GAMEDAY: Rd 02 vs Geelong
Thought Geelong looked really quick last week against the Pies and I can’t see us getting anywhere near them tonight. Would love to be surprised and this team often does surprise us, whether that be good or bad, but just can’t see it tonight after the way we played last week. Hoping for big improvements from our most important players. Go Dees.

Round 1 Non MFC games
Kids aren't necessarily at risk or in direct danger but is it okay for kids to see this sort of violence unfold in front of them? NO. Have you seen the video? The bloke went postal and started throwing huge punches. Absolutely appalling. Don't need to know any of the context. Violence displayed by this individual should see him banned.

MFC Official App & Website
Pretty happy I can now access my membership barcode on the app, which means I won't need to worry about lining up and picking up a ticket tomorrow given my membership card hasn't arrived in the mail. Good work MFC and Ticketmaster.

Sam Weideman + contract
It finally clicked for Collingwood in the finals last year when rather than just bombing it in, they kicked it to a spot in front of Mason Cox which allowed him to run and jump at it. They took height off the kick and kind of just 'popped' it to him a bit lower and flat, allowing him to get a little separation from his man and if needed the ball was kicked on top of the head of an opponent which allowed Cox to jump all over them. With Weid's jump and reach we should be doing the same thing. So often it's just bombed and it comes down on top of him which is easy for the opposition to spoil and nudge him off just a little if needed. If we lay it up properly he either gets a good run at it and will crash the pack at the very least, and if he's blocked before he gets to the ball he gets a free kick. Pretty simple but it seems we're instructed to just get it in as quickly as possible.

AFLW: Rd 7 vs Adelaide
Something about this score line is reminding me of recent bad memories. This club is at least consistent across both teams.

Steven May Suspended for 1 Match
Just caught an audio grab on SEN. Mentioned the tribunal is underway (or about to be) and Melbourne will be attempting to downgrade the impact from medium to low and they concede the hit was ‘high’.

3 things I did waiting for footy to return
1. Welcomed a beautiful baby girl (our first) into the world. (Seems there might have been a few new additions for Demonlanders over the pre/post season?) 2. Avoided work at all costs and managed to get away with it (so far). 3. Made a real effort but struggled to enjoy the cricket this Summer.

Round 23 Non MFC Games
Who do we all think will take out the Coleman? Riewoldt and Brown in the box seat but Hawkins playing against the Suns could have a field day. By the time Sunday rolls around Ben Brown will know exactly how many he needs and I reckon the North boys will try and feed him all day. Depends which Saints turn up as to how many he kicks. 60 Jack Riewoldt (Vs Dogs – Sat avo) 58 Ben Brown (Vs Saints – Sun avo) 57 Lance Franklin (Vs Hawks – Sat night) *potentially not playing based on recent commentary 56 Tom Hawkins (Vs Suns – Sat avo) 52 Luke Breust (Vs Swans – Sat night) - - - - - - - - - - - - 47 Jesse Hogan (Not playing) 46 Jack Gunston (Vs Swans – Sat night) 45 Tom McDonald (Vs GWS – Sun avo) Well done to Jesse and Tom who will likely both finish within the top 10.

Run home to Finals - 2018
We were on similar odds heading into the last few rounds last year. We found a way to screw that up so I can’t take any guidance from them.

Round 15 Non MFC Games
Have you considered the fact they lost the game last week by a small margin after being in front as well and have had a horrible year, plus all the pressure of the much talked about post premiership drop off? I’m not calling these excuses but they all add up. You want footy players to be Robots? Totally understand we want players to be professionals - but these kids live it Day in and out. Good time to let it all out after a game.

Demons Grand Plan for Yarra Park Training HQ
Fantastic idea and proposition – well done MFC! I can understand critics suggesting that it won't get through the necessary red tape due to protests by those that believe any development will 'ruin the park'. But, in my view that 'park' is really just a glorified car park for most of the year – it could do with some work to polish it up a bit and make it more accessible and ensure it is used more than it currently is. For the amount of land Yarra Park consumes it has nowhere near the amount of users compared to other inner city parks such as Botanical Gardens (The Tan), Fitzroy Gardens, Birrarung Marr, etc. Given there are no buildings added to the park itself I think this shows how well thought through this is from our end and increases the likelihood of the development going ahead.

Round 13 Non - MFC Games
Enjoying Carlton going goalless for the first half against a team that’s younger and less experienced.

Round 12 Non-MFC
This Saints V Swans game is one of the worst I’ve seen in years. Everyone just going through the motions now that the Swans are up by too much. Atmosphere is terrible for a Saturday night game - I get the feeling the Saints supporters are well aware that they’re in for a few years of pain. And it will be a tough week ahead for their club in the media.
