  1. This Saints V Swans game is one of the worst I’ve seen in years. Everyone just going through the motions now that the Swans are up by too much. Atmosphere is terrible for a Saturday night game - I get the feeling the Saints supporters are well aware that they’re in for a few years of pain. And it will be a tough week ahead for their club in the media.
  2. Watched on from the Medallion club (first experience up there - via pretty reasonably priced EBay tickets) with my pregnant wife, good mate and his pregnant wife (hence the premium tickets - padded seats). I attend every week at the ‘G (and can be quite boisterous) but couldn’t believe the whining and moaning about free kicks in the first quarter from Doggies fans. At the end of that quarter they were something like 14–5 up in free kicks. They just wanted every marginal call going their way and still couldn’t wear a single free going to us - even though they were definitely there (thanks Ray). I kept my cool at the time, but now that it’s all over I’d like to say a big ‘F U’ to these people and a big ‘suck a fat one’ to all non Dees supporters all over this great land. We are coming big time and it’s about to get messy. You all better get used to the Dees smashing in and running off with the pill with skill. We are crafting goals like never before. The tide has shifted and this club is primed to put their best foot forward. We’re now built to compete for seasons . If this isn’t our year yet – we’ll be even better next year. Dees are back.
  3. Heading along today and very happy to be there to support Jonesy in his 250th - he deserves a lot of thanks for sticking with the club and helping turn everything around over the last few years.
  4. Absolutely no flow or run to the Dogs game – they’re merely a shadow of their former selves. Look forward to meeting them in the next few weeks.
  5. I was suggesting it would 'ruffle feathers' at the MCC – not the MFC (You can't have someone go in and give it an overhaul (remove people/departments) and then get up and leave yourself). Therefore I think it's an unlikely possibility that she would come back.
  6. I believe her role at the MCC is to give it a thorough overhaul, which requires time. Not about ego.
  7. She moved to the MCC less than a year ago so that would ruffle some feathers if she came back.
  8. I'm just so happy we're now able to have these discussions about how good our players are. The tide has turned and I'm not reading about failed development or wrong picks – they're still out there and clubs are still making mistakes but Melbourne is getting more right than wrong and have been for 3-4 years now. Thanks Roosy / PJ /Taylor /Viney.
  9. Last one I could find was 2004 – Round 6: Round 6 Sun 2 May 2:10pm Blues MCG Crowd 38799 Win 160-55 Margin 105 A. Yze 31 C. Bruce 7 We did get pretty close in 2011: Round 7 Sun 8 May 2:10pm Crows MCG Crowd 19987 Win 149-53 Margin 96 B. Moloney 31 A. Maric 31 C. Sylvia 4 R. Petterd 4
  10. Just saw the extra footage and different angle of the Charlie Curnow incident and I reckon he’s definitely gone. He seems to touch the umpire twice. Ed’s looks about on par with the Hawkins incident so have to be a week for him as well.
  11. Dumb dumb dumb - so much dumb footy. Expecting us to eventually click and turn it around and convert all the hard work and domination into goals.

  13. We can overuse it like no one else - and our inside 50 structure still doesn’t look convincing (not sure what it is!).
  14. Really dislike having to wait for the 3.20 game on a Sunday – not a fan.
  15. The St Kilda team looks very ‘vanilla’ on paper - we just have to beat them if we’re serious about taking the next step and making finals this year.
  16. Love seeing Essendon play like shite. Goalless quarter coming up - keep going Hawks.
  17. Wow what a shizen game on a Friday night. Hope we get the Giants when they’re playing like this - they are woeful. And Geelong aren’t actually playing all that well themselves.
  18. Hoping for a GWS win tonight - got a nice little multi on and they’re paying good money when you consider they’re 3rd on the ladder vs 9th. Would love to pass them on the ladder at the end of the weekend if we can get up.
  19. I had Brayshaw a couple of years ago on my card and he barely got on the ground with all the concussion issues he had that year. I’ve since decided it was all my fault and I jinxed him so I go with the generic card these days.
  20. Isaac Smith ran riot last week against the ‘Aints last week and it was beautiful to watch. It’s time for Jayden Hunt to do the same and take the game on again as we know he can, lots of running bounces - get a step or two outside of the 50 arch and launch for home. Don’t worry about bombing ‘into’ the forward line - just go straight over the top - we know he can do it.
  21. Would normally attend this game but the stress of the last few weeks has forced me to take a week off and actually enjoy my weekend. Definitely not confident but hoping the Bombers woes continue as whoever loses will cop it in the media this week. Go Dees
  22. Cats V Geelong turning into a ripper game. 10 mins to go and Sydney are back in front after trailing by about 5 goals.
  23. Petracca happened to be at a café I was at this morning and he had his whole arm in a sling with his hand wrapped in bandage. It looked really serious but he was chatting to the owner of the café (and of course I was listening in) and he said he was expecting to still play on Sunday. Obviously he's been told that it won't be happening now that he's had the surgery – but we'll see once the teams come out I guess.
