AFL Trade Radio
Matt Rendell is about to give his overview / summary / critique of our list on Trade Radio in a moment or two, FYI to those interested.

Jack Higgins
It's a big Yes from me. Working in tandem with Pickett in the forward line under Ben Brown and the Weid would be a huge improvement on this year.

Finals: Week 3
Feel like Port aren’t really taking their chances and as mentioned above don’t know how to play wet weather footy. Watched a great pre-game analysis from Ross Lyon and one of the key points was about Port not turning over the footy to Richmond in the corridor at half back, yet Port keep kicking there and I’m waiting for it to all come undone unfortunately.

Finals Week 2
You weren’t there to do anything other than to ‘be’ there (not just for the child).

Well Done Christian Petracca
Massive, massive achievements from Trac this year and I think this could (and should) have a monumental shift in the playing group from the guys that are younger than him that have seen what he’s done. This is HOPEFULLY the shift in culture we wish to see. He could have easily just kept plodding along (‘plodding’ is a bit harsh) and rocked up each season to play footy at a decent level. He hasn’t, he has changed the story/narrative - listen to any commentary throughout any game before this season - its all there - It’s all about ‘potential’ star. Hadn’t been done yet. And he hadn’t made it. Well now he has, but it took a massive shift personally. All younger players are told from the coaches and ‘older’ blokes (to them, 35+) within a club about ‘taking your opportunity’ but this is such a great example of an actual living example of a young player that has taken drastic measures, outside of his clubs mandated responsibilities/measures, to push beyond and realize his full potential (which I think we all agree, as he has stated – has not yet been reached/achieved). Sky is the limit as far as I’m concerned. (I’ve been a bit sour since our season has finished when we really should be at the very least playing finals with our list, but it’s important to celebrate a massive freakin achievement) Huge Congratulations Christian.

NON MFC: Round 18
Yep, so similar in fact I had to turn it off – once a week is enough watching my actual team.

NON MFC: Round 14
Haven’t been watching too many non-Dees games but this umpiring between WC v Tiges is terrible (appearing to favor the Tiges at this point). AFL is a shambles with regards to the umpiring, so disappointingly bad. Just put the bloody whistle away – if there is any doubt or grey area over a potential free - just leave it and let them play!

Oliver was a bloody good kick - what’s happened? Answer: Came to the MFC and we ruined him.

GAMEDAY: Rd 06 v Gold Coast
Geez it would just be really nice if it all came together tonight. Bit sick of being disappointed in our team and hope we can make it click and build some momentum as we hit our strides in the hub. This lockdown 2.0 already sucks but if we lose tonight the next 6 weeks will be even rougher for Dees fans if we’ve wasted another season before the halfway mark.

Ross Lyon analysis of lack of scoring
Something I see every week: We'll have a player with a clear run, in possession of the ball, from about 70m out and take 2 steps and kick it forward (similar to the vision Ross showed on FC). As soon as the camera pans forward to where the ball lands you see that there was no opposition player coming towards the kicker. Opposition players just hold back and know the ball is coming in. We should be running the ball closer to goal and where possible shooting for goal once we get to the 50m mark and if not we've had enough time for the forwards to actually 'lead' at a kicker, even double back and lead again to lose their opponent. It's teenage/junior footy basics but we're playing like Auskick in the forward half. When do we ever see a Melbourne player cross the 50m mark with the ball in their hands?

What they're saying down at Kardinia Park
This sums us up perfectly in my opinion. I’m sure a large number of DemonLanders would agree, at least to a certain degree: Demons are a bull at a gate type of team with players like Oliver, Viney & Brayshaw in the middle. They’ve brought in width with Langdon & Tomlinson, yet still butcher the ball going forward and run forward of the ball and get exposed the other way. If they put it together they can blow us away, yet they’re very inconsistent and poorly coached. They’re definitely a mood team.

Dangerfield in a sling
Should get multiple weeks for that. But of course if the player gets up and plays on the AFL won’t punish.
