A continued glaring stat in all finals was the contested footy, which is what goody has been barking all along & difference is that the winning teams playing finals all very big but the ability to hit targets when the ball is won.

Can’t argue with these facts... I wish Goodwin nothing but success but just wonder what the thought process was when Roos was looking for a successor???

For all the top facilities/ training base & revenues/membership the Pies have won 1 flag in 20 years... Premierships are so hard to win!

Club needs it’s own VFL side gain complete control of its player development & honestly having our vfl side @ Casey 50klm away I’m just not sure how this works?? Successful clubs that win flags maintain period of success which sees them play in number of prelims... Tigers 3 prelims in a row, Pies 2 prelims in a row & both sides possible will have played in the last 2 out of 3 GF. MFC has a poor track record of this... 87-91= 2 prelims, 1 GF 94 prelim then no finals in 95 98-2006 = 2 prelims, 1 GF 2018 Prelim, 2019 disaster

Goes Deeper than top ups.....culture, development... How did May turn up underdone? not sure what the process is but are new players not introduced into their leadership group/Fitness condition coaches to lay out what the expectations are? Or do they just turn up to pre season?

Top players like Lynch are attracted to premiership success, tigers prior to the flag win were not a destination club & were are mess for 35 years eating their own & almost did after 2016 again. To attract top talent you need to be successful or pay way overs e.g. Hill to the saints 900K as reported.

Tigers got the right people in e.g. Balme as football manager There draft picks before the success are better A+ e.g. Cotchin, Revolt, Rance, Martin Their drafting/Free agency Lynch Prestia Stronger leadership/culture MFC have cleaned out their assistance inc new Fitness coach, so time will tell. How many A graders do we have Continuously poor drafting, we missed out on Josh Kelly for Tyson & Salem( salem is good nut no Kelly, Tyson can't get a game at Nth) Wines for Toumpas who got delisted. I know all clubs get this but FFS we always do! If there’s an example of a footy club just like the MFC that was in turmoil & going around in circles for decades, burning coaches and able turn it around with getting in the right people & recruiting the right players. Just look at Richmond.

Need outside run, in an under we have , need a Lynch upfront lol, tigers went for quick fixes with Lynch & Prestia . We just usually are jinxed drafting players doing their knees

Tigers recruited from other clubs Lynch,Prestia etc but further developed them, agree with but unfair on lever, may showed if he’s body is right he can play, question is will he get his fitness right

Prob more like 6-8 ... the reality is teams win flags not players.. it’s all about the game plan & disciplines.. Brereton has stated many average premiership players.
