Post Match Discussion - Round 12
We were well beaten today by a very good and well drilled team. Collingwood's gameplan held up to the pressure much better than ours and their skills, positioning and run will hold them well in September. Whilst it's great that so many of our young players are getting some 'big game' experience, it's a worry that some repeat offenders are wilting under the pressure. Too many not willing to do the hard running and simple, quick disposal. Is this the end of our season? No. There's a lot to learn after today's match and if the players and coaching staff can take that on board, we can improve on where we're currently at.

GAMEDAY - Round 12
Collingwood's ball movement and positioning, combined with their pressure and willingness to harass and assist their teammates is undoing anything we try to throw back at them. The pies are good and we need to either match them in the effort department or cross our fingers and hope that their endeavor drops off. More of the same, and we're cooked. Our players haven't adjusted to the tempo of the match. Too many of them are playing as though there is an extra second or two you can hold the ball; you only get this time when playing against poorer teams. This is as close to finals tempo as we've had all year.

- Clarry: From Parma King to Handball King
Saw Clarry inhaling a Four'n'Twenty at Etihad during his first year. The sacrifices you have to make for hundreds of thousands of dollars...- Kent and vandenBerg
Good to see AVB and McKenna back in training. 428 and 463 days is a long stint on the sidelines.- Round 12 Non-MFC
We can go on about the Saints missing Petracca, or even Brayshaw, but nether of them would make a lick of difference to this list. They are mediocrity personified.- Round 12 Non-MFC
187?- Casey Demons v Collingwood VFL - Round 10
Balic was signed to a one year contract. For those who’ve seen him at VFL level this year, do we extend?- Casey Demons v Collingwood VFL - Round 10
Anyone have a link for an online stream?? (Please and thank you)- Best One on One Defenders
I flat out do not believe that these 'one on one' statistics are accurate. To see Rance or McGovern in a one v one contest is rare. They are both exceptional players, but also get great support through bodying and blocking from their team mates.- Round 12 Non-MFC
He definitely wasn’t playing as poorly as this for the last two years with us. It’s a shame, but the move hasn’t worked for him.- Jack Billings
- Kent and vandenBerg
Over the last two years, its been listed as 'ankle', 'heel' and 'foot'. Hard to say if it's one recurring injury or three, albeit related, injuries.- Jack Billings
Billings is a big ‘what might have been’ for us. Roos has said that the Kelly vs Tyson/Pick 9 debate is void as we rated Billings at pick 2 that year. Billings vs Tyson, Salem and Hunt... I think we’ve come out ahead. https://www.google.com.hk/amp/s/coupler.foxsports.com.au/api/v1/article/amp/afl/paul-roos-reveals-new-spin-on-2013s-blockbuster-trade-between-melbourne-and-gws-giants/news-story/20f8f893a20fcd0c57cf90e413938e49- The Future looks promising!
I don’t think talent was the issue for most of the guys in this pic tbh.- Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 12
- The Future looks promising!
FRAWLEY, BLEASE, GYSBERTS, MARIC, TAPSCOTT, $CULLY, TRENGOVE (maybe), STRAUSS, GRIMES, WATTS, MORTON AKA: The core of the MFC 2014 premiership team.- The Future looks promising!
Better than this!?!- Kent and vandenBerg
I had always hoped that AVB would develop into a bullocking inside mid, in the mould of Jobe Watson or Josh Kennedy. It's hard to see his body allowing him to do this as it breaks down so regularly and hopefully the game, team and gameplan haven't moved on without him. If he is able to get back to AFL fitness and remain injury free, it'd be a huge credit to our fitness crew.- AFL.com.au Mid Season AA Team
Don't get too comfortable seeing Clarry in there, they still need to find room for Selwood, Dangerfield and Ablett. There is nothing more certain than the 'Holy Trinity' featuring in the AA team.- What is Petracca's Position?
Half forward with stints on the ball. He reminds me of Robbie Gray and if he can develop into a player as damaging as he is, we'll be laughing. While Gray is not as powerful through the body as Petracca, the game seems to slow down when he's in traffic and he has the skills to make opposition players look foolish.
