Personally, I don't think we're much hope of landing him. We're pinning most of our hopes on some unsubstantiated rumours, mainly from anonymous Demonland posters. However, the sudden news re. Griffin gives me some hope. That really came from nowhere. The landscape can change in a matter of seconds.

Sounds pretty similar to Vickery!

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - ANGUS BRAYSHAW
Bang Bang Bang replied to ashdemons22's topic in Melbourne Demons
Well after watching their respective YouTube videos (I know, I know!) I'd be pretty content with Brayshaw coming to us. Looks to have a great size, hunger at the contest and skill level. Petracca's video didn't impress me that much. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JEFF GARLETT
Bang Bang Bang replied to Demon3's topic in Melbourne Demons
I love the optimism at this time of year. The problem is that there are 17 other clubs, 16 of whom were clearly better than us this year. I can't see us magically jumping over 8+ of those teams even if things went really well for us next year. -
Pick 3 Compensation Confirmed for Frawley
Bang Bang Bang replied to SaberFang's topic in Melbourne Demons
A fully fit and committed Frawley is a gun player, let's not lose sight of that. He's one of the best key defenders in the game and only 26, so should play another 6 seasons at least. However, there's no way an OOC player coming off a fairly ordinary season is worth pick 3 on the open market. He'd barely be worth a pick in the top 10. We should be absolutely stoked. The AFL will cop plenty for their compensation formula but they won't be too worried about us getting the pick, the fact the premiers just poached the bottom team's full back is a bigger concern for them IMO. -
GOODBYE MR. CHIP FRAWLEY

He can let the Hawks juggernaut piggyback him to success. Lazy so-and-so. -
That joke may have been funny in 2013. You been living under a rock, champ?

GOODBYE MITCH CLARK
Bang Bang Bang replied to The Song Formerly Known As's topic in Melbourne Demons
Agreed. All AFL players are trained from an early age to "straight bat" all media questions. Some of those that aren't natural in front of the camera (one of which, is certainly Garland) occasionally get a thick outside edge with their responses but nothing should be read into it. -

Good on Dunn for trying to do the right thing by his mate... but.... I think he's missing the point a bit. -

I think with a fair bit of confidence that he is the great 'Yze_Magic' in disguise. -
GOODBYE MITCH CLARK

haha, The Ox is clearly a reader of Demonland. Pretty much quoted 'Chook in Perth' word for word. Hi David! -

It's a bloody tough ask to play 200 games at this level. The players you have mentioned have all shown promise but it's a far cry to say they "all look 200 game players". There's every chance they will fade into obscurity, the same way Cale Morton, Blease, Tapscott, Gysberts etc all did for us (and that's just the recent years). -
GOODBYE MITCH CLARK

"Club of Choice". [censored] off Clark you [censored]. After 15 meaningless games, millions of dollars extorted and countless hours of care thrown back in our faces, you will go where we [censored] send you to go. [censored]. -

We traded pick 23 for Vince. Don't see anyone complaining about that. Trading out 2nd round picks for experienced B-grade talent is exactly what we need to keep doing. -

Speak for yourself. Everyone moans about our D and E grade players that get a game every week. Then when an upgrade comes along we say we don't want him. -
Watch us not get pick 3 for Frawley now! (/MFCSS)
-
Come on, you have to give us more than that!
-
I agree. A solution to this, that I've seen mooted, is taking out player consent in trades. I reckon it has some merit. Why should a player like Taylor Adams, or Josh Caddy - be able to dictate where they play after 2 years? Take out player consent (if player is OOC) for trades. The only way Free Agency will work IMO.
-
Well I didn't see the segment. If it was Barrett, as much as we all hate him, he does seem to have reasonable sources from this club (first to break Hogan's injury, and Clark's comeback) so wouldn't surprise me if we are going to do it. I hope its true.

GOODBYE MR. CHIP FRAWLEY
Bang Bang Bang replied to JackVineyForPresident's topic in Melbourne Demons
I don't begrudge Frawley for chasing money and success elsewhere TBH. But if he goes to the Hawks I'll spew. How are we EVER going to get back to the top when the elite teams can raid the bad teams' best players, free of charge. "But we'll get pick 3!" I hear you say? That's great but a) no guarantees as to what quality that will bring and b) The pick doesn't come from Hawthorn. He costs them nothing. Expect the Hawthorn's, Sydney's and Geelong's to keep topping up their lists with gun free agents and stay entrenched at the top for years to come. -
It's probably jealousy but watching these two teams fight out was so boring for me. Hawthorn celebrating and collecting their medals, big whoop, may as well have replayed the 2013 presentations. Would have much preferred to have seen Port, a team that has built itself from the ground up, winning today then the boring old Hawks. Would have been no different if the Swans won either.

That's excessive I reckon. Take out one of 21, Trengove or Toumpas.

GOODBYE MITCH CLARK
Bang Bang Bang replied to The Song Formerly Known As's topic in Melbourne Demons
I rolled my eyes at posters who feared Clark would make a comeback with another club during the season. MFCSS at it's finest, I thought. I rolled my eyes when Damian Barrett broke the news that Clark would make a comeback with another club. That's sloppy journalism, even for you Damo, I thought. I just didn't think a human being could act in such an ungrateful and disloyal manner. But for his manager to all but confirm it in the press today, makes a mockery of Clark's character. Chasing more $$$ at a finals-bound club after everything the MFC has done for him is the epitome of weak. I'll stop short of wishing injury upon him, but when the going gets tough at your new club Mitch, don't look for any sympathy out my way! We got some good karma with $cully (a patron saint compared to Clark) turning out to be a [censored] player. I'm sure we will get some more with this.
