Brad Hill
Pick 23, our 2nd rounder would be adequate.

Should we be Chasing Darcy Parish
I don't know about the outside run people are mentioning. He does his best work on the inside, while his outside game is okay, he isn't going to break any lines with the ball in hand and disposal can be sloppy.

I'm surprised to see you joined Demonland in 2006. Anyone who has been around Demonland this long would know there were similar threads claiming how good Prendegast and Cameron were doing and all the gems they picked up. All the threads about how good Gysberts, Tapscott, Petterd, Blease, Bennell and Grimes were and then as time passes everyone looks back and can see just how badly we did. JT has had better picks than most clubs during his time and with what he had to work with has done an OK job, I just find it hard to read the posts where people claim he will pick up another 'gem' like he is a star recruiter. BP didn't do a great job, but to judge him on the 2011 draft with the picks we had and the Mark Neeld money ball strategy is unfair. When you are analysing 2013 you completely miss the point. A top line recruiter would have been able to identify how good Kelly was and advise/stop the club from trading the pick for Tyson and Salem. The fact he didn't recognise Kelly's talent is a poor reflection on him. The fact he would have selected Lewis Taylor had Salem not been available is a poor reflection on him. Jason Taylor is not good at picking small players, they seem to always lack the point of difference required (Spargo, JKH are mind boggling, as they are not forwards and never going to make it as mids). Versatility is great, but it's better to be good at something than ok at everything. On a side not, I remember a poster mentioned that Sparrow was on Hawthorns do not draft list. In the limited amount I have seen, I have found the way he holds the ball and takes possession of the ball to be awkward and inefficient. Moves a bit robotically and takes a while to move ball to hand or foot, like Tapscott. I am yet to see anything to excite me, but find it strange posters are trading Viney because we have Sparrow coming through. Unfortunately, I don't believe these aspects are as high on our recruitment teams' list as they are on other clubs.

Yes, he has messed up some first rounders, but at the end of the day you would be happy with the final outcome of the drafts with the picks they entered the drafts with. To pick up Parfitt and Stewart with 26 and 40. You would be delighted if you scored either of those players using your first rounder. To pick up Tim Kelly at pick 24, who Leigh Matthews as being worth Pick 1 and Pick 10 two year later. He has never had access to the real early picks and doesn't have a great record between 10-20 but he makes up for it pretty easily. With the picks Taylor has had, I don't think you can say he has done an 'outstanding' job and is doing any better than average.

POSTGAME: Rd 12 vs Collingwood
The coaches need to take responsibility for the lack of development with Clayton Oliver. How can he still continue with these instant handballs, if he holds it for a bit longer and draws a tackler it would open up the whole field but instead he insists on flicking it instantly to a player under pressure. Unfair on him as most of them do it, but he is capable of so much more. Our centre clearances are embarrassing, Harmes in the first quarter typified why we are rubbish, gets the clearance with all the Collingwood mids behind him and elects to bomb the ball in when he easily could have ran and carried the ball and guaranteed a score.

Gawn and TMac aren't Taylors selections and came from Prendegast who we all acknowledge set us back a long way. Frost was a trade with GWS. Ironically if you swapped Tmac and Lucas Cook and Gawn and Gysberts/Tapscott he would be probably be looked at in a different manner. Harmes is the shinning light there and there are some handy prospects, but excellent is over the top. Geelong for instance have a great record with later picks having picked up Stewart, Parfitt, Kelly, Henry (and potentially could add Miers to the list) in the past few years. Taylor is not in the same ball park.

I didn't see the game but geez you are going early. 2 points in relation to this, only 2 other teams had the opportunity to get him so I wouldn't be so quick to be pumping up Taylor's tyres and it appears Dunkley has shown more so far in the VFL than our other u18's drafted from last season. This raises many questions for me.

Oskar Baker
Is it? I've liked his movement but I am yet to see anything that tells me he is a good kick. Is this based on his AFL performances or things you have seen at other times?

Lol, the same Roos that recruited Harry O?

POSTGAME: Rd 10 vs GWS
I heard this but I don't think it's right.Brayshaw was one of the main reasons behind our terrible start to the season. His disposal was horrific and he pays little respect to his opponents and does not run hard defensively. For someone who came in to the AFL and was an elite tackler, he is now a poor tackler. When they switched him into the midfield today, you could see why he should be. The goal Josh Kelly kicked from the centre clearance which was highlighted in the telecast showed how poor he is defensively. He is devoid of confidence now, it appears they wanted him to work on some areas of the game and it has backfired.

I admire your commitment but I can see this is wrong instantly. There was a throw against Oliver. The problem with analysing umpiring as you have is that it does not take into account all the non decisions which are just as important. It's fine to say they are all there, but why weren't they when it was our turn. Kennedy's free kick in first quarter happened about 20 more times throughout the game with no decisions.

Steven May - drinking session
I think the issue is the mixed messages coming from people within the club. Mahoney either doesn't know the team rules or is not being honest. Players have made these statements both prior to and post Mahoney's press conference. It is a stupid rule when you have Jordan Lewis coming on TV and admitting he has and most players do drink during rehab, they just don't get caught doing it.

Steven May - drinking session
Disagree with you here. Harmes, Viney, Lewis, Gawn and possibly Lever have talked to the media about the issue from my recollection. Multiple players have said we have a team rule that you can't drink while in rehab.

Shaun Smith not happy with Joel's medical treatment.
It's worse than that. We were allowed 24 or 26 players on the day and chose to go in with 22. They could have easily had one of the extras on standby or even warm up and come on once the injuries started mounting. Pathetic managment.

Brendan McCartney & Cooney/Bulldogs situation
No he didn't. That was Tom Browne.

Crowd incident - Hawks Dees
He did another interview after the Melbourne game and was a lot more composed. As far as I'm concerned both parties are in the wrong here. You should never be knocking a beer out of someone's hand.
