How do you know it's Robertson at 5? Am I missing something or could it be Anderson?

Not sure if you even watched the video before commenting? Nothing to do with who is locked away, more to do with the club not rating Anderson as highly as Green or Jackson.

I thought Jones was the only one who looked likely to run and break a tackle. That was the worrying part for me. Oliver was a liability, he continues to fumble, handball at players feet and buckles his knees. It is very frustrating that they still haven't coached this out of him. Was hoping for more kicking like Goodwin mentioned in the pre season. Clearly a super talent but dissapointing not to see some progress in these areas. Petracca very exciting.

Maybe just if we cop some injuries so they don't make the Joel Smith error again. Would be strange to play two days in a row.

I think you are being unrealistic if you didn't think there was going to be hiccups. The club would have been expecting this to happen.

As a follow up to Cal Twomey's article today (which said we chose between Jackson, Flanders and Young at 3). It seems we threw away the opportunity to draft a top 5 prospects at 8 so that we could address a need. We only ever had one intention with our 2nd pick (which goes away from what the club has always said, take the best available early).

If you're referring to this season, Goodwin said he will play forward in his interview with SEN. 16.20

Kobe Farmer.

Knightmare is wrong with his listing. According to this video, he was 198cm in January. He then measured 199cm at the draft camp.

It just shows that they are still incompetent and don't deserve the compensation that they got. They could have easily got this pick for Jack Martin. It's a disgrace.

I thought these picks were reviewable by the AFL at the end of next season, how can they trade it? Looks pathetic by Gold Coast after they declined a similar pick for Jack Martin.

Hoping for Taylor or Sharp.

He is a mid/forward, has a loopy kick but love his movement.

Pick 2, 3, 4, 9 and 9. Many recruiters haven't seen close to picks like that. With the picks he has had, it's an okay return. Geelong and Hawthorn's last picks in single digits were in 2006. I would be disappointed if we end up with a player equal to or lesser than Salem or Weideman with our pick 10.

I wouldn't be upset if we got him, I just don't think he is a sure thing like some here think. He has just as many question marks around his game and how it would transition to AFL level as Jackson. The truth is there are big question marks over every candidate for pick 3. None of them really grab my attention and can see the flaws in all of their games. The player I like the most in the top 10 is the player we need the least, Robertson.

Have you just watched his highlights videos? I've seen him miss just as many simple kicks and run himself into trouble then turn it over quite a bit in the games I watched.

It's more about how good of a kick that Dean Cox was. He would be the best kick in our current team.

I don't know about that comparison, Dean Cox was a great kick. Jackson might be an adequate kick but I am doubtful he will ever get close to Cox with his kicking. I do agree about the extra midfielder part though.

It's never clubs telling the journos who they are going to take. It's managers and other clubs telling journos who they think another club will pick based on their contact with the players. Every club would be asking each player they talk to which other clubs they have been talking to.

Sometimes drafts just aren't that good. If you look at the 2017 draft there are a lot of ordinary players taken high in the first round. Maybe this could be a year like that and that's why we are going for something different.

I'm pretty sure Redleg has got them mixed up here. I think someone may have mentioned here that Bennell is staying with May for a few weeks before he starts training with us. On his first day here he was hanging out with May.

I don't really see how you are practising this properly without having contact, sure your kick or handball might make the target in training with token pressure but it's probably going to be shut down in a game.
