Casey Scorpions - the off season
The Devil Inside replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
Try speaking to him, he actually enjoys playing footy and enjoyed the games he played with the younger guys at Casey, when he went back there he impressed everybody with his attitude, so it is a win win for everybody- 129 replies

I asked at the Club last night, the branding is a mix of the emblem and the shield for this season
-
I agree, it must definitely be the off season, Jonesy having a bit of fun, and it turns into 2 pages of angst, dirty river?....er full of nutrients in spring, makes it brown....perhaps some should have seen the size of the waves he was attempting to surf in Bali

Wasn't a surprise to me, spoke to him on Wednesday, did a lot of work in off season, all the players have turned up in top nick -

The Devil Inside replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Because he didn't have to, he doesn't start officially for another week, Roh Bail told me on Wednesday he wouldn't be taking part as he is not one of the 1 to 4 year players, doubt if any of the 'senior' players participated -
I hate to rain on the parade kids, but the training gear last year had the MFC logo rather than the shield, I'll ask when I am in the club next week, what is going on, if anyone is that really interested

Sorry to rain on your parade old chap, but spoke to Christian afterwards, he has put on a couple of kilos, and standing next to him he is bigger than last year, they want him to gain strength rather than more size, he and Jack Viney were hardly sweating, both enjoyed the session -

No they zipped away before I could, I know one was the short guy with the mop of curly hair, his name escapes me, who showed something last year, I know it wasn't Panozza or Tim Smith if that's any help, and I don't think it was Best eitherThe photos are now up on Twitter, if anybody wants to pick them off and post here -

Salem is bigger, I asked him whilst discussing the Champions League, said he is now on new diet, less soccer more footy! Put on a couple of kilos. I noticed he looks more solid standing next to him. Newton was not at training (assume mixed up with one of the Casey guys), neither was Billy Stretch (he is back at school in SA). -

The Devil Inside replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Good afternoon, I was there for the whole session, Ruffles has covered the attendees, will be putting some photos on my Twitter account Demonpk, if anybody wants a look. There were four ring ins, I asked Todd Viney "they are Casey guys that have a lot of upside, we want them to experience AFL training", you can read whatever you like into that. A few observations, Frost is huge, Roh Bail told me he is also very strong, so has made a good impression already. Dave Misson is very impressed with the standards. The amount of ball work first up surprised me. The absentees were Grimes, Jetta, Garlett, Lumumba, Vince, Jamar, McKenzie, Trengove, Riley, Spencer. The session went for 2½ hours, including a Tan run for the 1 to 4 year players -
Reasons why and why not to sign up in 2015
The Devil Inside replied to Soidee's topic in Melbourne Demons
I have been signed up since the middle of September, it's footy, it's a new season....a few Paul Gardner types posting here, isn't a member but will pontificate when asked.......MFC is my club, missed one home game (daughters wedding) in last 7 years -
So that's where I met you first, I was friends with Man's original bassist, Ray Williams, and stayed a fan...C'mon and Bananas, may add Deke Leonard and Mickie Jones to favourite guitarists

There is nothing to report, apart from small groups of players training before the official start, if they start next Wednesday, which looks likely, I'll wander down have a look and report back, if I remember my camera, will try and get a picky or two of anybody new, although think Garlett and Lumumba may start the following week Off topic, WJ liked Four Seasons "Imitation Life Gazette", so not a stretch, but I am afraid I grew up listening to the American West Coast and Soul music records my Merchant Navy sailor Uncle used to bring back from his travels, so guitarist heroes Mike Bloomfield, John Cipolina and Randy California rather than Eric Clapton

The AFLPA plus the rest of the Footy world are still reeling from what occurred in the Trade period, the landscape is changing, they are trying to be relevant

Interupted pre-season - who will be on the list
The Devil Inside replied to jackaub's topic in Melbourne Demons
Jesse Hogan will be fine, had a chat to him at the end of the season, it was his choice whether to play at the end of the season, decided to miss last game, if you read other post about boys being back on track, he gets a name check there The medicos have nothing to learn, he wasn't the first young player who was still growing to experience back problems....Tom Hawkins is the most 'famous' recent case, Jayden Hunt, Rory Taggert (who used to be on list) and Pickles Evans have all had back issues -
Thank you for the advice, it is dealing with 12 year olds at interview, with me knowing I know at least twice as much as them, I'll get thereCompletely off topic Used to have 4 earrings, passé Don't like cars And spoil my looks My lovely partner may find this disconcerting Only drink light beer (and only Cascade or Boags) Don't weekend and if I did it would be in the mountains St Kilda, no sorry, Fitzroy or Carlton

An early attempt a humour?, I stated all along during the season that I didn't think Frawley had decided, I still think that, personally late in the piece I thought he was off to Freo, until Hawthorn trumped them, he is past history now, move on

I am fighting that myth called 'ageism', as I attempt to find myself some gainful employment, took a month off to begin with, but don't like paying myself for too long, at least I might get a couple of pre season sessions in
-
As long as you haven't managed to vanish up one of your own orifices before Round 1, will remember to give you name check, I still read Demonland, but unless one of the topics really interests me, I don't post, I go past AAMI sometimes exercising, Australian Rugby League squad was training this morning, watched by Kelly O'Donnell and Daniel McPherson, joked they were scouting Cameron Smith for a code change.

Pre season hasn't officially started yet, if I get the chance will wander the 1k to have a look, and see if I can provide any info.

Who will be our next Neville Jetta
The Devil Inside replied to Deeoldfart's topic in Melbourne Demons
Nasher, I wanted a fresh start, hence new name, changed email address as well, I find most of pre season being the same subject discussed many different ways, had to post on this one, beggars belief that supporters still don't understand why pre season training is so important -
Who will be our next Neville Jetta
The Devil Inside replied to Deeoldfart's topic in Melbourne Demons
Saty here with my new user name for a new season....I still don't understand footy followers who don't understand.........try again "if you don't get a full pre season in, you are immediately behind, it impacts your whole seqson If we can get Kent, Tapscott (if he is still there), Spencer et al all through a pre season unscathed, this will be an improvement in itself, Nev Jetta had his first full pre season ever last year Nathan Jones has been our model of consistency, why?, because he is durable and hasn't missed a pre season since he started
