  1. I was actually talking about this a couple of nights ago with my best mate who I converted from Hawthorn about five or six years ago. We concluded that if we were to fold we'd probably just follow AFL in general and support no particular team. If we were to merge we might follow the new team but it would all depend on who we merged with (St Kilda Demons? No thanks). Even if we were to merge with someone that I don't downright despise, I can hardly see myself investing as much passion into the new team as I put in right now.
  2. Johnstone. Sorry dude but with that logic Terlich and Matt Jones deserve to up there this year. I just wish we had superstars. Imagine if we could look at superstars on the DL banner every day! Sigh. So I don't derail, my list of players that I think we should absolutely keep: Hogan Jones Salem Viney Tyson Kent Cross Vince Kennedy-Harris Gawn Howe Jetta My list of players that should be delisted: McKenzie Nicholson Evans Bail Jones Terlich Fitzpatrick Players who should at least be considered for trade: Watts Blease Strauss Grimes Tapscott Spencer Anyone not mentioned wouldn't faze me if they left or stayed.
  3. I second that. Since Milne retired this guy has been at the top of my most hated players in the league list.
  4. I actually had a dream about this game last night where we absolutely smashed them. I believe we played an eight goal to two first quarter and still didn't go back into our shells. It was the best result I've seen in years! Don't think I'll be watching/listening/checking the scores at any point today. Wouldn't want to kill my buzz. MFCSS much?
  5. Don't quote me on this but I'm fairly sure Lance Whitnall was captain the year he got delisted. I personally don't think Grimes will be delisted or traded out but I definitely agree he won't remain in the captaincy. Nate Jones is still the only one worthy.
  6. Don't quote me on this but I'm pretty sure Nathan Bock told the Crows he was going to GC before the season was out. Back on the topic of Frawley though, I wish he had the same attitude as this guy.
  7. I reckon he's probably agreed to terms with another club but the good thing is that verbal commitments can be gone back on. Take Mitch Clark for example - he posted a message to Freo supporters on their official website stating how much he couldn't wait to get over there and play for them, then a day or two later we were all rejoicing over the coming of another messiah. I also remember reading another case recently from the NRL where, partway through the season, a star player (FIIK his name) agreed to leave his current club (FIIK who) and join another (again, FIIK who) at the beginning of the following season but he bailed out of the agreement (to be fair, I don't really follow the NRL so this probably happens all the time) because of how much he loved his current club and teammates. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but not holding my breath, for Chip to do the same. If he's made any type of agreement with another club you'd think it would have been a verbal one only at this stage. Isn't it against the rules to put pen to paper before you come out of contract? Surely that's why there's an official FA period to being with?
  8. My thoughts exactly dazzle, and precisely the reason I mentioned it in this thread. I want answers!
  9. Is no-one going to talk about this? I've thought the same thing all season but only from what I've gathered from Chip's body language and BS excuses all year. The dude who wrote the OP claims to have a source. And I want to know more.
  10. Is there anywhere other than the AFL website I can find the replay? It's not working for me
  11. I'm busy today so I can't watch the game and have been checking in on the afl.com.au match centre commentary. I'm extremely confused by this update: Q1 17:40 A swing and a miss for Dawes as Lobbe annoys him to the point of frustration. If there was any connection there Dawes would be on a long enforced holiday. Do we have another Dawes? Or does Port have a player also named Dawes punching on with his own teammate? Or is it breaking out in the stands? WHAT AM I MISSING HERE?
  12. Rivers must be feeling a tad nostalgic this morning.
  13. jazza, that would definitely get the deal done. I agree 100% on that. But please tell me you would also be fuming if that deal actually went down? Our days of being ripped off are supposed to be over!
  14. Cannot see Freo giving up a young established star, plus a first round pick for a kid with no games under his belt and back problems.
  15. 6. Dawes 5. Vince 4. Tyson 3. Viney 2. Grimes 1. Jetta With apologies to JKH and Jamar. Someday soon I feel like I'm going to have Salem's name up there too.
  16. Leppa had this to say: http://www.afl.com.au/news/2014-05-01/moloney-still-in-the-mix "You can't play the same one-dimensional types" was the quote that stood out to me the most. I say Robbo was on the money.
  17. Bail and Terlich. I've been calling for these guys to be dropped for weeks now. Wouldn't be surprised to see Gorgeous Georgiou rubbed out for a match, though I think it could go either way. He did hit Buddy in the face but from some angles it's clear he was trying to chop the arm and if you watch it in slow motion you can see how obvious a dive Buddy took. Watts needs to go back to the VFL and find that form he carried into the St Kilda game. My hopes - INS: Garland, Kent, Riley OUTS: Terlich, Bail, Watts My predictions - INS: Garland, Kent OUTS: Bail, Georgiou
  18. Cheers. I was travelling when Neeld got the boot so this is the first I've heard of it. What a baby!
  19. I do think they should spend most of the year in the twos but if they're carving it up you need to reward them for their hard work. If they've earned it, give them a taste of the seniors for two or three rounds and then drop them back for more development. We can't be too precious. Aside from Scharenberg I'm pretty sure every kid picked before Salem has already debuted. I'd be very disappointed if I didn't get to see him unleashed at some point this season.
  20. If we swing the axe then Terlich, Bail, Evans and McKenzie should get the chop (would also love to see them never picked again). Bring in Garland, Kent, Toumpas and one of Blease or Salem as the sub to cover them. I'd also like to see Spencer dropped if Gawn was fit and firing. Does anyone know how he went in the VFL on the weekend? Realistically though, I don't think they'll drop too many players so I think Terlich and Evans are gone with Garland and possibly Kent to come in.
