Round 12 (never in doubt)

Happy that smug bastard James Kelly, who feigned falling asleep during the club song in a previous win against the Dees, was kept awake in the stands while the Dees rained on the parade of his great mate Enright. -

If we did he would have been chosen with pick 2 I would have thought. We rated Heeney higher than both. -

I wouldn't have thought so. Others more deserving over the year. -

The best win since an injury ravaged Demons won against the odds against West Coast at Subiaco in 1998. I've been rapt with Watts' last 3 weeks. He's been so composed in traffic and under pressure it's been stark and for me almost unbelievable. He's still made the odd mistake, but everyone does. It's just so wonderful for the whole week when your team wins. Well done all. -
He's deservedly been talked up on this site, however, that left foot goal is the best of his 22 as it really highlights his ability and it's gone virtually unnoticed.
-
Yes, but shouldn't you allow others to determine who are the crass and clueless ? People do have the ability to think for themselves. I'm sure any over the top post would be deleted.

There hasn't been nearly enough 'love' for Hogan's agility, smarts, speed and execution during his superb non dominant left foot snap last week. It reeked of class and only the great key forwards have had the ability he showed right there. Even the games best full-forwards, such as Lockett and Dunstall, didn't do that. It's why Hogan is more a CHF than full-forward, although I'm just as happy seeing him occasionally play deep.

It's a stupid thread, Stu, but that's OK. I'll champion the rights of idiots to have a voice. Look, I'm engaging you.

No, you should be ashamed that you're anti free speech.

Think I'll rearrange my sock drawer Sunday and fast forward to Brayshaw highlights late in the day.

The Rising Star Thread - Congratulations Jesse Hogan!

One of the more bizarre posts I've seen on here. -
For you, not for me.
-
Hogan is our best player already. Easily.
-
Hogan was again in the votes in the AFLCA player awards for round 11. It's the third time in his first 10 games that both coaches have awarded him votes. Has any other player done this in their first 10 games ?
-
Your ears must be painted on. As for Watts ? Firstly, let me say that I'm flattered by how regularly you seek my counsel and secondly, yes, Watts' game, for him, was as good as one could hope for these days.
-
Of course he knows. I know. You know. But guess what ? We are our thoughts. We're whatever we predominantly think about. The mind is the most powerful tool any human being owns. Roos constant referencing of the past is the biggest mistake he's making. I get that you don't get this.

And that was in question ?
