  1. WTF line him up UMPIRE!!!
  2. Good game so far. Happy if they both bash each other up.
  3. Agreed. As well as our team has been playing over the course of the season and where we sit on the ladder, we still have losses to the Crows, Pies and GWS plus have been pushed all the way by Essendon. All currently bottom 10 teams. Can anyone really be 100% confident we will win? I don’t feel that yet. We are $1.08 to beat Hawthorn $8. Can’t ever remember seeing our odds so short.
  4. Bit biased as he was one of my favorite Dees players but Dean Kent has had a good game and if they’d kicked straight he’d have been involved in 4 or 5 goals in just the last quarter alone.
  5. Can't stand it just like everyone else here. It's dropped in quality so much since I was a kid. The Channel 7 commentators are briefed to dumb down the game and not get too tactical to ensure the game feels accessible to wider audiences – to its detriment in my opinion. You don't hear American football commentators leaving out all the technical stuff or Formula 1 commentators. Watching the Tour de France is only really possible because of the commentary (in my opinoin). It adds multiple other layers on top of what is hopefully already an interesting game. Anyway, I watch the footy via the Kayo app on a Smart TV with the sound off and then listen to the SEN commentary via my iphone. It's really easy to sync them with Kayo as you can just pause for a second to let the radio catch up or fast forward when needed, etc. Replays I watch back with Ch 7 which by that point you can just laugh at the biases when they appear.
  6. Umpiring is disgusting
  7. If only we had a full forward to kick to.
  8. Have just returned home after breakfast out with the family. We were seated right near the whole Viney clan, including Jack and Todd - will take that as a good omen. Dees by 148.
  9. Midfield needs to be fixed. Can still win it from here if we adapt to the tactics they’re using.
  10. Soooo who’s making it to the game? (Would normally attend but unfortunately I’m 868km (according to Google Maps) too far away from being able to utilize the outside of the ground as part of my daily exercise for a run and sneak in a few glimpses while I listen to the radio broadcast)
  11. Took a few mins but I got there in the end. Thought Viney was playing. Stop getting my hopes up.
  12. Weird time for a game of footy – 4:35 (4:05 Adelaide time) on a Saturday avo. Basically a night game after half time as the sun sets at 5.15.
  13. Buddy looks to be cooked. He’s either playing injured or he’s just tipped over the edge.
  14. 2 x Free Adult reserve seat tickets for tonight. Have been away and totally forgot that I opted in to get tickets via our memberships so happy to give away to someone that hasn’t yet organized tickets for themselves. Seats are on Level 2 and each adult seat comes with a child seat (age up to 5) with it - but the child seat was free / included so doesn’t have to be utilized. Direct Message me on here if keen. Cheers
  15. Is Dean Kent not being selected? Thought he must be injured but he ain’t on the injury list. Not sure he would have helped, just keen to know.
  16. Must say there is a lot to like about Nik Cox. Feel like our Rosman is of a similar ilk albeit quite raw.
  17. Is it too early for us to start packing up and moving to Arden St? (Good digs and a train station coming soon - will be a mini CBD soon enough with a footy oval in the middle)
  18. Any thoughts / recommendations on taking a 2 year old? Not expecting to watch much of the game, might only last 20 minutes in our seat but taking the opportunity to jump on the train and get out of the house for an adventure. Got a decent seat on Level 2 as well.
  19. Lots of fast paced players on their team sheet. Seen it all happen before with young opposition sides cutting up our very single minded (see ball get ball) midfield, basically running rings around us on the outside while we’re still laboring behind back at the contest. Hope we’ve addressed that but our selections don’t look particularly quick for a Saturday midday 26 degree match in March. If our ball movement is precise and flowing then I think we can overcome it with direct footy over 4 quarters but I’m not at all confident. Hoping we learn a bit more about where we’re at as a ‘list’ tomorrow as I’ve got a fairly good idea but I don’t like it - so I’m hoping I’m proved wrong.
  20. Start of 4th quarter will see Dees up by 23 points but with the Tiges kicking with the wind in the last.
  21. Caught the last 10 minutes or so as they were going through the Q&A and I have to say - big props and hats off to the club for doing this and engaging the supporters in this way. Thought the Q&A might be a bit awkward and clumsy but it was really quite succinct and professionally managed – I really enjoyed seeing other Dees supporters in front of their screens knowing they were as passionate as me and not complete fruit loops. I’m sure the club carefully selected the questions but they were queries I’ve heard a lot about on this site so they haven’t shied away and it appears they might have made some ‘learnings’ along the way - only time will tell I guess. Love this club and it was nice hearing from the people entrenched within it that they are working as hard as I hope they are. Go Dees.
  22. Gone to Hawthorn for about pick 60
  23. I’ve had a few... but that made me feel like I’ve had a bender reading that.
  24. I don’t know too much about Rendell but it sounded like he was trying to ‘go hard’ at the holes in our list to begin with (maybe because he knows Jason Taylor pretty well, which was briefly discussed) – but as he spoke through his points it was clear our list is a lot more positive than the headline he gave. He also doesn’t really seem to know our list well at all (“Is Hibberd still on their list”, an example). He rambles a bit and there was no real structure to what he was saying. Here is what I caught: List headline or theme: ‘Swiss Cheese’ – ‘Got some holes in it’ – Overall a bit light on with kids – Jackson will be a star – Rivers and Pickett will be stars – May had a super year – But with pushing out the McDonalds if May goes down we’ll be in trouble – Need Another key back – Desperate need: key forward – Ben Brown is coming so that should be filled – Salem: Needs more of the ball and needs to run more. Is a good player but isn’t as good as he probably should be – Hole: Lacking half backs (Rendell didn’t seem to think Rivers was a half back or maybe he got confused here) – Petracca been great – Need another player who can ‘burst’ away just like Petracca – Touched on Treloar and Rendell believes he is a perfect match for Melbourne – Silvagni rebutted that: Treloar doesn’t run both ways in the midfield (and won’t help Melbourne’s midfield who are similar) Positives – Nearly made the eight with the holes / weaknesses mentioned – Natural improvement will come – Should be so much more improvement to come – Core group are still young, a lot of football ahead for them
