Farewell Oscar McDonald
Agreed. They are giving Aidan Corr 600K/yr for some reason. So I assume O will be snapped up too

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
Second rounder for Brown would be a good get

TMac on the Trade Table?
The Swans could do with a big body to protect their young keys. Buddy is pretty much retired
-
Jimmy Webster
Worth a look - maybe as we need good users off half back. He could also free up Harmes. 27yo. 188cm. 100games
-
Brad Crouch
Donโt agree. They are sorely missing class and X factor. Ironically a player like Trac is what they need. but a solid team none the less
-
Brad Crouch
Good get from the Saints, they need a mid to help Steele on the inside. King should improve too. theyll be around 5-9th youโd reckon next year
-
Jeremy Cameron
The only positive out of this is GWS are pretty screwed. Williams and Cameron and two massive losses. the writing is on the wall, a lot of other giants will be calling their agents to flee the sinking ship. Hopefully we can snag a Kelly/Greene/Himmelberg/Whitfield at some point

2020 Grand Final
confirmed Hawkins is isolating as a precaution i'm going to find it very difficult not to find it assuming if he misses the GF due to a covid + test

Luke Jacksons best position for 2021
Would be great to have big mature bodies around him to take the best defenders and let him ease into AFL footy. will cause nightmares for defenders if he can build a tank and work around the ground.

Jesse Hogan on the way out at Freo?
Freo have been burnt bad. He clearly canโt get his head right to play at the level even with family and friends around. are you guys for real that you think we should go for him?!?

Trade Targets
anyone know much of Blakely from Freo, been put up for trade. 6'2' HB. could be good cover for HB? from footwire: Connor Blakely signs a three-year contract extension to remain at the Dockers until the end of 2022. "Connor's size, athleticism and running ability, as well his ability to play half-back and also develop as an inside midfielder โฆ we see that as a really strong component to our mix," Fremantle list manager Mark Micallef said. Blakely, 23, is one of the club's most promising young ball-winners, but has endured a 2019 campaign stunted by injury and missed the first eight matches with a hamstring issue. However, he has made a strong return and is on track for a fourth successive season of averaging more than 20 disposals per match across both half-back and through the midfield.

Jesse Hogan on the way out at Freo?
I was upset when he left but looking back, getting May for Hogan will go down as a terrific trade for us Hogan has so much baggage the poor fella. barely played a good game in two years in his home city. it will only get worse from here unless he gets his head right

Free agency - the rich (clubs) get richer
this does not change the fact that high quality players will want to go to top clubs. I take your point that if the entire structure of contracts and FA change things may be different but that won't happen. We are likely to have FA in a similar form in the AFL in the near-mid term. and there is no doubt that it favours the top teams and makes it very difficult for a lower team to win the flag.

Free agency - the rich (clubs) get richer
Can just imagine Jack Watts suing the AFL for human rights breaches as he had to play for MFC against his will and even debut on Queens Bday ?
-
Free agency - the rich (clubs) get richer
well if that happened we'd have the EPL within 5 years with the same teams on top each year. and I would no longer support footy
-
Free agency - the rich (clubs) get richer
Lol. So we should scrap the draft too? we need restrictions on FA or the Cats will be on top forever expanding FA will result in quality players leaving lower clubs more often for top teams
-
Jeremy Cameron
People were saying Lynch coming in would upset the Tigers. Now they wouldnโt be in a GF without him imo this signing is massive for the Cats and will keep them in finals for years. Cameron played poor this year as he and others knew they were leaving
-
Esava Ratugolea
If he canโt play well in the Geelong team he will look terrible in ours who is keeping him out of the team aside from Hawkins? these high potential/athletic types are always a risk but we are desperate I guess...

Free agency - the rich (clubs) get richer
The AFLPA wanted this for the players to have more choice and power over their career and where they play. This makes sense, their role is to look after the players. why the AFL brought this in with no conditions (such as top 4 are excluded from FA) is mind boogling. It undermines all other equalisation measures

Oliver Rumours on Footy Classified
My main concern from the footage last night was Gawn's mask not getting anywhere close to covering his mouth and nose. between his beard and massive melon it didnt have a chance. i suggest we commission some extra large ones - Maxi-Masks (copyright)

2020 Grand Final
You get the feeling the Cats have their name on it this year. easily accounting for teams recently and in great form. its one last push from the old brigade selwood, Hawk, Taylor, Danger etc. hopefully they fall off a cliff sometime soon couldn't give a rats though. at least its a night game so I'll be so drunk I either won't watch the game or won't remember it

2020 Brownlow Medal
People trying to base decisions on our list based on what the umpires think hmmm
-
Will Petracca Feel Brownlow Love?
If we had of won 3 more games I reckon Trac would win the medal. Not enough wins to get enough 3 votes

Finals: Week 3
Ablett is a legend no doubt. But I reckon he will look back on his career and Regret going to the Gold Coast for a lot of his prime. If he stayed at the cats I reckon he could have 4 flags and be shooting for his 5th. And still be a millionaire bizarre decision. And in my opinion will stop him being considered as the greatest ever i really liked the Cats team of 2007 with guys like Bartel Enright and Chappy etc. now they are a team of arrogant posers

Finals: Week 3
At least you guys have stopped complaining about the umpiring. 5 frees to 1 in the third Q to Geelong. The AFL want the cats in the GF. Blah blah
