  1. I remember the Jake Lever fans saying a similar thing.
  2. Tom Browne thinks we are still leading the race for him (he did state it was an educated guess).
  3. Close to the dumbest reasoning I have seen. What were their odds last week? (hint: they were bigger outsiders than this week)
  4. Really? What lesson was that? They drafted one of the best up and coming forwards with an early pick just 2 years ago.
  5. I was happy to read recently that we were interested in getting an earlier draft pick to pick up Zak Butters last year.
  6. The first goal of the game? The centering pass on the left? He had his moments (selfishly had a shot from outside 50 late).
  7. Maybe but they have all been from marks or free kicks so it's not like he was under pressure, they were just poor kicks.
  8. Every kick I've seen this quarter has been shocking (3 of them)
  9. He had the sit and judged that one poorly, was gutsy to open up his body though.
  10. Only watched bits and pieces but amazing kick on the left!
  11. That post actually backs up what he is saying. Unless you think Rivers and Enright were quick also?
  12. I agree with much of what you said, but the Salem part is BS, he is not a midfielder because he is not good enough to be a midfielder.
  13. It's what you do in football, review and analyse things that have happened. What do you suggest? Not form an opinion about something because it happened in the past or the club got it wrong?
  14. I agree with most (if not all) of what you have said, but how would you rate our recruitment under Roos? While Vince was fantastic for us, Adelaide would have been over the moon landing Matt Crouch in that trade. Unfortunately with our circumstances we needed Vince at that time. The Tom Bugg trade (upgrading pick 10 to pick 7) to get Weideman was another poor trade, (the first part to upgrade to Oliver and use our future pick was brilliant). Our recruitment during his tenure overall was not disastrous, but it was far from amazing.
  15. Average at best, Vince, Garlett and Cross were good pickups for where we were at. Frost an adequate trade. Tyson/Salem deal is a fail. Howe trade a disaster (compounded by what we gave up for Lever once he left). Letting Dunn go was poor. Had a bunch of poor fringe players from other teams come in and not make it (Riley, Michie, Kennedy etc.) He is stubborn and I often disagree with his opinions on the best players in the comp (constantly putting players like Fyfe and Martin down and pumping up Whitfield and Yeo etc.) He pumps Salem up at every opportunity. But just listening to his commentary on opposition players, I normally don't find myself agreeing with him, do on this occasion with Tomlinson though.
  16. Well this is where Roosy has it right and our recruitment department seems to have got it very wrong and I disagree with a lot of what he says. They are recruiting him to fill a need (outside run/wing), the problem is, he is not the player they think he is.
  17. I think it was a bit more the other way around. He was giving them nothing from a wing so they didn't want him taking up a spot on the ground. For a 'fit' player who runs all day, it is telling that they didn't utilise one of his 'strengths'.
  18. He was not good as a ruckman, lost the hitouts then made no impact around the ground. He grabbed it out one occasion and then rushed the kick down the line striaght to the gws wall. While he might have played in the ruck, you wouldn't want him in the team as a second ruckman.
  19. I hope they are not getting him to play wing (as has been reported in the media), has been very poor so far. While he is better than some of our fringe players it will be a terrible decision if it takes our ability to pay for a quality player in the future away. I can't see where he fits into our team.
  20. Looks like Kade Chandler.
  21. You have got to be kidding. Why? because he points fingers? because he can string a sentence together in the media. He has done nothing as a player and should focus on earning his spot in the team and justifying his salary before anything ridiculous like this happens.
  22. The issue here is Salem and Jetta are our small defenders who should be giving us the run. They don't generate like other teams runners do, therefore we need players like Frost to help spread the load here or to get rid of Jetta.
  23. Keath is an intercepter also and struggles on key forwards (just like Lever). Salem is not going to run away from a small forward. Hibberd is the only one who provides genuine run out of your 3 and there are question marks over if he is passed it.
  24. Interesting considering Rawlings just went there
  25. Your point makes no sense. Yes, we blew our picks, just like the Gold Coast blew a bunch of theirs. They traded away Oliver to try and get him at a later pick, they took Martin ahead of Kelly and Hogan, they traded Lyon for squat. They decided not to play Wright and Martin in their last game, must have great depth to be keeping them out of the side. The difference is we are not asking for a handout, we are asking for the draft to take place as it should. Using your basis that we created our own mess, how have you come to the conclusion that GC deserve more handouts after already receiving allowances last season? I would love for you to explain how this is 'double standards'? What do you mean we don't know what talent they have? They had 3 of the top 6 picks in the last draft and will have the 1st pick in this draft.
