  1. He was out training at Goschs on Thursday, assured me everything was on track, last scan was really promising, he has a really solid upper body now, they have obviously been working on it
  2. I get accused of derailing threads and topics and this training report has turned into a pissing contest about other clubs and gambling
  3. You know your petty sniping is really tedious,, don't read what I post or quote or reply, but then again if you did that you would have no input to a topic would you?
  4. They have been working solidly all pre season on the running patterns when both are in the forward line, shouldn't be a problem. Being top heavy is rubbish, Frost, Hogan, Vandenberg, Watts and Dawes are all big and agile, Garlett must be licking his lips
  5. I did tell him today he was flavour of the month on here with some posters wanting to have his children, was highly amused (also totally unsure whether he would survive the Dawes in)
  6. Seconded despicable, saved me going into detail which I find boring, training is training, although some like to hear that the players are improving their skills and then don't believe it, no sorry that's only when I put it Although I can tell who is in form and who isn't, we are now into the season, so the individual programs for the players will come into play even more, Watts, Howe and Viney had extra light days today, Tommy Mc only does a certain amount and others are in and out of the drills, including Hogan for a massage mid session It is the army in me chap, a la Jarhead, like to produce them not too soft, not too hard, sort of perfectionism rather than obsession
  7. There is nothing more satisfying, if you time it right, than a good bladder or bowel evacuation, especially at my age Clint Anyway back to the training, Trengove was out an about today, did a few 'scoots' around the oval, check out the picture on Twitter, upper body looked even more solid
  8. It has been done to death, I go and watch and talk, making sure I have had a good [censored] at Edwins before I walk out, the club spent money on another camera that Roos' loves As for the "Casey' players, it was a very 'light' session today, but everybody did a solid session
  9. I just want to put this to show that above everything else Jack Grimes is a team man and top bloke, he always says hello and calls me by my first name, I asked him today how he was, his answer "I am fine, and ready to have a red hot go with the Scorps this weekend"
  10. He just did his normal solid training session, and said his usual cheery hello
  11. Just a few comments from deespicable me post Watts is fine was taking it easy, as instructed, Howie is fine as well, had a chat to him Kent is ok, thankfully just got a bit of a bruise in his eye and a cut underneath, cherry ripe to go I have already had a chat to Frost, he doesn't care where he plays, enjoys the physical side of the game (surprise, surprise), thinks his kicking needs work As for the rant, the team needs two sets of goals and an oval shaped ground that is well maintained, all the rest is workable
  12. Only no show today was Petracca Trengove and Hunt rehabbing, including riding a scooter that made me envious Drills were again concentrating on ball movement, inlcuding a length of the field with matched numbers, but no obvious team set ups they kept changing them around Stoppage work, with less defenders and then more defenders Bringing out of defence from half back with less defenders again, picking the right option Interested spectator today Hassa Mann, good to see at the end players get around him Vandenberg seems to think he is the one that will make way for Dawes, asked him about how he was drafted, thinks coach may have spoken to George Stone as he knows him, had a few conversations with Jason Taylor pre the rookie draft Viney got his foot stuck in the turf which kicked up a big sod and went over awkwardly right in front of me, seemed a bit concerned but asked at the end, just [censored] him off he could have been seriously injured at training, is fine Bernie Vince said he was still not sure whether he was going to get a gig Casey will have a few Melbourne players again against Werribee for the last praccy game Pics will be on Twitter Demonpk Any questions feel free
  13. Spencer is improving in that area, my point was Gawn is not in very good form, why Frost is there in the first place
  14. The supposed story on Vandenberg and not sure of the veracity, we went to have a look at Frost playing for the GWS magoos and they happened to be playing Ainslie in the NEAFL and Vandenberg stood out When I spoke to him first up said he had played against some AFL midefielders who were playing for Swans/GWS/Suns/Lions reserves in the NEAFL and thought he went alright against them so knew that if he got the chance to be drafted he had some of the tools to make a go of it
  15. Spencer would come in before Gawn, he is in better form, can't see Frost being out though
  16. Watts can ruck, he actually enjoys it....don't know whether Roos would risk it
  17. If you ever figure out what Eraserhead is about can you let me know, almost as difficult today in 'us' deciding who should be in and out this week. For me Brayshaw and Toumpas with JKH as the sub
  18. I loved this, brought back memories of a conversation I heard between a couple of ex public schoolboys chatting in a wine bar in Soho in the late 60's, very sweet
  19. Wonderful critique, before you make a sweeping statement, have a look at Pedersen's stats, I know some don't value stats but his for a big forward, especially tackles and pressure acts are good Frost after one game where he had a minimal amount of time in the ruck, agree he is fast and aggressive and he did some good things, but please This is the reality of the Pedersen situation
  20. On Pedersen, after watching every training session during the pre season was shocked when he fell out of the picture, not sure what is going on, he trained strongly again today, doesn't seem an issue with his attitude or anything, but the list of guys who appeared last year and will have to fight their way back in is getting longer.
  21. Was thinking more that Vandenberg has had a taste and can rotate through the midfield with his bigger mature body, hadn't thought of Frost being the one to give way, unless they want to risk Hogan in the ruck, may get Watts to do it. Think i will give up and leave it to match committee. Frost didn't train with any specific group as they didn't break into groups, will be interesting to see what happens Thursday
  22. He gets a quick massage out on the ground before he starts training every time, must be part of the routine, was bouncing around at training, got the usual arm breaking handshake when I congratulated him on his debutThink even he was unsure as to whether he could cut it at AFL level, got better as they game went on, think we will see a step up this weekend
  23. Normally I am not flying solo at training, I find the drill reporting a bit boring, but if I fly solo, willl make sure I put something As for Brayshaw, I thought he did ok and would be stiff to be omitted, but was thinking out loud about who Dawes and Vince replace, think the Toumps is easy, but thought hit them big in the first 3/4 then bring JKH on, in last quarter, could easily be Brayshaw or Vandenberg as sub, but that is stiff on JKH then, nice positon to be in though
  24. For Wiseblood One of the kicking drills involved a kick out from a point, with the players practicing their running patterns to create space Another was a cross field kick to a player who then feigned a kick inside and kicked down the line Another drill involved more attackers than defenders, with players taking turns, the idea was to take the correct option and to wave run Another drill involved body to body work, mainly amongst the big guys, although they did have Watts matched up against Dawes McCartney was again working with ANB, had Toumpas knock him around one on one so he gains even more confidence in his knee
  25. But that is what he did with both Salem and JKH, but who knows
