  1. Vince and Cross were clearly the best two Demons out there today (Vince probably BOG). Both ring-ins from other clubs. Shows the importance of bringing more in at the end of the year, as great as Tyson and Viney have been, we saw today what can happen when your kids start to tire.
  2. Garland was great in 2013 but in the years before that was pretty bog-ordinary. The Garland of 2014 has played like the old model. Will forgive him due to lack of preparation but let's hope he wasn't just a one-season wonder.
  3. Just the way footy is. Especially when your side is coming from so far back. If we knock the Kangas over at Etihad later in the year delirium will return. A masked stranger will have to bust Boomer's kneecaps before the game though.
  4. Frustrating game. The amount of fumbles, missed kicks, missed handballs. Decision making Gahhhhhhhhh North were pretty good though, the good North are way better than us. Boomer Harvey will still be carving us up when he's 80 years old.
  5. Should have taken NikNat over Watts too, and Freeman over Salem. Yawwwn.
  6. I didn't mind Sellar, he was a pretty handy defender at times in his first year. He was very good in that famous victory over Essendon. However, he could not take a mark to save himself.
  7. The starting 18 is looking as settled as I can remember. Apart from maybe Bail (and that's certainly open for debate) they're all automatic inclusions with clear roles to play.
  8. Watts, Dunn, N. Jones, Salem, Howe, Vince Tyson is either very good or very bad (very good more). Jetta very good over short distances.
  9. His tweet of "I fucken love you Christiam Salem" on Sunday evening sounded like that of a passionate fan and not of a former player, I'm not expecting him to make a comeback but if he does I'm still fairly confident it will be with us.
  10. Just watched the second half again on replay. It was tense watching even with the final result known. Let me just say that Kent's goal in the last quarter is right up there with my favourite ever. What a run.
  11. I don't think I could have watched had it been Frawley, Dawes or pretty much any other player taking the shot in the same position. With Salem, I wouldn't say I was relaxed watching him run in yet I had little doubt he'd kick it. He's a special talent.
  12. Really? I hate Bummer fans as much as the next guy but this is fairly mundane thing to do (try and put the opposing player off). Lucky Salem has ice in his veins.
  13. 6 - Lynden "behemoth" Dunn - what a game, what a player. 5 - Nathan Jones - for doing what he does best. 4 - Dean Kent - balance, pace, skill and X-factor.. how the hell did this guy last to pick 50? 3 - Neville Jetta - the last pick in last year's rookie draft. Has now made Betts, Wingard, Elliott and Chapman (ALL great players) look 2nd rate. 2- Jack Grimes - played his best game of the year, played like the Grimes of old. 1 - Dom Tyson - ordinary first half, extraordinary second half. Apologies Viney (good game, let down by bad kicking early on), Pederson (down on his usual output, still playing like an absolute gun) and McKenzie for his shut-down role on Stanton.
  14. Out of the bottom 4 and a game clear, just quietly.
  15. How about Roosy's reaction on the siren? Somebody get a gif of that up asap. Love this club. Apart from maybe Watts I couldn't think of a better player to have take the winning kick. Speaks volumes about Salem as a player that I can be saying that after 5 games.
  16. Jetta is doing a number on Chapman who I know is ancient but still a bloody good player. Grimes has played his best game of the year and Lynden Dunn, heck he's a smoky for AA. Just need a lift from our forwards and midfielders (Tyson lifted after half time).
  17. Let's be honest, when Zaharakis slotted that goal early on after half time it was as good as game over. Yet here we are at 3 QTR time, underdogs sure, but still in with a chance. That's the biggest difference between Neeld-Melbourne and Roos-Melbourne sides. Let's hope for a miracle last quarter. Kent's a beauty.
  18. Well that's the closest thing I've seen to Neeld-footy this year. Even including Round 2. It's an absolute miracle we're only down by 20. Thank some great defending and some very wasteful Bombers in front of goal. Very disappointing.
  19. He'd be a pretty good get, IMO he doesn't look an out-and-out star though, more of a very good meat-and-potatoes mid. Sort of like Trengove, but better.
  20. Elliott and Wingard are two exceptional small forwards yet Neville Jetta has made them look second rate. If we were playing a final tomorrow he'd be in my first 5 picked, I reckon. Pretty close to it anyway.
  21. Had trouble with the stream + missed a fair chunk of the game. 33 points is a fairly par result but the scorecard is disappointing. We were probably due a reality check and got one. Some really poor disposal forward of the centre today. Viney, love the guy but was shanking them everywhere. Garland, Bail. Thank God for Lynden Dunn.
  22. Going from one of the worst coaches to one of the best, all in the space of a few months. These guys probably can't believe their luck.
  23. It's touch and go for me, in fact after his latest efforts on camera I'd lean towards him leaving. Life will go on either way. Either he stays, great, or he leaves, we get a top 5 pick which Roos will on-trade for something that significantly improves our list. We can't lose from this.
