Splitting Draft Pick 3
I’ve no interest in any of GWS’s picks in next year’s draft. If they want to move up to pick 3, then I’d be wanting 6 and a player. Unfortunately, I can’t see a player being traded this late in the game without being vetted.

The Dees/Roos Pick Swap Update Thread
Gonna get in early for what is going to be a very big thread... Huge win for the club! Masterstroke!

Farewell to Our First Pick in 2020
Last year we traded away a 23yo key forward for a 26yo key defender. Nothing to do with this years deal and Goodwin’s job was not under any threat at all. No panic. No trying to ‘save his job’.

Farewell to Our First Pick in 2020
So let's get snooty when it actually happens, rather than having meltdowns like in the 'Petracca requests trade to Geelong' thread..

Farewell to Our First Pick in 2020
Nothing to do with Goodwin trying to save his job - this is a long term deal. Bringing in another highly rated 17/18 year old will do little for our prospects next year. The real benefits of this, if we draft well, will be in 4 - 5 years from now. You keep going on about Goodwin being in a panic and trying to save his job, but this deal has little short-term value. If we trades these picks tomorrow for two 27 year olds, then you might have a point... but that hasn't happened yet.

Draftees aren't going to be a quick fix to anyones problems. Langdon, Tomlinson and better luck with injuries improves us immensely for 2020. This is better for the club.

Farewell to Our First Pick in 2020
I like it. If recruiters are spooked by Brodie Kemp's knee injury and he's still there at pick 8, this'll be a huge win. Kemp then takes next year to recover and hit's 2021 as a new top 5 recruit. Failing that - Caleb Serong. Pick 3 on Young and we'll be well set.

Tom Green (Drafted by GWS Giants)
There has been consistent talk of GWS needing to get a 'low pick' to get Green and a high quality draftee. If they stop where they are, it more or less places his value at pick six (or we have offered too high a price for our pick).

The 2019 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
Joe Daniher was an All Australian 2 years ago and has a similar injury history to Hogan, who Fremantle traded in with a serious navicular injury. The trade value you've proposed is essentially the same. I'd prefer Daniher in the team.

2019 Player Reviews: #16 Kade Kolodjashnij
This is one of those 'high risk, high reward' trades that some people complain we never do. If it comes off, we've gained a gun player as the steak knives in the May trade. If it doesn't, people criticise the risky trade and bemoan us not taking a safer route.

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ED LANGDON
This is a fantastic get for the club - there's no other way this can be viewed. Great athlete (speed, endurance), great footy brain (finds plenty of the ball) and is at the perfect age, with a proven track record at senior level (top five last two Best and Fairest). Langdon on one wing, compliments Tomlinson on the other. Two very different players with complimentary skill-sets we've brought in for the price of a second pick and some cash.
-
Tom Green (Drafted by GWS Giants)
Very good player- but I feel whatever we bid, they’ll match.

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ED LANGDON
A bird in the hand... Langdon wants to come to us. I've seen or heard no indication whatsoever that King wants to come to Melbourne.

The 2019 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
Or even just an original joke about him. It's all predictable, repetitive and boring.
-
Brad Hill
StKilda are in a tight spot as they've offered him a massive contract (cash and years) and he's contracted to Fremantle. With that said, I would have thought pick 6 (with perhaps a swap of later picks was fair enough).
-
Brad Hill
Sure did... if you think pick 6 and pick 19 hold the same value.
-
Josh Bruce
I think the Saints need to take care of this year's shopping list before they look to King. They need picks and cash to cover Hill, Jones, Ryder, etc. Something's gotta give.
-
Josh Bruce
That’d be going to Fremantle for Langdon I’d say. Perhaps on trading the Frost pick..? I have no idea what that might be, but Frost for Bruce sounds close to the mark.

Josh Bruce
27

Josh Bruce
Really rate him and would be happy to pass the Elliot contract over to him. Next year’s second round pick..?

Why are the Saints so attractive?
Same reason Poet Adelaide were so attractive two years ago... didn’t make any difference on-field.

Splitting Draft Pick 3
I think we bid for Tom Green and make no secret about it. If GWS want Green and a top pick, they'll try to trade to get ahead of us. If they don't, they can either lose a pick or lose Green.

2019 Player Reviews: #9 Charlie Spargo
Very good 2018. Confidence was completely shot 2019. Hopefully a big preseason and 2020.

Farewell Sam Frost
Sad irony that the player we brought in to replace James Frawley after Hawthorn took him, will now be taken by Hawthorn, looking for a replacement for Frawley
-
Dan Butler
I’m pinning my hopes to a fully fit Mitch Hannan 2020 or even seeing how Lockhart develops with an afl preseason under his belt. If Butler came cheap, yes- but I’m not really seeing him as the player many on here see.
