Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
When was the last time we traded in a top 50 player? Hibberd certainly wasn't top 50 when we signed him...

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
We don't have a proven history of being able to get the 'big trades' done. Getting what would be two massive trades done in one trade period would be unprecedented in modern MFC history. One of these is possible and, in Lever's case, looks almost likely.

- Welcome to Demonland: Bayley Fritsch
Would have been nice if Goodwin had of told him to take it easy 10 weeks ago...- Welcome to Demonland: Bayley Fritsch
What's the 'knock on him'? Any idea what's stopped him being drafted the last few years or is he new to footy??- Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
I wouldn't have thought we'd be too deeply into Josh Kelly. Nth (amongst others) appear obsessively hell-bent on selling everything to get him over. It'd be irresponsible of us to try to out bid that sort of lunacy.- Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
I was a little off the mark, but it's still garbage... https://mobile.twitter.com/AFLTradeWhisper/status/782868612944060416?ref_src=twsrc^tfw&ref_url=http%3A%2F%2Fdemonland.com%2Fforums%2Findex.php%3Fapp%3Dcore%26module%3Dsystem%26controller%3Dembed%26url%3Dhttps%3A%2F%2Ftwitter.com%2Fafltradewhisper%2Fstatus%2F782868612944060416- Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Didn't he accidentally out himself as Mike Sheahan's son last year??- Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Same guy that announced Jesse Hogan's retirement from footy last year??- Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
I had a cheeky peek too. Most are resigned to him leaving and saw decent value in the Frost + a pick proposal.- Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Nowadays that sometimes all you need to do. Hunt does offer that element to our side, Frost however would overtake Hibberd at a canter.- Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
In terms of quality as a stand alone player, spot on. However when putting a backline together, ideally you're looking for a variety of complimentary skillsets. Frost's strengths are his speed, athleticism and ability to break the lines; his weakness is his disposal. In a more technically skilful backline such as Adelaide's, Frost could excel by complimenting the players they already have.- Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Agreed, but the truth of the matter is you need to give something of quality to get quality in return. I quite like how our backline is shaping up, and Frost possesses athletic qualities that simply cannot be replaced. However, I cannot deny that Lever is at a standard and quality that not many on our list possess.- Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Those adversarial days are more or less in the past. Nowadays you beat teams through a team defence. If your midfield dominates and pressures the ball carrier, you starve the opposition forwards of quality entries.- Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
There would need to be picks involved for that to happen IMHO. Adelaide losing Lever and getting only Gibbs in return is daylight robbery. Melbourne losing Watts and gaining Lever is also weighted far too heavily in our favour.- Our Failure to Crush Teams
2013 me would slap 2017 me in the face.- Jeff 'Wiz' Farmer
He and the paddock are well acquainted...- Jeff 'Wiz' Farmer
I never would have thought that he'd played more games for Freo than us. I would think that in the eyes of most people, he's a Dee.- Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
I agree it's usually weighted in favour of the destination, but most times there's a reasonable trade finalised.- Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Who do we have on our list from SA? Trengove ANB Stretch Kennedy Vince Wold they consider a first rounder + ANB or Stretch?? Maybe not. First and second round pick?- Time to show Oscar some respect!
Racking my brain for the specific things he did wrong in the first half outside of the two poor kicks in the first quarter... (dare I say the first half of the first quarter)- Time to show Oscar some respect!
Played well today and gets judged much more harshly than others in the team. Got a lot of faith in O'Mac being a very good player for the club.- The Importance of Jordan Lewis
Still a quality player with plenty to contribute. In a team such as ours, you get exposed when you're out of form. For the hawks he could be carried without the attention and scrutiny. He needs to work harder, but he's quite a ways off being dropped.- WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MICHAEL HIBBERD
That's a pretty unpleasant stat.. perhaps every time the ball is near him, he's the one that wins it?? (every time except for three)- WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
May would be a fantastic get and is more primed for an immediate impact than Lever is. However, we may have picked the wrong year to poach from Gold Coast. They're going to demand a lot for him as he's a co-captain of the club, a very good player and vital for their structure. Brisbane and GC are going to have to put their foot down one day and make a stand or else players and other clubs are going to continue to pick away at their carcass. Every year there's a lot of talk from them, but it never gets seen through. I'm not saying we have to overpay, but I feel we'll have to pay what he's worth. First rounder (10-14) and a player (ANB, Kent, Stretch) - Welcome to Demonland: Bayley Fritsch
